It's tough to come up with a 40th birthday gift for an estranged spouse. These days, the only thing we have in common is our children, so it seemed fitting to include them somehow. In a rare moment of clarity, I found a way to get this done, give business to a worthy photographer ( ahem, and friend) at the same time. I posed the idea to Tom, to do a photo shoot of my kids as a present for my wife and his energy and enthusiasm made me immediately think I made the right choice. We discussed locations and concepts based on what I had seen of his work. Tom had some fantastic ideas and was very receptive to my own ideas. Tom feels that the comfort of the subjects is important, so we decided to do an outdoor shoot at the park in the neighborhood where they grew up. The day came and although Tom had nothing to do with the weather, I couldn't help but feel that with the most beautiful fall day I'd ever seen, Tom has an in with Mother Nature. The shoot went flawlessly. He worked great with usually difficult kids and I could tell they felt at ease. My kids are into cosplay, where they like to dress up as their favorite characters. They loved that Tom incorporated their costumes into the shoot and couldn't wait for the pictures. And what pictures they were. I've never seen my kids look so good. The shots were classy, true and fun. I am more than pleased with the results and they were a big hit with everyone who got one. Tom uses an easy method for getting you your pics. He sets up a web page where you can view all shots and order them however you wish ( mugs, cards, photos, digital, etc) . With one click, a picture will be in your hands within hours. The overall experience with Tom, was one that I can't say enough good things about. If you have the need for such services and you are in the greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area ( or even beyond- it's worth it) make sure you check Tom out. He even made me look good...and that's saying something.

Why? Why would anyone want that for themselves? Kyo assured us that he would be able to take do our bridal, bridal party, and family portraits in an hour or less. Lo and behold, he made it so - even after we started 15 minutes late. Kyo kept our wedding on time, and the photos turned out beautifully. I should add that at one point, Kyo laid in the middle of a Manhattan construction zone to take super artistic photos of us with the Flatiron building... because that is how committed he is to his craft! Janna and Kyo both were extremely responsive during the planning process, and provided helpful advice. She's an LBI local who's very familiar with the best spots to capture photographs. She's super personable and easy to get along with, which makes for a relaxing photo session. Our family photo shoots involve 6 adults and 3 kids and she captures everyone along with smaller groups (like grandparents with the grandkids or individual families). She is patient and understanding and knows how crazy it can be when kids get tired or rambunctious. She can do multiple locations for photo shoots - just recently we did the beach for some pics and then headed to Sunset Park to use as another location. In years past we used the lighthouse. My husband and I were thrilled with Johns and Leena photography for our engagement and wedding…read morephotos! My husband was in charge of finding photographers for our wedding, as he is an amateur landscape photographer and knew what to look for and ask. Johns and Leena were the perfect fit. We had a couple of engagement sessions with them to get to know them and their style. It was super helpful as neither of used have posed for professional photos before. They gave us tips on poses and how to not look so awkward (ha!). When we saw those photos, we knew we chose correctly. They have a great mix of understanding what you need for a traditional stand point for wedding photography but also have a unique way of capturing all the beautiful details and surroundings to make it that much more magical. Leading up to our wedding they made sure they had all the information they needed to do an amazing job. We shared our pinterest board, filled out a form and had a walkthrough with them on the days' schedule.
