You could easily go somewhere else and pay a lot more but you wouldn't get a better massage. The entire place has an uplifting vibe and the therapists are seriously gifted. Massage therapy is their calling! Deb is fantastic. She is strong and purposeful: she finds tension in places I didn't know were the least bit tight. I feel delightfully disoriented after my sessions with Deb, like, just let me sit here in the lobby and get my brain back in order. Lol! Jerry is an amazing experience! On the table, with the Bemer for pain; hot towels; hot stones... and, If you've never tried shiatsu on the floor mat -- or even if you think you have -- Jerry's shiatsu is like massage infused with meditation, stretch, breath, mind/body connection... I can't describe it, you just have to try it. So now, your biggest problem is who to book your massage with... you can't go wrong! Just call and they'll help you figure it out! I will likely try this place one more time with another massage therapist and revise my review appropriately, as I did really like how I was treated before and after the massage and because I came to this place seeing that it has some great reviews. So, here we go: Pros: 1. Welcoming staff. 2.Good costumer service after the fact 3. Quaint feel Cons: *1. The massage therapist's service--no continuity/flow in the massage, she jumped from one body part to another haphazardly and quickly (within a minute she would jump from my shoulders, to my shins,back to my shoulders), pressure of massage was also not uniform and seemed haphazard as well; --I felt stressed during/end of the massage 2. The massage therapist's commentary--I heard about medication she was taking and then not taking, I heard about her dog, I heard about her sister, I heard about sunglasses she took off a rack at a store-- multiple topics that jumped around quickly as well. 3.Not sure what the scent was at the time of the massage, but this was not something that I preferred--I realize that this point is more subjective of an experience and that others may be fine with the scent--this point did NOT contribute to the star rating. -I got this massage in 2017. Rather than using the towel in the massage, she used her bare hands and just gently rubbed me. I asked to for more pressure, in which she said yes, but didn't really change pressure or method. Throughout the massage, she would use a spray bottle on her hands that wasn't labeled. She said the massage included oil, but quickly after spraying whatever in her hands, it would evaporate and cause friction from her just dry rubbing me. After reading my previous review, Tricia got in touch with me and asked me to give her a second…read morechance. After discussing at length what she thought went wrong, she made a plan to use different waxes and to have my hair length be right between 1/4"-1/2". When I went into the spa, I was apprehensive (and a bit annoyed by their parking situation - 1/3 of their parking lot was taken over by the construction being done next door), but Tricia warmly greeted me which put me at ease. She was hugely apologetic and made it a point to explain to me what she had changed about her procedures since reading my review. We went back and the underarm waxing was great. I never thought that I would refer to having hair pulled from a sensitive part of my body as "great", but Tricia was so gentle that I began to doze off while she worked. Afterwards, she carefully examined my skin to make the best after care plan. She noticed a small red patch (that I couldn't see even when I tried to look in the mirror for it) so put on a few soothing lotions. Afterwards, no redness, no skin tears, and even now two weeks later no ingrown hairs. The only reason that I couldn't give her 5* was because of her front desk staff. I had issues with misinformation from them the first time. When I called to try to understand what happened the first waxing, they were less than helpful. Then when I was coming in for the most recent waxing, I asked if they had any suggestions on where to park (due to 1/3 of their lot being taken over by construction) to have them tell me to look around and find a spot. While still on the phone with them a woman came to my car window, didn't introduce herself, and told me to park in the spots marked specifically for the pizza shop. It wasn't until I relayed this to the front desk staff that they informed me that it was the owner yelling at me. I would have no hesitation to go back to Tricia for any waxing services from here on out. ---- Today I had a bikini wax and underarm waxing done by Trish. I have received dozens of waxings before so felt like I knew what I was in for. When I called to schedule the appointment, I scheduled a Brazilian and underarm wax. I asked if there was anything I needed to know or do before my appointment. I was told "Do not shave or Nair or do anything to the areas to be waxed." I began asking if I should trim my hair to a specific length and was cut off and told "Do not cut it. She needs a good length of hair to let the wax adhere." Upon arriving I was notified that Trish doesn't do Brazilians and only does bikini waxing. Not what I wanted but I figured I would make the best of it. While waiting, I overheard the woman on the phone tell a client that the hair should be between 1/4" and 1/2" for waxing. Knowing my hair was longer than that, I addressed the matter first thing with Trish. She informed me that she wasn't allowed to cut/trim the hair down and proceeded to do a test patch on my underarm. She was pleased with how it came off and waxed my bikini line and underarms. While it was more painful than what I am accustomed to, I assumed it was because of the extra hair length. Once she finished she handed me a sample of a product to calm down inflammation. I assumed she did this for everyone. I paid then continued on with my day. When I arrived home 6 hours later, the skin was still painful so I checked it out in the mirror. I have bruising and marks that look like hickeys. If this was going to be the result of waxing hair longer than 1/2", I wish Trish would have informed me.
