I had a new furnace installed. They forgot to tighten the connection from gas line to furnace and vibration loosened it three days later creating a gas leak enough to potentially blow my entire house up. Thankfully I discovered it and it was quickly addressed. I was unimpressed with the furnace because it was blowing air all the time and felt drafty in my house. Then two weeks after furnace installed I went out to side of house to do something and discovered AC was running. They had wired the furnace wrong and both the furnace and air conditioner were running 24/7 for two weeks, competing with one another. If I had to do it over, I would go with another company. read more

Way over priced. I just wanted to make sure the softener was working. They spent about 15 minutes and explained how to read the digital display and what information it was providing. I was told all was working well. Then they gave me the bill for $174. HiWay robber, if you ask me. I could understand $50 but $174 give me a break! read more

They were supposed to have everything set so I could set the toilet. Apparently, they couldn't be bothered with using a measuring tape to ensure it was set square to the wall. 3/4 inch difference is a huge gap. Bolts can't be adjusted because of the lack of foresight in setting the ring. It appears quality is not important priority. From what I can tell there is more importance set in charging a monthly membership fee. read more

I've experienced issues with my heating system and recently signed up for the Comfort Club at $20 per month ($240 per year), which covers a dispatch fee of $81. When the technician arrived, they simply replaced a filter I already had on hand, a task that took about five minutes, told me to use distill water in my humidifier and I was subsequently charged $130. This is after dispatch fee and 15% comfort memeber discount. Service would of been $155 for non memebrs. They are charging you $81 to talk to a few ladies in the front desk and $155 just for a tech to come out to your place! When I called to cancel my membership just four days after signing up, I was informed of a $50 cancellation fee as well as the $81 dispatch fee since I am cancelling. Although I have used their services multiple times in the past and found them satisfactory, the current approach of charging excessively for minimal service, such as changing a filter, is disappointing. It appears that they prioritize profit over genuinely helping their customers, which is why I cannot recommend their services. Service was great but find someone who cares about you more than they care about charging you! read more

Sump pump died during off-and-on rainy weather. They came out and while replacing it drove back and forth to their warehouses while an *active tornado* was touching down across town to make sure I had the right parts and something that functioned. read more

In comparison to other local companies that I reached out to they were the only ones that gave me a reasonable quote for a new AC unit. Other companies in the area were quoting me above $10,000 to $15000 for a new AC unit in a townhome!!!!! Rediculous! Tonna was so kind from the start. Great customer service over the phone. They were prompt and quick with the analysis of what was wrong with the AC unit. Did a quick repair.

I called Tonna to come fix an upper shower drain leak into a basement bedroom. Tonna spent the entire day running all over Rochester because they did not have the correct plumbing parts and then charged me at the end for all the time it took them to drive around Rochester!! Whats worse is they had to cut a 2x4 hole in my ceiling in order to get to the drain that cost me $1,000 in repairs that they would not cover!! Then to make it even worse the repair was no done correctly and is back again!! They refuse to stand by their work and told me I would have to cover their dispatch fee and repair fee again!! read more

I bought a new home and Tonna installed the HVAC system. About a month after we moved in the unit stopped working. I called and a technician (Jamie) arrived that day. He was professional, efficient, and helpful. Parts had to be ordered but he had us running temporarily. The unit quit completely the next day so I called the after hours number and Dan was great...The next day they were in touch (Rhonda was very helpful!) to schedule repairs and Jamie has us going very quickly...great service!! read more

We recently signed up with Tonna Mechanical for one of their service plans. Today was our HVAC Fall inspection. We had a similar plan with a different company when we lived in the Kansas City area. The plan from Tonna Mechanical is half the monthly cost and the technician, Jamie, was extremely professional and thorough. In addition to going over our furnace in detail, he also checked our gas lines for leaks, inspected our water heater, and cleaned our air exchange unit. He also took the time to completely explain the air exchange unit to me, which I confess I did not completely understand. During the wrap up, he also explained that we were eligible for a rebate (once every two years) from Minnesota Energy Resources for having our furnace checked and provided me with the forms needed to obtain the rebate. It was an extremely pleasant surprise. He was on time, did his job, and treated us and our home with respect. I'm very pleased that I signed up for a Service Plan with Tonna Mechanical. read more

My faucet water line started to leak and I didn't know what to do. Tonna Mechanical came out but their prices seemed a bit high. All in all, they did a decent job but I just needed a plumber ASAP. I heard about Prembu Plumbing Services that also serve the Rochester MN area and apparently they have some of the best plumbers out there with affordable pricing. Service guy was horrible..!! He gave me a quote of $350 right away not even checking out if it was a leak somewhere or low on refrigerant with my AC unit.. I paid the $89 service fee.. I appreciate the many service calls and conversations on how different measurement devices can come up with such variable temperature and humidity readings. Within 10 years I've practically paid for the same heat and air system twice. Finally replaced the mother board, reconnected loose wires, and am ready start all over again. read more

Good, great, fabulous, wonderful. That sums it up. I know zilch about heaters and AC's. But, I know when my heater doesn't work and it is 10 below. What I didn't know is where to call. Based on Google searches and reviews, I knew a few companies to steer clear of and decided to take a chance on Tonna. Unfortunately, my heater is a million years old and needed a specialty part. I called around and really, it was a specialty part. We had to order from the manufacturer and, the best they could do was overnight it. So, that left me in a very cold house for the night. Tonna offered to bring over heaters and they brought 4 over, at no charge, right away. It helped me make it through the night. They were very professional and seemed very fair (though, again, I dont really know how much thing should have cost). But, the fact that they made an extra trip to their warehouse to get heaters and bring them to me for free - sold me. read more

Our furnace had a cracked heat exchanger. They replaced our 18 yr old unit with a similar Carrier. They offered us space heaters to survive the 2 days. We didn't need them, our gas fireplace did the trick. I'm happy with it and it cost 1/2 of what I suspected. read more

Absolutely perfect experience. I had to call after hours when my furnace stopped running on a Sunday. My call was answered promptly and I was quickly contacted by a technician, Randall. He was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. He was respectful of my work schedule and came out at 9 pm after he tried to troubleshoot the problem over the phone. He quickly found the problem and patiently explained it to me. He gave me some very useful maintenance tips. We came home from a day trip to Minneapolis to find a giant leak in the plumbing in our basement. Even though it was a Saturday night, Tonna was able to send a plumber out within an hour and a half of our call (he was at another call just before us). Brian was efficient and very friendly. Do not use them if you have an alternative. We have been without hot water for five days. They ordered the wrong part for a hot water heater we installed through them less than 2 years ago. Instead of just driving to the twin cities to get us the correct part they let it filter down through the mail. when I called today to complain about not having hot water. The manager of the office actually laughed during our conversation. We have 4 boys and have had not hot water for a week. They think it is funny some how and do not go out of their way to correct their own mistake. If they would have told us it was in the twin cities we would have just drove and got the part down here and done their job for them. Bad customer service. I just used Tonna Mechanical to replace my home air-conditioning unit and I couldn't be happier. After my AC went out two days ago I called and they had someone here within an hour. Upon learning that I needed to replace the unit they had one of their sales guys here in another hour. 24 hours later I had a new air-conditioning unit installed and working. If the technician was a lawyer, I may understand why his time cost so much, just came to our house for 1 10 min chat, they charged me $200! Ridiculous!! I needed a replacement kitchen faucet and requested the most basic. I was quoted 445.77 for the Moen 7430 Chateau, plus 89.00 for the service call. The amount was shocking but I trusted Tonna. The day after installation, the guys returned to attach the Pur water filter, for which I was billed an additional 89.00. I learned that this particular faucet is priced at 86.52. If you need a faucet replacement, I suggest you look elsewhere. read more
