They'll hand you a paper score sheet and pencil. I know. Crazy. But, calm down folks--it's not actually difficult to score a game of bowling. And, they have instructions on how to do it right on the sheet. Can you count to 10? You can keep score. I promise. The prices are reasonable ($3.50/per game/per person and $1.50 per person shoe rental). The proprietor is as sweet as apple pie (which is to say, a specific, home grown, utterly darling brand of sweetness). The only thing lacking is beer, greasy bowling alley eats, and The Dude from The Big Lebowski (seriously, this alley is SO The Big Lebowski, but the vibe is completely undone by the lack of beer and smoke). They don't allow any alcohol on the premises, actually. Which, seems to simply further drive home the wholesome 1950's vibe. They have a few cardio machines, but not many. They have three courts for raquetball. They have a dance studio. They have an indoor shooting range. It's $5 to get for the day. It's open early and closes late (6am-10pm?). They have some classes. I wish they had yoga. They also have some arcade games and a foosball table. They have a weight-room and and a locker room. Am I missing anything? The high school swimming pool also has open swim almost every day. That's free.

Not being a particular outdoors kind of person I was actually quite taken by Seminoe Reservoir. Of…read morecourse I went with my cousin in his boat which made it all the better! Nothing simple with him! At the actual state park during the tourist season which is summer, there is a little store at the south end of the reservoir where you can get groceries and things. Seminoe Reservoir is a series of reservoirs in this area and the most southern reservoir. North of this reservoir is Pathfinder Reservoir and Alcova Reservoir. Alcova Reservoir is right near Alcova so there are more goods and services offered there than at Seminoe. I don't know if there are any services offered at Pathfinder Reservoir. I was never there. You can boat all over the open part of the lake and then go up into the canyon right up to the dam to get a good look at it. Very nice scenery but a bit too hot and arid for my tastes. I was raised in the mountians so I am not used to the desert as much. We had a great night out on the boat with my cousin and his dogs. Dogs are always fun aren't they? When we left the next day the boat ramp was a bit steep to get the boat back on the trailer and people were waiting on us to get their boats out on the water. Probably loading a boat in the first place is a two man job. I was there with my cousin but I had no idea what I was doing when it came to loading a boat so really he was loading the boat himself. Despite that little tiff and note of aggravation coming from my cousin the trip all in all was quite fun for this housefly!
