Sarah is fantastic! She released so much pain and helped a bunch of my arthritic issues and sciatica. I'm a new regular!

If it wasn't for the front desk staff (Kathleen?), another masseuse and the owner(Nic) making me feel welcome, I would probably give this place a 1 or 2 star (if it was based on just my massage experience). I will likely try this place one more time with another massage therapist and revise my review appropriately, as I did really like how I was treated before and after the massage and because I came to this place seeing that it has some great reviews. So, here we go: Pros: 1. Welcoming staff. 2.Good costumer service after the fact 3. Quaint feel Cons: *1. The massage therapist's service--no continuity/flow in the massage, she jumped from one body part to another haphazardly and quickly (within a minute she would jump from my shoulders, to my shins,back to my shoulders), pressure of massage was also not uniform and seemed haphazard as well; --I felt stressed during/end of the massage 2. The massage therapist's commentary--I heard about medication she was taking and then not taking, I heard about her dog, I heard about her sister, I heard about sunglasses she took off a rack at a store-- multiple topics that jumped around quickly as well. 3.Not sure what the scent was at the time of the massage, but this was not something that I preferred--I realize that this point is more subjective of an experience and that others may be fine with the scent--this point did NOT contribute to the star rating. -I got this massage in 2017. I did not return for an additional massage, but would still consider getting another one here, but with a different massage therapist. read more

First of all, I just have to say this place is amazing! The energy of the space is very comfortable, relaxing and homey. They have a little wellness bar with every kind of herbal tea imaginable! Kelli is amazing and very skilled with her techniques. She's very intuitive about her practice and puts her lovely energy into every session! Highly recommend! read more

This was one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had at a massage therapy place. The staff were very unprofessional and walking around the waiting room without shoes on eating their lunches while clients were piling up in the waiting room. As I was waiting for my appointment, that I arrived 15 minutes early to, I heard the receptionist say that she hopes my therapist shows up soon since I was already there. There was also no music or sound machines of any kind in the rooms which made the actual session somewhat awkward and uncomfortable- especially when one of the staff members began to loudly vacuum outside the door occasionally banging the vacuum against it (how relaxing). On to my actual "treatment". I was on day five of a cluster migraine and desperately looking for some relief from that. I told my therapist everything about it and that I had horrible tension in my neck and shoulders. What happened next was shocking. For the entirety of the 60minute session, she never once massaged or stretched any part of my body. For a whole hour, I laid there while she simply rested her hands on my feet or just touched my head. At one point she even said that she could feel the veins in my head pulsing and that I must be in a lot of pain- but yet did nothing to relieve any tension or pain! I spent the entire session just waiting for her to massage or stretch something, and it never happened. If anything it made my head feel worse because she was just lightly touching where it hurt. I feel like $75 was completely stolen from me, and I left with the same five day migraine I went there with. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. read more

What a relaxing way to close out a stressful year-with a massage at Rochester Holistic Arts! And what a lovely lobby renovation they've undergone to brighten things up for the employees and clients during these times. I look forward to my next time here, as always. I've had absolutely fantastic massages here. Kelli is amazing! The only reason I'm docking a star is because, as other posters mentioned, the rooms are too quiet. A white noise machine or fan along with some spa music is much needed and would make the experience far more relaxing when you're not hearing every mouth noise from your therapist and conversation in the waiting area. It's a simple and inexpensive way to help clients unwind. I hope management takes this tip to heart. read more

What a great experience. I had a reiki session with Kat and it was amazing. It not only allowed me to decompress and feel more balanced but I left feeling like a weight had been lifted. She is amazing at what she does and would not hesitate to recommend her. The whole staff was so welcoming and nice as well. I will most definitely return. read more

Although this is not a 5 star rating like the rest of them, it is important for me to write of my experience at RHA. Just before the New Year, I booked a 2 hr massage. I was really excited to try this establishment after many years of contemplation. Many things were not right from the get go and unlike anything I've ever experienced before in any form of bodywork. 1) I was taken to my room by my therapist and we briefly chatted about my situation. I undressed and waited, waited, waited for Kelli to come in. A good 15 minutes went by, enough to remove my head from the cradle several times and lay there wondering what was going on. When she finally entered the room she asked me if I was ready, lol. She also brought in several warm towels to put in the warmer. The sheets were terrible, very rough material, and there was only a throw blanket covering the top sheet. The cradle fabric was rough and I still have a dermatitis around my eye area that I've been treating since this experience. 2) I was in need of a deeper tissue release and asked for such. The pressure was very erratic and I let her know. She seemed less than experienced in deep tissue release. And objected when I said my one shoulder felt "stuck" and did nothing further for that. 3) Approx. 1/2 way thru the massage, Kelli informed me that she needed another towel. What??? We've used not one of the towels that were brought in at the beginning point of my massage. She left. I'm pretty sure keeping a bodily connection with your client is a cardinal rule...bye, bye, Felicia. 4) Again I waited at least 10 minutes in wonder. Finally I decided to use the restroom. So I put my coat on & went to the bathroom. When I exited the massage room, to my surprise, Kelli was eating a sandwich at the front desk area!!!! WHAT? We just looked at each other. This is when I should have exited the bldg..I was flabbergasted!!! 5) Kelli returned to the room, telling me how smart it was to throw my coat on instead of getting fully dressed to use the bathroom. Huh? The most bizarre body work experience I've ever had. 6) My less than 2 hr massage ended. I met Kelli at the front desk where she informed me that I could book regular massages with her and said I was receiving a 10% discount for a 1st time client. I'm at this point still reeling from what has transpired here. I put a $20 on the counter for a tip, she looked at it and did not thank me. 7) Terrible energy abounded with my experience RHA. I spoke to a co-owner that was less than interested in what I had to tell her. I told her I felt it was right to speak to the owners before writing an unsatisfactory review. She agreed. My conversation fell on deaf ears. I let her know the room I was in was dirty, she said that was her fault. Joan wanted to know what they could do to make things better? I said what do you usually do when you have a questionable, odd and unprofessional situation take place? Apparently in all of their years of business, I am the first to be dissatisfied at RHA. No offer to make up my time lost waiting for Kelli to finish eating and do whatever she was doing while I waited for her to begin and finish my massage appointment. My intent here is to help prospective clients be aware that not all is rosy within this establishment. read more

I discovered RHA on Yelp and decided to call for a therapeutic massage on short notice. My phone call was answered politely by the receptionist who found an opening with Kelli. When I arrived I was greeted politely and offered tea and trail mix as I filled out the forms. Kelli asked good questions regarding my reason for visiting; she listened well and was informative. Massage does wonders for my body. I get many benefits from it! I've learned that it is not passive, one must breathe into it, and consciously relax into if it becomes a bit uncomfortable. This is the place! Massages don't get any better than at Rochester Holistic Arts. They really are artists when it comes to an understanding of the body and how to relieve tight muscles and connective tissue which cause soreness. Stephanie and Michael were both wonderful. Stephanie massaged my son and was so caring and attentive to his needs. She even helped him get dressed and kept him company while I was still finishing up my massage. I would highly recommend both Michael and Stephanie.
