I hesitated for a long time before writing this review, but after reflecting on my experience, I…read morefeel it's important to share it so others can make an informed decision. I decided to get braces as part of a longer treatment plan to properly align my teeth in preparation for future dental work. At first, everything seemed fine. I did break one bracket during treatment and paid for it without any issue. The main problem started after my braces were removed. I was given a removable retainer (the bulky, mouth-guard-style type). While the doctor was testing it in the office, I immediately mentioned that I was feeling an uncomfortable, almost shocking sensation. The upper retainer collected a large amount of saliva and created a strong choking feeling. It pressed in a way that made swallowing difficult, with saliva pooling between the retainer and the roof of my mouth, making me feel like I could choke. I was told that I just needed to get used to it. At home, I tried wearing it again, but the choking sensation was so intense that I had to remove it immediately. I tried again the following day with the same result. I eventually stopped trying because I was genuinely afraid of choking. I contacted the office and was given an appointment about a week to ten days later. When I explained the situation to Dr. Amer, his response was simply that he had fitted it himself. I clarified that while the wire may have been adjusted, the issue was with the size and shape of the upper portion and how it fit my mouth. Instead of attempting to adjust or modify the existing retainer, I was told that switching to a clear retainer would cost $700. When I asked if the current retainer could be trimmed or adjusted to fit safely, I was told that would also cost $700. By that time, my teeth had already started shifting because I had been unable to wear the retainer due to safety concerns. Despite this, there was no effort made to address the shifting or to find a solution that would allow me to continue my treatment safely. Overall, I felt my concerns were dismissed and my treatment goals were overlooked. What began as a necessary step in my dental plan ultimately turned into a waste of time and money. I ultimately decided not to proceed with paying for a new retainer, even though a payment plan was offered, as I had already invested significantly in the treatment and did not feel it was reasonable to pay again to correct an issue that prevented me from wearing the original retainer.

So far so great:) The office staff were very friendly and, even though I'm a new patient, we're…read moreable to fit me in for a desperately needed cleaning this Saturday!

I have visited Dr. Larry Yien's office for dental procedures several times. My dental needs…read moreincluded cavity fillings, broken molar repair, and an abscess (ouch). I could not have been in better hands. Dr. Yien's staff made me feel very welcome and comfortable from the moment I arrived for my appointments. His office is clean, warm, and comfortable. Dr. Yien explained my dental problems and quickly put me at ease. He thoroughly described each issue and described the procedures he would utilize to repair the defects. Dr. Yien ensured that I was comfortable and that I experienced no discomfort. And his work was exemplary. It is a wonderful thing to enter a doctor's office with apprehension, and to leave a short time later feeling such great relief! Dr. Yien not only does his job very well, he does it while expressing empathy and compassion. I am grateful, and I heartily recommend Dr. Yien's practice to anyone who seeks the highest level of medical competency. Thank You!

I have gone to my fair share of dentists and have been often disillusioned with their services…read more They were either overpriced, deceptive and in the long run... really did'nt care. I even went to a dentist who offered botox as a sideline...really! I found Dr. Yein's office over six years ago by chance. I knew right away that I made the right choice. Dr. Yein is not only extremely knowledge, but is honest and will actually give you options with your dental care. He cares about his patients! I am grateful that if I have a dental emergeny....he will take care of it right away. I know...that's unheard of these days. Lea, the office manager is so friendly, caring and always takes the time to work the "kinks" out of making the billing a breeze. Thea, along with his other staff members are so nice, professional, and take the time to accomodat the "regulars" and new patients. I have to say that I could not be happier with the service that I receive at this office. They are truly the best!!!
