I went here to see about an injection for me knee. The doctor was great and said I had a choice of 3 injections: cortisone, hyerlonoc, and one other. I then had to wait to schedule this until the injection was approved by Moda. Moda approved Efflexa, a certain brand, but this place doesn't have it. So I had to do the work to call Moda, and even the pharmacy where the injection comes from called me, before I got an approval letter for it. ROC said that they don't carry what was approved. What??????!!! Even Moda was confused. I'm just going to go to another orthopedic. I can't even call to talk to someone. Whoever replies to the texts lacks customer service. It has been about two weeks since I was there!! So Moda said to try someone else. Funny, they mentioned to me that ROC advertised Euflexxa. Tell your employees then. I'm so grateful I found this place! I recently had Dr. James Ballard at ROC do a total hip replacement for me and everyone from beginning to end (which hasn't come yet!) of this process has been absolutely amazing. From my first visit with Michael Garland PA-C to the post-op I just had with Dr. Ballard, the process has been easy and relatively pain-free, at least from a non-physical standpoint. Everything was explained in as much detail as I wanted and every question I asked was answered by a knowledgeable person. Everyone I've come in contact with - from the front office staff to the surgical staff - has been friendly, responsive, attentive, and communication through the app has been quick. I appreciate the use of modern technology with an app to keep up with my progress and to message the care team. When I need another ortho, I'll be calling ROC for sure. read more

If I could give them a zero star score I would. My husband had ankle surgery and what a disaster that turned out to be. 2 weeks after surgery we returned for the bandages to be removed. To our dismay he had developed necrotic skin (serious infection). The doctor picked off the dead skin, and had techs cast over it. No antibiotics and no show of concern. Fast forward 3 weeks and back to the office to take off the cast and review the progress. Now there was a hole on the top of his foot and the infection had obviously spread. Doctor wonderful was leaving on vacation, so he called another surgeon to fix his screw up. Surgery # 2 removed all of the dead tissue and place a mesh over the large hole in his foot. Surgery # 3 more surgery to remove dead tissue and replace the mesh. Still no antibiotics and a trip to the ER finally antibiotics were prescribed. Surgery #4 skin graft over the hole. #5 doctor wonderful removed all of the metal and screws he'd placed in his ankle to begin with. The infection now required high powered intravenous antibiotics that almost killed home He ended up in the hospital for 5 days. #6 we found a wonderful ankle surgeon in Seattle at UW. It took him 6 hours to fix the damage done by ROC orthopedic. All of this has been going on for going on 2 years. No apology. No concern expressed by doctor wonderful. Our lives have been turned upside down. I would add pictures of his ankle; but they are too gross. read more

This review is for Dr. Huberty. Oct. 2024 I had a right total shoulder replacement done. He had done the same thing to my left should a year before. If I could leave a 10 star review I would. Dr. Huberty did an amazing job. I have the best range of motion anyone could ever ask for . No pain what so ever. I can put my arm clear up the middle of my back. I have really good strength. Both of my shoulders turned out so well. I can not thank Dr. Huberty enough for what he did. He is the most friendly and polite Doctor which makes it even nicer. I really like Dr Jeffrey Feinblatt. Excellent at what he does and very likable and friendly.

Had (have?) a torn triceps muscle/tendon, and I was ordered to have an expedited MRI so that the Dr (Huberty) could put together a diagnosis and treatment plan. MRI results came in verifying the injury, but sadly, it looks like the Dr's don't work Fridays, and my injury can wait to be looked at after the weekend. Obviously, the expedited MRI (and attached costs) could have waited so that a treatment plan could be prepared outside of the Dr's golfing hours I'm not at all impressed with this place. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Hanzlik and his team at ROC. Dr. Hanzlik is extremely professional, knowledgeable, informative and has his patients best interest at heart. Before and after my Hip Arthroscopy, Dr. Hanzlik sincerely took the time needed to ensure I understood everything from beginning to end on the procedure itself and my recovery as well. Since my hip surgery, I have since seen Dr. Hanzlik twice for PRP injections on my hamstring attachment; not only have the results exceeded my expectations but so does Dr. Hanzlik with his genuine care and concern for his patients. Avoid this place at all cost, it's more of a circus than orthopedic center and after my experience just with scheduling or trying to communicate with my Doctor - I definitely don't trust them to perform surgery on me or anyone in my family. I'm frequently told the "doctor is too busy with other patients and not available" which is ironic because I am or was a patient. Hold times are absurd for scheduling and you are commonly +30 calls deep in queue with wait times of over an hour to speak to someone all to be told the doctor is too busy with other patients. And... if you do leave a message, don't hold your breath as more that likely it won't be translated to the doctor correctly and your request will get lost so then you get to call back and wait on hold again! Do yourself a favor, seek out a better option for a place that isn't too busy to make you feel like you, your health and your well being is a priority. The way this place is ran is a great example for exactly what's wrong with healthcare. My experience with this place has been a tire fire and hopefully I can pay it forward and save others a lot of time and aggravation. Again, find a different orthopedic group, one that'll make you feel like you and your well being are the priority. Being injured sucks, the medical group helping you shouldn't. read more

I have seen two great docs! dr's sedgewick and feinblatt! These guys are very concerned about the remedy and recovery! They talk to you not over you, answer questions and take the time to explain and listen. I can't remember the last time a doctor would spend as much time as needed to get you moving and on to a less painful lifestyle. All of the staff have been thoughtful, courteous, really a nice bunch! Go there when your bones are broken or out of alignment or just worn out! read more

I needed knee surgery about a year ago. Dr. Black was who I was referred to. Great Doctor. Great personality and friendly. Explained the whole process. Surgery went great and my knee feels like nothing was every wrong. Well, this year started having shoulder issues. After jumping through the hoops for the insurance company was referred back to Roc Orthopedic and to Dr. Black. Didnt know he worked on shoulders also. Had the surgery. Will be going back in next week for my post op check and take out my stitches. He did another fantastic job. 1 week after surgery and the shoulder feels better than before I went in. Have not heard about therapy yet to get my range of motion back. I would give Dr. Black and Roc Orthopedic an A+ read more

I am amazed at my recovery! I didn't even have to take any more pain pills the second day home after my total knee replacement surgery. No pain! After two weeks I was able to drive my and walk up and down my 13-step stairway with rapid ease like normal. Drive myself to do shopping and errands like back to normal by myself in 3-4 weeks. MY PT has flown by with much success and great strength that it is so hard to believe that my last total knee replacement was the complete opposite. ( I was so uncomfortable and in pain for so many months 3-4). I would highly recommend Dr Terrance Sedgewick as a fantastic surgeon. ***** Great personality too! read more

This place isn't great. They asked for a CT scan I had done at another location, and I told them it was mailed by the technician. They seemed like they didn't believe me. It was weird. The x-ray technician does not give clear directions and she was somewhat rude. She kept grabbing my foot, and manhandling it into place. My foot was fractured earlier this year and I was continuing to have pain and weakness. It certainly didn't feel good for her to move it and shove it around. After I went into a room, personalized with a vacuum and a Nuwave oven, I finally saw a doctor. He seemed nice enough. He did comment on my weight, which made me somewhat uncomfortable as this was the first and only time I have ever seen him. Other than that bit of awkwardness, he was fine. Overall, the equipment seems somewhat outdated. They even have their own patient portal that doesn't work properly. If I were to ever have any other issues, I would probably ask for a different referral to an orthopedic. read more

Trust each other with open communication is a must! Had an upper body doc and one for lower! I've got previous nerve damage an lots going on with that an this last experience is NO ONES FAULT! I'm a science project I get that. But the love of these doctors an the trust from both sides in my case a missed communication an to totally reject me from the whole ROC ortho.write letters describing I'm never to return was the most heartbreaking sits an still is! Y'all don't understand why or what my whole world had been a huge part in my hip surgery. I was really scared to even go there but my pain was horrific. So I did what was needed to get me through my day! I just wish my doctor would stop an realize I don't throw blame an didn't mean to do what happened an I needed help over all. Dr. Ballard damaged a nerve during surgery and put in the wrong size. (hip replacement).. As a result I still have, years later, a numb foot. In addition the longer leg caused my body to twist so I have difficulty walking. I could go on. What he said to me after the foot drop diagnosis and incredible pain was "things happen in surgery". His office then failed to make the required follow up appointments. That was not a problem as I would not have gone, but it is interesting. I am not even sure I needed the surgery as I was not in pain but I listen to his advice. I apologize for waiting so long to write this review. I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. I am sure he has performed many successful surgeries. But mine was a mess and his attitude and the horrible attitude of his assistant was astonishing. read more

I had Morton's Neuroma in both of my feet (for years!) before I got brave enough to look into fixing the issue (I made the mistake of getting on the internet and reading about this type of surgery, so I was reluctant.) I was referred to Dr. Feinblatt. After carefully doing the checks and balances we both decided I needed surgery. He did the right foot first. I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome and how quickly I was able to get to normal activities. After the healing was complete, we then did the left foot. Same good experience. I am so sorry I waited so long to seek help. Dr. Feinblatt did an outstanding job for me. My feet are much improved. It is obvious he is a no-nonsense physician who knows what he is doing. Dr. Bradford T Black was disrespectful, dismissive, and did not even complete his due diligence. I went in for an injury I had been dealing with for quite some time and had x-rays taken for. Upon arriving, we waited for over an hour between the waiting room and the exam room before we were seen. Once Dr. Black finally had the decency to meet with us, he asked for the story behind my injury. He frequently interrupted me, dismissed things that I had said or that other doctors had said regarding the injury, and reluctantly conducted a bare-bones range of motion test. After the range of motion test, he told me that I was fine. I protested as this had been an injury I had been dealing with for more than a year and he stated that if that was how I felt I should get an MRI and come back to see him. Upset with Dr. Black's gross negligence, I found another doctor who had no issues identifying the injury and started treatment immediately. He did not require a several-thousand dollar MRI like Dr. Black claimed he needed. He did not dismiss me, or interrupt me the way Dr. Black did. He found the problem quickly and even conducted another range of motion test which he determined was not at all congruent with Dr. Black's findings. After this awful experience, I later received a bill for over $200. I think it's disgusting that a medical practitioner can shrug off patients, bill them for doing nothing but wasting the patients time, and treat them with such blatant disrespect. This is not something that should go unnoticed as we rely on these professionals for our health and well being. Due to this, I will be contacting the Oregon Medical Board and informing them of everything that I experienced. It's obvious through the reviews on google and on yelp that I am not alone in these kinds of experiences, and I cannot believe this has been an issue for so many others. Please, don't continue to fill someones pockets for taking advantage of the sick and injured. Find a better practitioner that won't waste your time and money. What Dr. Bradford T Black is doing is not acceptable. Beware of this facility and this practitioner. read more

My Primary doctor referred me to ROC for a torn Meniscus in my right knee. (52 years old and it happens). All the staff were great and Dr. Black performed the surgery. It has been a good recovery (13 days now) and I am very happy with results. Pain was managed well and he only needed to make two very small holes to perform the procedure. Had this not been the only orthopedic services in knew of in Oregon City, I would not have gone there after my initial contact. Their phone system is awfully, sending me through automated loops and disconnection before I actually connecting with a live person. The office is behind another building, with no building #s or identifying signs visible from the main street. Once I found the building and the office, I was spoken to in a condescending and derisive tone, no personnel wore name tags,or identified themselves in any way. When I remarked on this, I was simply told that's not the way things are done here, and was argued with when I suggested it might relieve stress for patients and was told their patients weren't stressed. Who goes to a doctor if they're not experiencing some form of stress? I was referred for diagnostic imaging and was told by the fray tech I had a blood clot, and had to remain in her office while it took her 45 minutes to get through their phone system to inform them. She then told me I needed to go pick up a prescription from my pharmacy. That was 4 weeks ago, and in yet to hear from ROC with any follow up or explanation. I did call 3 weeks ago and asked to speak with a supervisor. I spoke to an assistant office manager, explaining the office manager was on vacation. She took copious notes of my complaints, said she would male sure the office manager would see them when she returned in 3days, and to expect a call from the office manager. The only communication I've had from them was an email I received yesterday informing me that they were passing on the cost of PPEs to the patients, so expect pay $20 at each office visit. If you don't care about bedside manner or customer service, I believe there medical knowledge and practices are good. I, however, expect to be treated courtesouly and like a person, not just anotherbody when I go for medical treatment, and would not recommend ROC, Oregon City to my enemy. read more

I had a left total knee replacement June of 2016. About 9 months ago I began having pain in my left knee. It gradually got worse and was radiating down to my shin. I made an appt to have it checked out. They did an x-ray of my left leg and I was told that the implant in my knee was loose due to faulty cement. I was referred to Dr Adams for a revision. I saw him and he said he needed to rule out an infection of my knee. He took some fluid off my knee and sent it to be tested. He said it would take 2 days to get the results. 13 days later I've heard nothing. I've called the office 4 times so far and no one has called me back. Either this office is totally incompetent, or else they just don't care. I'm finding another physician! read more

I went to see Mr Boyle, and he completely made up for the first appt,( who was with a different caregiver.) He took the time to hear what I had to say, which was one of my other complaints. I have ZERO complaints on the doctors at ROC. I have always been impressed by the friendliness of their staff and the care we have received from the three doctors we have seen for a broken shoulder and 2 hip surgeries. My only complaint is trying to get through on the phone. I have never been able to talk to someone the first time I call. After waiting for 20-30 minutes on hold I end up pressing "0" to have someone call me back later in the day, which sometimes is fine but today, not so much. So, off to the ER we go. And yet, when I am in the office I don't see them being hammered with phone calls which makes me wonder if they just take messages and don't even accept phone calls.
