We recently purchased a Marino Caldera Spa from Hot Tubs & Billiards By Robertson's in Clearwater, and the entire experience has been fantastic from start to finish. Jessie helped us through the process and was incredibly knowledgeable and patient while answering all of our questions. She made sure we understood the different options and helped us choose the Marino, which has been absolutely perfect for us. She also recommended an electrician who regularly installs these spas and clearly knows exactly what they're doing, which made the setup process smooth and stress-free. The delivery and installation crew were right on time, professional, and very helpful getting everything placed and running properly. As for the hot tub itself...we absolutely love it. When I first moved to Florida I found Robertson's to help furnish my new pool table. They have a large selection and very knowledgeable about the different options. Of course the one I wanted was on back order so there was a bit of a wait but the staff was up front and honest about how long it would take to get one in stock for me. The table made it in the time they said and was delivered expertly. We do not use the table very much and about 10 months into having the table we found that slate had popped and the table had a lip in it. It is situated on a concrete floor and has never been moved. Most places I have worked with in the past would see this and come fix it at no charge since it was the table settling. The management stuck to their 90 warranty but they did split the cost with me so it was only $150 to have them come out and fix it. All in all good shopping experience but I hope I won't need additional service on the table. read more

Family owned, and poorly operated! I called them because they are my neighborhood family owned brick and mortar retailer. I spoke with Aliyah (sp?) who was very nice but she made a mistake on price. I understood but I asked her to honor the price or at least compromise with me. She politely advised me she needed her manager/mother to review it and call me back. Since then I've called and left messages four times in the past five weeks. I have not received a return call or the basic common courtesy of any response. Rude! I'm very disappointed. WARNING - DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BUSINESS!! If I could give them a 0, I would! I have filed a BBB complaint AND a complaint with the state attorney's office! STAY FAR AWAY!!! We purchased a spa from them in June and had 3 different defects within the first 3 months! Two defects (a wiring issue and a defective ozonator) resulted in cloudy water issues and the last defect was an electrical FIRE hazard when the SPA MELTED OUR OUTLET!!! Our electrical met the specs in the manual and exceeded the specs we were told during the sales process!! We have had numerous communications with the dealer (Robertson's) and the spa manufacturer (Strong Spa), but have not received a refund. Robertson's refuses to take return of the merchandise and refuses to refund our money. AFTER the incidents, they told us their spa's are non-refundable, but this was NOT told to us prior to purchase, is not on our invoice and is not on their website. PROTECT YOURSELF. We knew the manufacturer of hot tub we wanted. We found a shop near us that sold Caldera's so my husband reached out to the shop and spoke with a salesperson. What a disaster. The customer service was horrible. The shop didn't have any of the Calderas set up even though the sales person said there was one for us to look at. They were all wrapped. I found Robertson Billiards and Spa on line. It said they were in business since 1930 so they must be doing something right. They are located in Tampa which was a drive. I am so glad we checked them out!!! My husband started corresponding with salesperson Kristen Kearney over the phone and text. He set up an appointment . We made the drive and couldn't have been more pleased. The shop is clean, huge with hot tubs and billiard tables. Many more toys. We were able to climb in a Caldera and pick out one we wanted. I was so happy with our salesperson, Kristen. She was very knowledgeable and not pushy!! She didn't try to sell us on a bigger hot tub. Or different manufacturer. In fact we went with a smaller make. She helped us realize the space we had wouldn't accommodate the hot tub comfortably. To me this is the best type of salesperson. We was on our side and helped us. We are so glad we made the drive to Robertson Billiards and Spa. I'm so glad we spoke with Kristen. She is amazing. I wish I could remember the names of the young men that delivered the spa. They were very courteous and explained everything to me. They took their time making sure I understood what we need to do once the electrician came. The spa delivery was quicker than the electrician. A good problem to have. Our experience was wonderful.. Hopefully they will get a location in central Florida. read more

What to say about our sales rep Kristen Kearney? Awesome, exceptional , detail oriented, impeccable follow through all seem to ring hollow unless you've had the pleasure of dealing with her. We were first time spa shopping and decided to stop at Robertsons on a Saturday afternoon to see what we were looking at in terms of options, requirements and prices. We left after a couple of hours, far more knowledgeable and had purchased a spa thanks to Kristen. She was so laid back and we departed extremely comfortable with our decision. Then we decided to change; no problem Kristen was patient and completely supported our next choice. But, as fate would have it, we changed our mind again and this time we couldn't be happier with the final choice. Kristen was able to get us a better Cal Spa and have it delivered on the timeframe we wanted. Robertson obviously had excellent selections from which to choose but having Kristen in our corner and guiding us through the process was by far the determining factor in which spa we purchased. We always had the feeling that our comfort level and satisfaction afterwards was more important that just "selling us a spa". We had 1 hiccup during installation but Kristen had that resolved almost immediately and we were heating water within minutes (thanks Nick the Spa Tech). I'm sure there are other places to purchase a spa, we wouldn't know because of Kristen; obviously not high pressure just dedicated to making lifetime customers out of first time shoppers. Robertson's is Tampa's original billiard supply store in a historic building, family owned and operated for over 65 years. They are customer oriented with a very knowledgeable staff. We were pleased with help from the owners in selecting our Brunswick table and accessories with such attention to the details -- finishes, color of the felt, as well as ceiling lighting, and sizing considerations for our pool room. Alana ordered our Brunswick pool table, although the showroom is quite extensive with many tables in stock at a reasonable price. The showroom displays furniture, hot tubs, and other game tables, as well. Delivery, installation and setup of our table was done "on time" as scheduled with a professional crew in a few hours. The table looks great! And, it is perfectly balanced. We've returned a few times for additional equipment and furniture to add to our enjoyment. They will be here for many more years to come, and we will always use their maintenance services, as well. read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but we've had such a great experiencing buying (and setting up) our spa/hot tub with Jessie that I feel compelled to do it... Bottom line is my wife and I felt so confident in Jessie and Robertsons that the decision to spend 5 figures there was easy and fun. I couldn't recommend her (she's in Clearwater) more highly. The post-sale service has also been rediculously good. They have our $ but have bent over backwards on three different requests we've made (hey, it's our first hot tub purchase -- had some learning to do). My wife and I went to four other places and never felt heard or met. They even had the one we wanted in stock so beat the other places on every thing. I could go on but you get the point. I had a phenomenal experience here from Sales to Delivery. If you are trying to buy a spa, you'll be told it's a 7 month wait, not at Robertson's. They had spas on hand and I bought a beautiful Cal Spa. The sales transaction was smooth, and I was able to schedule delivery for 2 days later. Now let's talk about delivery. Two wonderful and very skilled young men came to deliver my spa. I showed them where I wanted it in my pool cage. The spa was larger than the pool cage door and the delivery men knew exactly what to do. They were very respectful of my yard, taking extra care. They removed the door frame, installed my spa and put the door frame back together seamlessly. You cannot tell that it was ever disassembled. My spa is plugged in and heating right now. Robertson Billiards is your one stop shop for true home entertainment. And when I say entertainment, I don't mean 82" DLP TV. I mean quality game tables and supplies. I've always wanted to have a billiards table, but when I bought my first house I couldn't afford a game room. The only spot I could fit a 9' table was the dining room. My darling wife agreed, but with one condition - she got to pick the color. So now I have a washed oak custom table with a fuchsia cloth. I kid you not. But hey, I have a billiards table! The folks at Robertson's custom built my table (you'd have to with that color combination). Their three piece slate design has withstood the test of time. Fifteen years later I could now afford a game room but decided to keep the table. The combo grew on me. I've visited Robertsons over the years for chairs, tables, and accessories. I saw them last year at a home show in St. Pete and they were showing some beautiful poker tables. Although that idea was quickly shot down by my procurement officer (aka the wife) I have always appreciated the folks at Robertson's for their knowledge and friendliness. They are not cheap, but this is a case of you getting what you pay for. I am most definitely a fan and recommend them highly. read more

We have visited this store many times looking and drooling over a pool table. We walked in last week and found our dream table on sale for 45% off. We waited a few days to come back. Found out that sold it. The saleswoman offered up another one that just got back from a home model. We went back and looked at it. It was in way better shape and like new. The sales service was outstanding and everyone there took care of all our needs and requests. They were even super friendly with our kids and if you have ever tried to shop with 3 kids 4 and under its more than a challenge. Delivery went off without a hitch. Not like the cable guy who says between sunrise and sunset and then shows up 2 days later... The crew came in 1/2hr early and took very good care of the table, our new floors and our OCD about make the table placement perfect. The guys took their time and made sure everything was perfect. I have recently used Robertson Billiard Supplies to have my old pool table reassembled. They are very professional. When I called them the lady answered all of my questions. She also explained all of the charges associated with the reassembling of my old pool table. I inquired about a special cloth related my favorite hockey team. She quickly found the cloth and sent me a picture of it so I knew exactly what I was buying. After the cloth arrived, they quickly contacted me and arranged to reassemble the pool table the next day. The installers were very professional. They advised me on exactly where in the room the table should be placed to provide adequate room to play pool. They were very meticulous in applying the new cloth and reassembling the old table. I will recommend them to anyone for would need their services in the future. read more

Truly incredible experience. Wife and I came by 2 days ago just to "browse" and we originally planned on checking out some other stores afterwards. We were greeted by an incredible staff with no pressure at all. We were originally told about a week out for delivery. Which is actually very good considering covid production issues, but the best part was when we told our salesperson we wanted to sleep on it, we didn't even want to go anywhere else. Just wanted to get our finances in order. We came back 2 days later and joked about getting a pool table delivered and installed the same day--the installer was actually walking by and immediately said he can do it. We provided our info and they actually arrived ahead of schedule. SAME DAY!!!! Install went absolutely amazing. They cared for our new floor and cleaned everything before they left. Definitely avoid this company as they are dishonest, the owners don't get along and they may be on the verge of going out-of-business. Rather than buy a pool table online, I drove 1.5 hours (83 miles) to their Sarasota showroom and the co-owner Stephen agreed to match an online price and sold me a new Valley pool table for about $3000 including delivery to my house in Cape Coral and took my $1500 deposit. Then after about two months when it was time for delivery, the other co-owner Alana Rodgers called me and demanded $300 more complaining delivery to my house was too far away, they would lose money and can barely afford to keep their doors open. Stephen apologizes and says he wishes he could deliver my pool table but has no control over Alana. Bottom line, they don't make good on their promises and wasted a lot of my time. How can they stay in business when they treat their customers so poorly? read more

NOT RECOMMENDED. I moved from Ohio and was referred by the individual (one man company) that dismantled and crated my pool table. Robertson did the installation and installed the table on an angle in the room. It is off 2" (measured against the legs on the long side). I told the workmen I had a sever astingmatism and could not see angles. I expected them to be professional and install pool tables straight (is this unreasonable?) or measure to be sure before installing the slates. After two weeks of emails, robertson's answer was they would charge me again to come out and fix it. read more

I have used Robertson Billiard in the past to both transport and set-up my high-end pool table. Sept of 2011, I used them again to break down my pool table ($350) and transport it ($600+) with to my new home in the Midwest. Of course I asked that they quote me a price being insured. They also charged me an extra $150 dollars to build a special crate to protect it. Upon arrival there were several deep gouges on both sides of the table because they left screws hanging out of their specially build shipping crate. When I called Robertson about fixing this, they gave me the run around and blamed it all on the transport company. In the end, it's been 1yr 7mo without a pool table. The estimate to fix it is $1700 and the insurance company only offered .10 per lb which is roughly $120. Robertson simply said sorry that's the best they can do. I recommend staying away from them. They lied and told me my pool table would be covered and it was not. Their customer service was non existent and I had to follow up with everything. Go somewhere else. read more

My parents purchased a pool table from these people about 15 years ago. My father has since died and the table was rarely used. I was going to give it to a charity which had done me a good turn once, but since it was my mother's and she needed the money, unfortunately I decided to call Robertson's to see if it was worth having them sell it on consignment. On the phone, they were all positive, said it was a popular type and finish which would sell well during the Christmas season. When they sent their minions to Mom's house it was a different story, One pompous young guy seemed to be in charge, I think he was the owner's son maybe, and he began to belittle the table over the phone to his person back at the shop. Meanwhile, they were ripping the table to pieces, tossing the felt in the trash; it became clear that they had no intention of selling the table as it was. I said "Woah! what are you doing?" and the little twit told me that my now ruined table was a piece of crap and I should have just put it on Craigslist. They sarcastically told me they would be glad to leave (with my table in a heap) and there would be no charge for their "services." I had no choice, so I unhappily allowed them to take the pieces (it was a slate table). To make a long story short, I never heard from Robertsons again, my mother broke her arm and I didn't have the time to follow up on the progress of the consignment. Belatedly, I realized that these people were probably just running a scam to get ahold of the valuable slate in the table, to use as a foundation for brand new tables they build. The terms of their consignment contract, seen in hindsight, certainly make this the likely outcome. My apologies to the charity and BEWARE OF ROBERTSONS. read more
