My first time working with Kerner's. Big Thanks to Kyle and the team there for making my car (and me) happy again! I asked them to perform an alignment on my Mazda this week after I replaced the suspension components myself a couple months ago. In doing so I had screwed up the alignment enough that I thought it would spin out without warning! They were a bit reluctant obviously because I had done the work (and I was reluctant to ask them) but they were able to find and correct the error to make my car drive straight and true again. Once they were able to get around to my car, they did an inspection and found a washer that I'd installed in the wrong place! :-D They were then able to realign the wheels relatively quickly and easily. And the cost was slightly less than other places I'd surveyed. (I was worried they might lose money on this job.) I no longer fear my car will spin out from misalignment. And now I can get new tires without worrying about chewing them up! They gave me the before-and-after numbers, so if the tire place tries to say I need an alignment, I can just wave that at them. :-D Really hope I get to work with Kerner's in the future. Took my old Durango in because engine light was on and car was shaking when accelerating. Very nice, friendly employees and mechanics. They replaced the upper ball and arm on front passenger side, and patched up some leaky old tires. Expensive parts, $600. Mechanic wanted me to add on a few more services for $300-$500 each. Said that car still shook and engine light still on. So, paid bill and drove away with engine light on and car shaking. Pretty disappointed. Won't return because they charged so much and problem wasn't fixed. read more

My vehicle was towed to this shop on a Tuesday night. First thing wed morning I identified that my tire had come off and I need to make sure it's okay to drive. I was told before I left that they would be able to get back me by late morning. I after not hearing from anyone I call around 1pm and was told that they just needed to evaluate my Hub to make sure it wasn't any damage but everything else looked good and they would be able to throw back on my original tire and I would be good to go. I go up to the shop around 3pm and I notice my truck in the same exact spot that I left it in at 9 pm the previous night still covered in snow. Talking to the individual at the counter to check status he tells me my vehicle was next to be brought in the garage, contradicting what I was told on the phone I just ask that they call me when they have information. I return close to closing because from my understanding they close at 6 and it is now 5:30 being able to get some information at this point has to be available. Once coming back to the shop, I am informed that my tire and rim is both busted so that since I did not have a spare at this point, they would have to look for a tire and rim in the am. Now this contradicts what I was told earlier regarding my tire being in good condition to go back on my truck, but that made me to believe I was getting the run around all day because again if they properly looked at my tire, they would have been able to determine it was no good. But whatever the vehicle is here and now the next day they should be able to get me taken care of and out the door soon as possible cause I'm going on day two and all I need is a tire and rim. The next day as follows on Thursday and again my car as been here since the start of the work day Wednesday. I ended up calling up to the shop because here it is late morning and I have yet to hear back from anybody. I call around 1030am and I am not giving a update because they at the time stated they would call me back in about 30 mins. After more than 2 hours I call back and then was giving information on the price for a rim and tire. I agree then they state they would give me a call once its all done. At 6 I call to check status they tell me quickly oh "we won't be done until the morning with your truck, we haven't even gotten the tire on the truck" I rebuttal how it's been two days and all you guys are doing is putting on a tire and rim. He then advised me that he would try his best to have it finished by closing and call me back. Of course, I didn't get a call back so I call back right at closing and I got a phone rep who stated he thought I was told it would be done tomorrow (Friday). I then state I'm on my way to the shop so I can get this information face to face. As I get to the shop, I see my truck outside with all four tires on and was old I could get my car right now if I sign a release (fuck no) The counter rep proceeded to tell me that in the morning the mechanic comes in, in the morning and they can do a assessment to confirm its good to go. At this time the person that originally that was typing out the release form was what I remember to be Jason, the manager. He then asks me to fill him in with the situation because he wasn't aware of what was going on. He advised that my vehicle would be done by tomorrow at 10am and he would see to it personally. The next day at 10 they did call me and tell me my car was safe to drive after completely a full diagnostic on my vehicle, they did advise me of issues with my car that I needed to give attention to and even after they asked if I wanted them to do it I strongly declined based on the amount of time they had my car for the little work they did, no way I would keep it there any longer. I go pick up my vehicle and $377 dollars was my total charge that they took down to $277 for a used rim and tire and I assume they charged me for room and board for my truck. With Kerners we have had my sons car repaired with out any problems My car is older and I would like to keep it for as long as I can and so far Kerners has helped me keep it running. I grew up close to this shop and used them all the time while growing up. Since then I moved away and have been using my local belle tire. This time around Belle Tire quoted me rather high so I decided to take it back to Kerner's and they fixed it for a fraction of the cost and got it done quickly. Speaking in terms of history, they have changed ownership and management a few times. However they have always been trustworthy and never try to upcharge. They always have focused on fixing the immediate problem. This is why I have and will always recommend them to all my friends and family. read more

Highly recommend Kerner's. They recently worked on my vehicle. The inspection report was sent to me with pictures. I received a phone call to go over the report and estimate. Jason broke the estimate up in chunks in case I did not want to do it all at one time with vehicle safety as the priority. Even during quarantine they were able to get my car fixed in a few days. And I received a free loaner vehicle so I was not inconvenienced at all. Will definitely be using them for all my vehicle needs from now on! read more

Took a car in as it was jerking during deceleration. Kerner's replaced the front brakes. The problem was still there. Took the car in two days later and they worked on the rear brakes. Picked up the car and on the way home the car was still jerking when decelerating. The second time I picked up my car the office clerk did not have a written account of the work that had been done. Her attitude was quite poor when I stated that I needed a written accounting of the work done. I will have to take the car to another auto service business to see if they can figure out what is causing the car to jerk. read more

Was recommended by a neighbor to use Kerner's. I have a 2014 Town and Country that needed a tune up and fluids changed out. The price was competitive and fair. The car was ready when promised. There ended up being an issue after the work was done. A fuel line came off and the engine stopped running. Kerner's sent out a tow truck, fixed it issue, and dropped my van at my home. Mistakes happen and they made it right. It was a minor inconvenience. I am very happy with the service I received. read more

I brought my old (2010 Kia Soul) car for front suspension inspection (noise in the front driver side). They found out that the driver side bracket caliper has the two pin slides broken. They estimated that the car needs new front calipers, new front brake disks, new passenger side strut assembly, brake system fluid flushed. A total of over 850$. The two pin slides cost 10.99 at Autozone. It is unbelievable how the management of this business operate! They wanted to charge me 850$ for a very small job! The mechanic that was in charge with my car tried to avoid me, he knew how managers rip off its clients. But probably he needs to make a living, not matter how. I wouldn't have publicize this issue, but Cody, the right hand of the manager and Jason (the boss) seemed irritated that I asked the evaluation fee returned. Be careful, they will charge you 2-3 times more that your car needs. Find another place, or accept to be ripped off! read more

I've used Kerners for years, but recently I haven't been so satisfied. The last time I took my car in for an oil change, the technician left a huge grease hand stain on my interior that I can't get off. I asked them to look at a rattle on my left rear shock. When they returned my keys, I asked about it and the mechanic said "I don't even want to deal with it." Without any further explanation. What does that even mean? I gave them three out of five stars because at least they're honest guys. Just make sure you ask for a specific mechanic because it seems the new guys they've hired are sloppy and careless. I think I'm going to start taking my car elsewhere. I also forgot that one time I had my tires rotated here and they stripped a lug nut when they put one of the tires back on and a week or so later I hit a pot hole and popped it. Four fire fighters couldn't get the lug nut off and said the other ones were on too tight as well. I ended up having to get my car towed there and a new lug nut! read more

Service on the vehicle was good and once I talked to the owner I felt better. The guy at the front counter in the morning when I brought my car in made me feel like I was ruining his day by bringing my car in for service. He asked me to review the workorder to ensure everything was correct. When I pointed out my steering was not "loose" but rather lost power assist. He huffed, and snapped at me that "lose" was what he meant. I wonder if the mechanic would know that was what he meant? It is a shame but I will never use this facility again because of his poor attitude read more

Very clean professional looking place. Seems to be modelled after a dealership. And like a dealership there comes cost. Asked for a price and breakdown of parts and labor and they provided it however when I asked if I could bring my own parts they had two options yes or no...but they had a third, yes but our labor goes up. What? That's not right. A brake rotor is a brake rotor the cost to install it should not be based on the part source. Fine, I of course need my vehicle. They quoted me a price (now higher because I brought in my parts) and it was about $60 higher. I asked what the discrepancy is for. They say diagnosis fee...every other place I have gone the diagnosis fee is to prevent people from getting a diagnosis and saying no thanks and doing it themselves but if you get the work done there the diagnosis fee is waived. Understand they charged a fee to diagnose the vehicle, which requires some teardown. Now my vehicle is torn down waiting to be worked on. They get the parts and put them on and reassemble. But the labor is to tear down and install and put back together. So this is the equivalent of double billing. Pretty shady. I pointed out that other places waive the diagnostic fee and not a word just asked me to sign the paperwork. I am sure the work is quality and if you don't mind a little shady billing and paying a premium on parts they should be fine. But if you want to get get the best value for your hard earned money then go elsewhere. read more

I'm in town for 3 days to visit with the in-laws and all hell broke loose. During a 3am drive to the store for medicine my a/c went out. I called this place just because of the reviews on yelp and they helped! I told them the a/c wasn't working and that we need to drive home to Chicago today. They told me to come right over, then they lost power! Argh! But these guys hooked up their generator and got my car fixed up so we could get on the road. They were so quick and got us out so we didn't lose too much time getting home! read more

Do not go here. I took my car here to get an exhaust leak fixed and had to take it back three times because they just put a temporary fix that lasted maybe a week each time. When I picked up my car the last time I could not even drive it down the road. The mechanic said he just cleaned the throttle body, this is an electrical throttle body not mechanical. You are never suppose to touch an electrical throttle body, this ruins your car. After that I gave up and never went back. Save yourself the time and money from these ignorant mechanics. read more

Replaced my transmission in May. Transmission still under warranty. Transmission failed again in November. Returned to Kerner's. Took forever just to have them look at it. Finally they repair it and then tell us it's $120 for "fluids." I disputed this because if it weren't for the poorly replaced transmission, we wouldn't have needed fluids. He then tried to say it was our fault because we were towing something. We don't even have a hitch. I tried to explain that it was a week before Christmas and that money had to go to presents. I also stated they didn't mention money before actually repairing. He told me he had to pay $645 to replace that transmission so his kids wouldn't have presents either which was not true I'm sure. He told me I wasn't right with God and had to live with myself. I threw my $120 at him and left crying. Horrible horrible experience! read more

I will never go to this place again. The only person who was kind and helpful was Megan. Not sure her tittle. Mike was arrogant and Nick treated me like I was just a number. We talked about my repair and I thought I understood the process of using my insurance. When I took it in he was supposed to call them to confirm my coverage. I understood that he would do that while I was there. Instead he said I had to leave my car there while he figured out the paperwork. He knew what my repair was but didn't even confirm that they had the right parts. So I was just supposed to leave my car without confirming coverage and not knowing when the work would be completed. He actually said, "Do you see all the cars I have to work on!" Meaning, "Lady, you don't matter to me. Just leave your car and I'll get to it when I get to it!" I'm sure this place has loyal customers but they made me feel like a dumb woman. News for them, I'm not dumb. And if this review sounds like I'm a bitch with an issue about men, you are wrong. I'm a woman who demands respect from people who I pay to do their job and put customers first. I pay respect to people who deserve it. Just because you are a good mechanic or whatever you do does not mean you have any semblance of how to talk to your customers. Maybe you should leave that to Megan. I took my car in for a front end alignment, they told me i needed parts to a tune of over $400. I told them OK and picked my car up when it was completed. The following week I called and asked if they did rear wheel alignments and was told no so I had to go to Belle tire. To align the rear tires you need to clamp the front tires and use that alignment also but as the mechanic at Belle tire showed me there was movement on the front end due to a bad tie rod end on the same side that Kerners replaced the other parts and performed a front end alignment. $325 later and the front end re-aligned and the back tires aligned I drove away from Belle tire a happy customer. Funny thing is that Kerners called (never did before with previous work done) and asked if everything was OK with the Sebring. I called them back 3 times to talk to somebody and each time I was told that I would get a phone call from the manager and each time no call. Seems strange that they chose this time to call and ask if everything was OK with the Sebring and it was not. I would have appreciated an explanation as to how this happened and maybe some credit towards future repair work (Kerners charged $50 for front end alignment that I had to pay Belle tire to do again) but unfortunately I do not see me using Kerners service center again. read more
