LSS has a great atmosphere with friendly members and coaches that are always willing to help out, answer questions, or just talk about training. The quality and variety of equipment can't be beat, and the owners are always open to requests for new equipment you might need for your training. If that's not enough reason to check them out, they provide 24/7 access and the prices are the best in Lubbock. If you are looking to get strong, this is the place to be.

I have become increasingly disappointed in the YMCA. I was embarrassed to see the state it is in…read more Below are photos of the basketball goals. There are 6 basketball goals at the YMCA. Often 2 of the 6 are retracted and not in use. I have been given obviously lame excuses why the goals couldn't be lowered for use. Today only 1 goal was retracted. However, only 2 of the 6 goals had functional nets. One goal had exposed wire and is clearly an injury hazard. SEE PHOTOS. There have been numerous complaints about unsupervised children in the gym. Parents and children who are working on their basketball game find it nearly impossible to do here. Unfortunately, there is little alternative, in Plainview. In my experience with the YMCA leadership, I did not get the sense that the customer was a priority. I would like to see high school sports excel in Plainview. Having good sports facilities to keep the interest and excitement of the children is part of the formula for success. It needs to be a community that supports the kids. The YMCA needs to play their part. If we accept mediocrity, that is exactly what we will get. If we expect excellence, then nothing else is acceptable. However, the current conditions at the YMCA do not currently rise to mediocrity. Strive to do better for all of us.

No one ever asked if I needed any assistance. I saw a female trainer. she was talking to two ladies. She never acknowledged my presence, let alone ask if she could help or made an attempt to find someone that could help. I took a quick walk around the gym and left. it is most unwelcoming place on the planet. I joined Krunch instead. I also shared my experience with at 10 friends.

Everything was well maintained. Spacious for the space size. It was organized well. Lots of hammer strength machines which are some of my favorite. The power rack area is a little tight, but they have everything well maintained and stuff is super nice. Probably one of the better anytimes I have been to. My only beef with this gym is how far it is from where I stayed. But it's Lubbock where everything is 10 minutes away. So, while it's 10 minutes away after working in the hospital all day it just sucks. But if that's my only complaint then honestly, I don't have much to complain about here. Go sign up for this gym.
