During a service call the equipment being used malfunctioned and broke in my pipe, it took several days to locate the broken snake, which resulted in drywall being cut out in multiple places in my home. Eventually, the snake was found. now the business will not repair all the damage they caused in my home. Please note I paid them $800 plus the initial $150 for the initial service. This mistake will cost me an additional $800 to $1000 to fix my drywall. Buyer beware this company will take advantage of you if you are an elderly person. the $800 paid to them should not have been paid due to the hours occurred at my home were spent looking for an item of theirs that broke, not for what they were hired to do in the first place. read more

My kitchen sink drain plugged up and my attempts to unplug it were unsuccessful. So I called my heating/cooling contractor (Tonna Mechanical) and they immediately recommended Rochester Drain-Rite without my even asking for a recommendation. I called RDR and they gave me a same day appointment. The technician arrived on time after sending me a text stating that he was on his way. I showed him the situation and he brought in his electric powered snake and sent it in 50 ft. Surprisingly it didn't unplug the drain. So he next connected a water hose to the nearby wash tub and inserted the other end (with some sort of gadget attached) into the drain pipe and then turned on the tub faucet to pressurize the drain line. After a short time a noticeable pop was heard and the drain was then determined to be now clear. He and I then discussed the situation afterwards and it was determined that the cause of the plug was a bowl of rice that had been earlier send down the garbage disposal. The rice got wet and expanded in the drain pipe and completely plugged it. The technician (Herald) was obviously knowledgeable and competent and did a professional job. He stated that rice (and sometimes egg shells) was the number one cause of plugs like mine. He also noticed that there was a slight leak in the drain piping under the sink which he also fixed by replacing some piping and seals. Before leaving he completely cleaned up the area. It was a job well done and I was happy with the result and was also happy with the fee that was charged. He came on a Saturday morning, which I really appreciated because I was amassing a fair amount of dishes that needed washing. Bob was so nice and thorough. Normally, most repair people seem grumpy, don't want to make small talk, and generally don't say much. Bob was so friendly, it made me, as a female who was home alone, feel safe and at-ease.
