Yelp is very misleading with all these reviews with other CPA's names listed on the review. I haven't found out much on Nathan Robnett himself. I was referred to him over 9 years ago by a friend of our family when our taxes got too complicated for my husband to do the taxes himself and needed assistance. After asking several friends and neighbors who we should use several of them Recommended Nathan Robnett who was their CPA and Tax guy. I called and spoke to Mr. Robnett about my situation and he was extremely nice, and polite over the phone, and answered all of my questions that I could think of at that tine, but due to the complex nature of our taxes he asked if we could bring in the paperwork we had on hand and come meet with him in person to discuss.
His office was in a very nice professional building, and his staff was very nice, professional and courteous. He answered all of our questions we had and prepared our taxes. By my husbands rough calculations we were going to owe $3,000-$5,000 for that year, but found a nice surprise in getting a $500 refund. So far we have used Nathan Robnett for the last 9 1/2 years, and cannot imagine ever going to a place like H & R Block, or using Turbo Tax to do our taxes. He knew what questions to ask to get our taxes processed as efficiently as possible, and was very thorough and detailed in the deductions to make sure he covered all the bases. When I see a review like what Beth C. posted on 10//15/13 I shake my head because I have known Mr. Robnett for many years, and on multiple occasions we put off doing our taxes by filing extensions on our own, and only in one case were the fees we were charged over $800-which was our fault because Mr. Robnett was then processing two prior years of taxes we had put off that included penalties and interest, as well as the current year that had just past. He was very fair about warning us if we waited to file our taxes for the two prior years any longer the IRS was going to pile on additional fees. Every other year we have had him do our taxes when we filed them on time, or if we filed an extension, filed the taxes before the extension due date the fees we were charged by Nathan Robnett's to take care of our Taxes usually lingered from $200-$400 depending on how difficult our taxes were for that year and how long it took to him to prepare them.
So many of these people who are writing reviews, especially the bad ones, are leaving out some important information about their situation....whether they are needing a CPA to file multiple years of taxes due to extensions that have been filed by the client, and allowed the due date to expire, or not bringing all of the receipts requested to the CPA so that they can adequately prepare their taxes, or are simply blaming the CPA for having to pay the IRS for their own mistakes that require a good CPA's knowledge and expertise to get them out of a jam. I cannot imagine having to use another CPA's firm to do my taxes, or discuss financial planning, or any other accounting needs other than Nathan Robnett & Associates/Company. We deal with Nathan directly, rather than another CPA that might be working at or through his firm-not that there would be anything wrong with using another CPA at his firm to do our taxes, it has just never been an issue. I believe that when everything is said and done Nathan has checked, and double checked his own work, and every return that goes out to the clients has his seal of approval on it, and if I'm not mistaken his personal signature on it too. read more
