This area is also home to MacKenzie Park Lake. Watching the water birds on the partially frozen water was both soothing and amusing on Christmas Day (2022). There were multiple benches, picnic areas, a playground, reserved picnic pavilions, restrooms, and a seasonal snack concession area. Entry was free at least during the winter. There was close access to Interstate 27. On the days my daughters & I visited, it was hard to tell if RVs & truck drivers would find this to be an easy pit stop to access as there were road closures due to a sewer renovation project.

Scottie and Laney were on it-super helpful with any and everything and were great with the kids. Every adult in attendance commented on their friendly professionalism. I don't have children of my own, but if the love my niece and nephew have for this place says anything, it must be great (I mean, the 4 year old wanted her party here)!
