I recently financed my car that was initially a lease due to a few different factors and had to get some new tires on the ride along with a front end alignment. I knew it needed to be done, and really had zero interest in dealing with Belle Tire or Discount tire as their wait times are horrendous and I wanted to see who else was out there. Rochester Hills Tire is literally 2 miles from my house and I figured why not, lets go talk to them about tires and an alignment and see how it goes. My first visit, I went in and a really nice gentleman who was the manager helped me and was super cool about what needed to be done. (it was more of an inquiry on my part.) He talked to me about tires, cost and all that good fun stuff. I was happy with my experience and told him I'd be back in a few weeks to get the tires and alignment done. The shop itself is very clean and well maintained, and my first initial experience was fabulous. I didn't feel like I was getting sold on extra services, the guys here are honest and they run a good shop. I was able to drop the car off on a Friday after work since their open until 6 PM so they could do the 4 new tires and alignment early on a Saturday. Another nice guy checked me in and got all my info and took my keys. By 10 AM Saturday, my car was done! I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and efficiently they worked and not an all day wait on tires and an alignment. The staff here really worked with me when I told them what I was looking for and didn't try to sell me tires that I did not need or want, which I greatly appreciate. I don't think they do appointments here in general, but they are a very busy shop which is a great sign. If for some reason you have to wait for you car, downtown Rochester has some restaurants and a coffee shop that you can walk a short distance to in any weather to hang out while they do the work on the car. I think they do mechanical work as well, but my car's not at that point yet, so I'm not experienced. I did ask if I were to get a flat tire they said to bring it in and they can repair it for $20. Discount tire does it for free, but again, be prepared to wait a long time. Not necessarily here, which is fabulous. Even if I did have to wait I know that they would do a good job. Overall I'm really happy with my experience here. The men at the counter work super hard, got me where I needed to go, were professional and listened to my concerns. Tires aren't cheap and it's a lot of money no matter how you cut it. Thank you Rochester Tire, you've won over a new person. I feel great after my experience here, and I'm grateful that you're here! My only suggestion's maybe some comfy chairs in the lobby to sit in to wait as the ones you have don't look so comfy. New COMFY chairs for the lobby please! read more

Came in for a tire repair at 2pm. They gave me an estimate for 5pm. Didn't start servicing until 5:50. Within 10 minutes they said "no charge" to the job. That's because they actually didn't fix my flat tire. They just filled it with air and my car was back to 0 PSI within an hour at home. Terrible service with a smile. read more

Brought my various fleet cars here for a while, but now I head to the goodyear down the street. Not that they didn't get the job done here. Mostly it was oil changes, and to be fair, even when busy, they got it done in less then 2 hours. But some of the customer service was not great. One guy in particular was always rude and what I would describe as a typical know it all car guy. Now, if he had just taken a few seconds and listened to me, I would probably still be going here, but for lack of a better term, the dude was a jerk. If you are going to be a know it all, at least bring some knowledge. In the couple times I interacted with this individual, he didn't answer my questions and scoffed at the issues I was having with the car. So took the business elsewhere. Looking back at the interactions, I should have told the guy to take a flying leap into a lake filled with manure, but didn't want to sink to his level. So, if you bring in your car, and an individual trays you poorly, Ask for the manager or someone else. There are plenty of other people who work here that are great and friendly to deal with. This place is old school service. Had two tires that needed to be patched. Called on a Saturday to see if they could do it. Guy picked right up and said drop it off. When I got there the place was packed with cars. The same guy remembered talking to me on the phone. I was checking in 5 mins great. I've had my 2000 Jeep Cherokee worked on here and they've always done a good job but today they out did themselves. I was told that the front end noise I was hearing was a bad trans axle. A used one plus labor was about $1100. They called today to say that they also found a cracked transmission mount with the part being $135 plus labor. Later in the day they called and said that the trans mount was the problem all along and the trans axle is fine. My final bill was a fraction of what I expected. BIG shout-out to John and Marc at Rochester Hills Tire and Service. I have been going there for over 20 years, and they have saved my vehicles countless times...with honesty, integrity and reasonable pricing. I will never EVER go anywhere else. Today, I dropped by there because my "Bulb failure Position lamp" vehicle message came on about a week ago, and I discovered that my license plate bulb was out. Thankfully Marc warned me that they probably didn't have a license plate bulb to fit my Volvo S80, so I had already gone online (thanks Rockauto.com), purchased a set of 2 plate lamps (for a whopping $3.50, INCLUDING shipping), and brought it with me. Upon arrival, they replaced the set of 2 license lamp bulbs for me - no charge. I left there, but less than a minute later...the "Bulb failure Position Lamp" vehicle message came back on. I turned around, and Marc discovered that my right running light was now out. And (unlike the license plate bulb) THIS bulb is a **PITA** to replace (takes baby hands and a magical spell to get to it). But they replaced it (had one in stock), checked that all the other bulbs were working... and 15 minutes later I was on my way again....again no charge. No sooner had I driven another 2 blocks, my "Bulb failure Position Lamp" vehicle message came BACK on. Back to the garage, and for some reason, the right running light was out again. 15 minutes and a new bulb later, I was on my way again...and again no charge. I would give 6 stars if I could! I've been going to these guys for almost 20 years and they have treated me excellent every time I have taken any of my vehicles in for service. Customer service? I think they wrote the book on it! The staff, both up front and in the back, take an interest in your vehicle as if it were their very own. They stand by their work and parts 100% and do what it takes to make sure you are a very satisfied customer. Top Notch! My car needed work and after spending $80 just to have it looked at another shop, I took it to RH Tire. They said they charge $40 to diagnose and would apply that to the cost to repair it. It needed $300 in work and I didn't have the time to leave it there so I asked if I could bring it back the following week. They agreed, never charged me the $40 that day. That's rare! I've known the owner since he was a technician at Speedy in Rochester. I stayed with him when he struck out on his own to be a traveling mechanic, and working on cars out of his garage. Why? I have to say that I was absolutely amazed with the great customer service and great attitude displayed by everybody there and especially by Cory. I went in with a problem that, while not a major one, meant that I really couldn't drive the vehicle. The rear bumper had, due simply to the age of the car, had snapped off on one side so I had to strap it together just to get it to the tire store. Cory originally figured it might be a few hours before they could get it done as there were other customers there (whom also appeared to be getting good service) and I told him I was happy to wait but a few minutes later he came back to me and said he figured out how they could fix the problem quickly and have me on my way. Sure enough, within 20 minutes or less the fix was professionally done and I was happily back on the road. The best part is that, because we happen to be regular customers there Cory didn't even bother charging us for the work even though he should have. These people are honest and ethical and they do things and treat customers the way customers want to be treated. I will NEVER take my car anywhere else. I happen to live in both Arizona and Michigan and I wish there were a business like this where I live in Arizona. Stopped tonight on the way home because of something dragging under my front bumper. They were very busy, but when I told the gentleman who greeted me why I was there he took my keys and drove my car to a bay. Yesterday my car died on me while I was driving on my way to work. I had my car towed here and they were phenomenal. They couldn't find an issue but tested my car and drove it around all day to make sure it wouldn't act up again on me. Because they didn't actually "fix" anything they didn't charge me at all despite having done labor and tests on it all day. They also filled my gas tank back up a little more than it was when I dropped it off. This place is phenomenal and will have my business for life! read more

5 stars. This is the ONLY mechanic that has ever told me my car was fine and required no repairs. I brought my 2008 Ford Fusion in for a general inspection and to diagnose a fluid leak. Turns out my oil filter wasn't fully seated (following an oil change at Magic Touch in Troy, MI). They tightened the filter, topped off the oil, checked brakes, etc. and called me to let me know my car was fine! Best part - I picked up the car and the invoice was $0.00. Unbelievable! Was it a simple ploy to build trust on an initial visit, setting up a customer for future money grabs? I don't think so ... this wasn't my first visit. I've brought my car to these guys in the past and have spent a fair amount of $$ on tires and other repairs, all of which were well executed. They win my business. read more

Not sure where all the rave reviews are coming from. They aren't a nightmare, but they seem to be the typical tire sales shop. I brought a flat there mainly because I am new to the area and have no idea who is decent and who is a crook. Took a few days for them to fix it, which was understandable because they were crazy busy, but they somehow managed to tell me it was done only for me to find that when I came in it had not even been looked at. They didn't charge me which was nice and to be honest, I thought it was because they couldn't get their communication together. It may have been because it didn't need a patch (leaky valve stem? I don't know). I was lucky enough to get 2 flat tires just a week later (not their fault). I brought the car in and amazingly they were able to put all new tires on in an hour. I appreciated the fast work, but thought it was interesting they didn't fix a flat in 3 days but were more than happy to throw on $600 in tires lightning fast. So, expect good service if you're paying (it seems). Lastly, I wasn't too keen on the fact that when it was determined I needed 4 new tires, they called me up and offered (of course) 4 high performance tires. Now granted I had decent tires on there and I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt of him having made an attempt to offer me something analogous- however, when I informed him that I am a poor student and didn't need high performance tires, he basically said I had no options and sort of put me in that uncomfortable position where I either paid up or I was looking for a host of more problems (this is a bit of hyperbole, but I won't transcribe the conversation of course). My advice would be to do a better job of offering options to a customer rather than saying "we have this one expensive tire and I really can't do much else because everything else is crap". Because yes, you got my money, but I am still looking for a shop to call home and will be frank about my situation with the other students in my class. No hard feelings though. read more
