THOUGHTFUL. GIFTED. PROFESSIONAL. that would be my experience of Robin Clark. I am someone who wanted input from a photographer: best lighting, best places to take photographs, best poses. While I can be somewhat directional, when it comes to photographs, I would rather wait for cues; Robin provided just that. I'm impressed by several things: 1) Robin actually wants to get to know YOU. There's a visionboard process, an "interview" where I answered questions that provided more focus to the photoshoot, and a skype call. This is the epitome of being thoughtful and prepared. 2) Robin is incredibly patient, understanding, and professional! The day of the shoot was one of those times when people say, "the rehearsal always goes terribly before the actual show"...except the rehearsal was the day of the show. I'm not someone to spend money on hair and I decided to go for it, and regretted spending money on hair that I could have done myself...aaand as someone somewhat ignorant of the plethora of gardens in San Francisco, my partner and I went to a garden and paid the admission fee, only to find out (after a phone call with robin) that it was the wrong location of the photoshoot. We then walked to the correct location (at least it was walking distance) to pay another admission fee. yup. that happened. YET Robin was totally understanding, calm, and remained professional throughout. She was completely reassuring and even normalized my crazy day of experience. 3) THE PICTURES! Wow. Incredible. I honestly don't think that I ever expected to have so many EXCEPTIONAL photographs. It's a great thing to receive the photographs and think, "Oh goodness, there are TOO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM." I came to Robin over six months ago wanting professional photos for my multiple career paths but not entirely comfortable with being in front of a camera or sure what I wanted to convey in the photos and how. This review is loooooong overdue, but I guess I procrastinated in writing it because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to capture the profound experience that I had with Robin during both of our professional photo shoots. Robin is no ordinary photographer, and I am sure that is due in large part because she is also a life coach. Robin approaches a photo shoot in a very dynamic way- you aren't just taking photos. She guides you through a process of self-exploration and the whole process is a journey from beginning to end- and at the completion of it you have undergone a transformation. If you are like many people, it isn't easy having your pictures taken and doing a photo shoot. Robin starts out with a exploratory phase weeks before the shoot where she guides you through a process of discovering what your intentions are with the shoot and exploring blocks or obstacles that might be in your way. By the time the photo shoot happens you feel as comfortable as you possibly can and in the right mindset to capture exactly what you want. It's a conscious and intentional process. My first photo shoot with Robin was some professional photos and they came out amazing! I get complimented on them all the time and it helps me feel my very best in promoting myself and my business. The second photo shoot I had done was a boudoir style nude photo shoot and it was a very deep experience. I'm hesitant to call it a boudoir shoot because it didn't have that energy at all- it was more about capturing the essence of who I am, free of clothes or anything hiding me. It was a truly profound experience and I feel absolutely changed by it. I also have some amazing photos to show off to those closest to me! I can't imagine feeling comfortable doing a nude photo shoot with anyone else. Robin has an amazing presence and spirit and I just feel blessed to know her.
