I love to explore and this site came up on Yelp when looking for things to do close to Pokagon State Park. It did not disappoint. The facility was a few miles from the Park. It's a short drive from the highway or Angola and just outside of Fremont. Nothing too far. The entrance was well marked and to her to the site you drive down a long graveled lane. There is ample parking just outside the gift shop which connects to a small cafe that serves Buffalo burgers with chips. There are restrooms located close to the parking lot which make it very convenient. A wood chipped walkway leads to the gift shop entrance where tickets can be purchased for a bumpy truck trailer ride into the field. There riders are just feet or inches away from the bison herd. It is evident the staff love their work and the animals they care for and/ or support. From the young, pleasant gentlemen in the gift shop who ran to ensure we didn't miss the last tour, to the cafe attendant who upon request gave free apples to young attendees, to our guide, "Three Paws", who lovingly answered all questions and provided detailed information about the bison. The relationships between everyone was friendly and familial-like. The star of the show; however, are the bison. Getting to see this once endangered animals up close and personal is rare. Knowing the part they played in history took me back to a time long ago. It is obvious the owner recognizes their importance and is doing his part to preserve it. Kudos to him and his staff. Please help support this cause by visiting.

The lower level is Tea Room. Think mother/daughter day or a perfect Mother's Day brunch. Even a bridal shower luncheon or after wedding brunch with the family. Sister day our etc. then upstairs is where the sweet connections are. Something for all ages. Three rooms, each insually decorated different to go with the theme of the candy. Then there is a balcony that has a fable and a cotton candy machine. Although it wasn't running that day it sounded tasty to have. One room is for little girls with unicorns and rainbows and dolls, the main room is more for adults and the third room is more geared towered boys with super heroes and LEGO candy etc. the balcony is available to rent out for small events and would be awesome in the summer months. It includes the cotton candy machine if you like too!! it takes awhile to peruse the upstairs because there is so much fun candy to look at and buy. She even had a big selection of throw back candy that takes you back to your childhood. The place is very clean but social distancing isn't practiced except for hand sanitizer. No masks etc. the owner is super friendly and easy to talk too. You can tell she loves her business which is awesome. this is a must stop place when in town not k lot to support local business but to support your sweet tooth!

I remembered the first time I visited this place I and saw their cute merchandise and trinkets I knew I had to come back. The merchandise they carry is similar to Hobby Lobby, or T.J. Maxx's merchandise for home decor, gifts and trinkets except more unique and a tad bit more expensive. But I love anything unique that's not mass produced with that unique personal touch. But a lot of their merchandise are marked higher than most places. They have a nice variety of selections from jewelry, to baby gifts, home decor, snacks, cute pens and pencils for the office, etc... But if your gift shopping for someone and want a special non generic gift or looking for something unique for yourself and for your home this is the place to go. Their merchandise also comes in different styles from contemporary to traditional pieces which appeals to different tastes. Awesome!!! And their shop is coordinated by color. Sometimes they have discount specials... where if your first or last name starts with a certain letter in the alphabet you save 20%, and they also have a rewards card. Once that's filled up you can save money, but otherwise when shopping there just expect to shell out some extra cash. This is one cutest gift shops I've been to. I go here even if I'm not visiting someone in the hospital. But because this place is located in a hospital parking can be hard to find. But I recommend checking this place out.
