The surgery I had here in 2018 somehow fell apart, so I needed it done again. If I had any alternatives, I would be crazy to go back to this clinic - but since I don't, I went to them again. I already knew before I even got started that I needed surgery, but I still had to go through FIVE appointments just to get the surgery scheduled. This stretched out for well over a month, with me being in pain the whole time. Every time I needed an appointment, I had to call them, talk my way past a useless robot, and then get put on hold for an obscenely long time. Then at the office, they kept me waiting 30-60 minutes past my scheduled appointment time every time. Maybe your office wouldn't be so hopelessly swamped if you didn't force people to go through a ridiculous number of unnecessary appointments. When I finally got the surgery scheduled, I had to go to a hospital very far away in Oregon City, even though there are plenty of closer options, and communication on the day before the surgery was not as clear as it should have been. On the day of the procedure, I was forced to wait outside in the cold and then walk a long distance around the outside of the hospital, while starving, all because of blatantly wrong signage on the hospital. After the surgery, they referred me to physical therapy, who refused to take my insurance even though it is a division of the same company, forcing me to enter another round of phone tag and ultimately figure PT out on my own. They gave me a brace with pads that fall off way too easily, and told me that I was required to wear it everywhere at all times. Well surprise surprise, some of the pads got lost. When I called them to ask for help replacing the pads, they were unable to help, leaving metal digging directly into my skin. I ultimately had to remake the pads myself using supplies from a crafts store. They also failed to provide me with the crutches I needed, and I had to supply my own. I needed multiple doctor's notes for my work and for the Employment Office. Are you sitting down? ROC charges you $30 every time you need a note. My insurance already paid them over $60,000, but why miss yet another opportunity to nickel-and-dime patients and kick us when we are down? I think this is disgusting and greedy (although it is not illegal). ROC subjected me to every hassle they possibly can. This experience was extremely stressful, and the whole process could have been completed in just the time it took for the surgery to be scheduled. read more

Fiat time visiting this facility and it is state of the art. Big spacious waiting room with a variety of seats for those dealing with orthopedic issues. Top notch xRay equipment. Clean, well lit patient rooms. For 15 years I've been going to the Carmen Drive location but they are closed for the summer so that new, and much needed, xRay equipment and electrical is being installed. Unfortunately I am dealing with a left hip and thigh issue that has prevented me from walking any distance for several months now. And that's with a cane or walker. After spending 8 months last year immobile due to a femur fracture and then ultimately a right hip replacement, this new issue is overwhelming. The pain is excruciating and no relief. I've had hip X-rays and MRIs, and a labral tear was detected. After two cortisone injections and months of PT, still no relief. It's actually gotten worse. When I called to set up appointment, I insisted on seeing an orthopedic doctor, specifically Dr, Wagner, and not a PA. Don't get me wrong, I love the PA that I have seen for this situation, and last year for my right hip, but since my condition is progressively getting worse, I needed to see a doctor with more experience. Dr. Wagner did my right hip replacement so we have a relationship. At this appointment , I was in tears due to the pain and frustration. Dr. Wagner was kind, compassionate, and committed to figuring out the cause. He reviewed the MRI and agreed with me that something else is going on. This crippling pain is not from a labral tear. He ordered an MRI of my spine, and depending on the findings, may refer me to a regenerative sports & spine specialist. I've seen so many specialists and I'm praying this is finally the answer that puts me on a path to recovering my mobility. read more

Poor communication and poor organization. Don't waste your time. No one seems to know what is going on and it is very poorly ran.

My left knee replacement with ROC was an excellent experience! Dr. Ballard really listened and is very easy to talk to. Great communication. Healed quickly, no bleeding, no oozing, incredible mobility during my first week of physical therapy. Yes, this surgery hurts, a lot. Be ready and have a plan. Have premade meals ready. I had crazy cravings for Indian food, the Turmeric keeps inflammation down. Worked for me. The first two weeks are tough, especially asking for help from others. I constantly washed sheets and clothing to keep chance of infection down. I won. I healed fast! Matter of fact, PT was amazed at my quick recovery and range of motion after the first week of my highly successful surgery. Tip: don't wait on PT, first 3 weeks after surgery are crucial to gain motion. You don't want to, but you must work to get back your range. Book therapy at least a month before your surgery. My incision site was beautifully sealed/ glued together and has healed up to be hardly visible and I'm at 6 weeks. Dr. Ballard is professional and the best surgeon! Communications through the app are responsive and often a reply with minutes and/or phone call. How do I know this is an excellent practice? Let me tell you about my other experience. My other (right) knee was replaced by the large chop shop you can see from the I-26 freeway. TWICE. The first surgery was an epic fail. Healing was slow, range of mobility was limited, the knee often gave out, I often walked like a drunk sailor with my knee giving out without warning, stitches looked awful like Frankenstein stapled together. They just shrugged their shoulders months after surgery and couldn't answer why I was still in pain, with excessive swelling, over charged for visits, and said I was the 2%. After struggling for a year, I had to pay again and had their 'Fix-It' doctor try again. Why do they have a fix doctor?! I knew then I would not return and when my left knee gave out, did my research and promptly called Dr Ballard. Best decision ever! I highly recommend ROC after both my hand and knee surgeries. read more

I am very unhappy with the appointments, from two different orthopedic surgeons, at ROC. Neither of them listened and each gave me only about 10 minutes of their time. The 2nd doctor that I saw was 1.5 hours late to my appointment and again only gave me about 10 minutes. I asked what suggestions he had, and he said he could not help me. I had to ask him if I should try physical therapy. I am very disappointed in orthopedic surgeons at ROC. read more

Don't believe the hype or the beautiful office space. I needed a knee replacement. What I got was a new knee that was bent at an angle (I couldn't put my heel on the ground). I was told this was in my head to avoid pain!! But I was in extreme pain. They told me at the surgery center to just walk on my toes, that would be fine. Hardly a solution. Also, I was taken by ambulance the day after surgery to the ER for extreme hydration. They hadn't given me a prescription for vomiting even though that was happening at the surgical center. After six months of PT, I finally was able to fix the problem with my knee, slowly, on my own. At ROC, they tell you everything will be fine (you won't have any problems...walking uphill to my house hours after surgery, etc). They don't see a problem with your foot turning purple (literally). I will need another knee replacement on the other side, but I won't be returning here. read more

This is one of those slick looking places that you read online that they are cutting edge and privately owned and it looks pretty slick. When you walk in the people that check you in at the reception desk are very kind. All the workers seem like they're very kind the doctor, however Did not give me any insight of the future. The first appointment I had with him he said hip replacement the second one no surgery at all and gave me very little of his time didn't give me any insight really as what to expect fluid on my hip. It's been causing me pain. He said I have a lot of fluid and I had one prior injection over in the Seattle area Which they drained fluid off of the hip and then did the injection. This is not what was done with this clinic? They just straight up to the injection and dismissed me without really talking to me. It was a very hurried feeling, and I felt very dismayed and since I am paying quite a large amount for a co-pay for my Budget, I will probably not go here again because I didn't get any relief from the injection and almost made me worse, so this was not the result I was looking for because I compared it to my first injection over in the Seattle area. I am new to Oregon and there are seemingly limited clinics to go to, but I do need to do my research partially this is my Own fault because I didn't do a lot of other comparing and I didn't look at reviews. read more

I received surgery from Dr. Wagner and his team and I am super impressed with him and everyone that works with him. Not only did he and his staff give me all info straight up no BS. They asked questions after and I felt heard. They also advocated for me against the worker's compensation devils who kept sending me to their doctors and telling me I simply had arthritis and were trying to deny my claim. Before ad after the surgery the team was never out of ear shot and constantly checking in. After a year of having a very painful injury I finally feel like there is hope of getting back to my normal life. Thanks to everyone at ROC. read more

I am happy with my surgeon, Dr. Cheesman. I do wish the center handled the scheduling properly. I often sit in the exam room for a least 30 - 45 minutes before they enter the room. And my visit always seems rushed. The center itself is run so poorly, specifically when it comes to communication. Their patient portal is useless, getting a message through to your doctor is impossible. Their text messaging system Klara is a waste of time because you won't get a response. And forget about speaking with a person on the phone. It's never going to happen. If it weren't for Dr. Cheesman I would look elsewhere for my orthopedic injury care. read more

I went here for ankle repair surgery. Trust me, do not go here for any reason, ever. The doctor rarely gave me more than 5 or 10 minutes twice over a almost 1 year span. His PA was so ridiculously rude it's just wrong. The office manager some months ago, equally rude. The emergency room told me I did not need surgery but referred me to this Clinic, for a second opinion. What a mistake, I should have got a third opinion. The best two out of three right? I now have permanent nerve damage and at the age that I am my entire rest of my life has been severely compromised. Please do not go here for any reason. read more

I've been a few times for frozen shoulder and a rotator cuff tear. I saw Dr Huberty, and although I had an MRI that revealed quite a bit of crap wrong, he decided to take a more conservative approach (instead of surgery and a 6-month recovery), and opted for a couple of cortisone injections to help alleviate the frozen shoulder first. I have to say, in a time (COVID) when people are trying to make all the money they can, Dr Huberty's conservative approach saved me a LOT of $ (not pushing surgery) but also gave me some relief and I'm almost back to a good range of motion. I know if I have future issues, this is where I'll go. They have an online portal where you can request an appointment, and their facility in Tualatin is state-of-the-art and gigantic. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Hanzlik and his team at ROC. Dr. Hanzlik is extremely professional, knowledgeable, informative and has his patients best interest at heart. Before and after my Hip Arthroscopy, Dr. Hanzlik sincerely took the time needed to ensure I understood everything from beginning to end on the procedure itself and my recovery as well. Since my hip surgery, I have since seen Dr. Hanzlik twice for PRP injections on my hamstring attachment; not only have the results exceeded my expectations but so does Dr. Hanzlik with his genuine care and concern for his patients. This all started in 2014 with a head on auto collision. Both muscular arms hurt by the force of the air bag, tendons ripped from the tops of my shoulders. Dr. Huberty repaired both 7 years apart, 6-8 months recovery... Works great now, nothing but praise for his skills!!! Dr. Ballard gave me a new life! 2016 I could no longer walk, run, sit, or sleep with the knee pains. First knee was a partial, a little PT, back to almost normal in a month. Second knee a full replacement, at the surgery center, no sick people there, best choice for both. No PT, just a stationary bike, No pain! ever again! Had a 3:30 appt on 1/4/21. When I arrived the receptionist tells me the doctor did not come in today. When asked why no one called, her response, "l'll let my manager know." Then the receptionist never asked to reschedule. I went to this practice several months ago. Waited for over 1/2 hour past my appointment time. Once seen the doctor quickly asked, "what do you want me to do?" Well, "my wrist still has a sharp pain and hurts, I've immobilized it for over two weeks, is there more to this injury or should I rest it longer?" Suppose medical advice is not what this place deals with. Then I'm given a prescription and asked to wait for a wrist wrap. After waiting in the room for 20 minutes I got up and left. Is this normal business practice in Oregon or just how non-white individuals (with insurance) are treated? read more

If I were rating Abigail the PA the review would be 5 stars. She's a gem. I was considering surgery with Dr. Wagner. I was at ROC twice recently. For Both visits I was in the waiting room 50 minutes. I spent another 10 in the exam room. My one appointment was confirmed with 3 different times. I recieved two phone calls saying they didn't have my insurance (which they had already billed). At my second recent appooinment they couldn't find my chart (turned out I had two). Asked my to get x-rays. I just had them two weeks prior. I felt very uncomfortable with Dr. Wagner, like I was wasting his time. I decided to make an appointment at Rebound Orthopedics (best decision ever)!! I brought a disc from ROC. I had two x-rays but there were 42 images on there. Apparently they were not my images. My experience at Rebound was a 180 degree departure from ROC. read more

Dr. Black is extremely unprofessional and his team at ROC are incompetent. My wife was in need of a complete knee replacement, although she didn't know it at the time. The team at ROC was unable to figure out how to x-ray her knee, so they gave her a shot and told her to exercise. When that didn't work, they sent her to physical therapy. Then they shrugged their shoulders and nearly gave up. Ten months after her first visit, the clinic finally figured out how to x-ray her knee. They were surprised to see how bad it was. At that point, they decided to get Dr. Black involved. According to Dr. Black's notes, the first thing he noticed when he saw my wife was that he thought she was ugly. That's right, he actually put that in his notes. He told her that she wouldn't be able to handle the surgery - that he didn't trust her to do what was needed. He wouldn't even tell us what was needed. He refused to operate on her and said she should get a wheelchair and live with the pain. read more

I saw Cole Hilliard today, (physician's assistant) to follow-up ongoing issues with my hip. He was wonderful, and I especially appreciate him taking the time to answer all of my questions and he was very patient! As he examined my hip he explained his findings as he was doing the examination. The front office personel are wonderful and the woman who brought me back to the examination room was great, very friendly. It had been a bit of time that I was waiting and she popped her head in to let me know that Cole would be right in.. =) An added bonus. I left the office feeling VERY informed. Saw PA Michael, for husband's knee exam. His approach to treatment was conservative, which is exactly what we were hoping for, given that we are we are still relatively young (early 30s). I would give a half star if it let me. First, I was sat down and asked what I was being seen for. I explained my shoulders and left middle finger, what my primary care referred me for to begin with, and what I covered when registering. I was told the doctor (Dr. Black) wont see me for all those so I have to choose one. I said and come back for the others? Really? Yes, but let me check with the doctor she said. She did and said the doctor told her he was really busy so I had to choose one. I choose one but then decided as I became agitated, having taken off from work for this, that I had better things to do than wait for a parts doctor. Let alone having to come back for each individual part! That's a good racket, one I would not even put up with from an auto repair shop! You'll like the waiting room also. Seats taped off for COVID, then they pack the appointments in so you cant sit down. Interesting concept. Find another place for your own safety, time and money! read more

I dislocated my shoulder on 10/20/23. This injury was worsened by having to wait over 6 hours to have the shoulder put back in the socket so lots of soft tissue damage and my biceps muscle was left unattached and hanging. The ER doc told me I had severe damage. I Made an appointment with Dr Huberty and waited a week to get in. Severely painful. Finally got to the appointment and Dr Huberty was not there. I was met by his PA who told me he had read the MRI of my shoulder and decided to treat it conservatively and to wear my sling and come back in a month. I was shocked. I got a second opinion from another shoulder doctor who treated me appropriately. I had to wait a month to get the rotator cuff repair and biceps muscle reattachment. The week after I saw the PA he did call back and say maybe I should get a nerve conduction study done( My upper & lower arm was about half numb and most of my hand.) Then he said come back after that. The nerve conduction study showed severe diffuse nerve damage in the brachial plexus region. Long story short I would have to say I was treated with complete disrespect and given erroneous information. I don't believe the PA was able to read the MRI or he would have known the damage was severe. He did not even look at my arm or examine it or he would have seen the biceps muscle hanging down in a big bulge above my elbow. I explained in detail the numbness in the arm and hand. Very disturbing. I was an RN for 30 years doing hospital nursing including surgery, post surgery, ER and ICU and step down ICU and I have never seen such blatant disregard for a very bad injury. I would definitely not trust getting appropriate care from this provider. The surgeon may be very skilled but the treatment I received was inadequate and inaccurate. read more

Repeat issues with difficulty getting ahold of anyone or getting any follow-up. The appointments available have also not been timely. I am well into my adult years, but the doctor would edge into talking to me like I'm a kid. Treatment advice and planning were also inconsistent. For example, I was given physical therapy as an option, so I did that for 6 weeks and when I came back the doctor told me he knew that wasn't going to do anything to help. The big thing that got me and was a "last straw" is that I accidentally found out that the doctor scheduled me to have the surgery done that I *did not* want. I was supposed to have a repair done and the surgery was scheduled for removal. I emphasized my desire for a repair *if* surgery was going to take place and had this conversation multiple times with the doctor. I was even fitted for a brace that was described to me as being necessary for the 6-week recovery. I only found out because I spent a month pushing to get staff to talk with me about health-related coverage for the recovery process. When I finally had someone on the phone, the nurse mentioned the name of the surgery and that recovery would only be a couple of days. When I insisted that wasn't correct, she talked to the doctor and confirmed that he had decided to look at the imaging and do a removal instead. *This was done without my knowledge and consent.* Which absolutely blows my mind and is a clear violation of the autonomy over my own body. read more

I couldn't have had better results. I went in for a rebuild of my right shoulder. I had a hundred percent recovery. I couldn't be happier.

Dr. Black is astonishingly arrogant. He was supposed to preform a meniscal repair on me. I have had multiple previous knee surgeries. So I am not uninformed. Dr. Black was very short, and condescending, he seemed irritated and even burdened by my intrigue and questioning. He had his assistant respond to my questions because he couldn't be bothered to take the time to discuss my concerns. Knowing he was an A-hole I was fine to proceed with the surgery as long as he did a good job. On the day of my surgery the anesthesiologist canceled last minute. I got a letter in the mail a week later from Dr. Black stating that he would no longer be my doctor. Simply put, Dr. Black is a jerk. Perhaps he is a decent surgeon but he should practice on robots instead because he clearly has disdain for humans. read more

The docs here are fine. But try to get an appointment and you can wait forever. First you have to go through the automated phone instructions, and then you finally push 3 for scheduling. You wait, and wait, and wait. Then you call back and try again. In desperation you pick the option to ask for a callback. And you wait, and three DAYS later someone calls back. In contrast I called a different orthopedist with another group. I reached a live person immediately, and I got an appointment in under five minutes. Guess where I decided to go.... read more
