While the items here are endearing and they have many fun patterns and colors, I think a little bit of Mud Pie in the wardrobe or the home goes a long way. Mud Pie is a chain and the store definitely has that corporate feel to it compared to the other locally owned shops in the Outer Banks Mall.

You can tell that this was built for the area and took into consideration that this will not always be busy, especially during offseason. There aren't many options when it comes to variety. Mostly all the stores offer some type of clothing, aiming for the beach. Splash in some eateries, a shoe store, and high end souvenir shop, then you basically just formulated this place. Ample parking here, and I dare to say that there isn't a rush to come here. A lot of parking goes unused here as there really isn't much to make you want to come here. You would think that there would be better variety, but here we are years down the road and things change.

She is all the way on one end, so don't miss this spot. Lot's of cute items and local art to purchase and she was so sweet and helpful. Go support her and pick up something amazing. The other shops had pretty great deals, but I wanted to spotlight that one. There are some food options there too, pizza and burgers so you can grab a drink or something to eat.

I asked if I could stay in the dressing room with my daughters so I could help them and make sure they were okay, but I was told they would need to come out and show me each item instead. This rule made a simple shopping trip take three times longer and was very inconvenient for a mom with special needs children. While there was a sign posted with the policy, I did not notice it beforehand. I understand businesses need rules, but this policy felt impractical and made the experience frustrating. Unfortunately, because of this rule, inflexibility and unfriendliness, I will not shop here again.

Like most thrift stores, it is hit or miss but if it's a miss it certainly isn't for a lack of care by the employees to make the store shoppable. The store has clothing for women, kids, and men. There are also housewares, Christmas decorations, books and furniture. The store has an Amadas St. address but is basically on the main thoroughfare of Manteo. The store has its own parking lot and accepts donations. Proceeds support Hotline's mission to provide services for those encountering and escaping from interpersonal/domestic violence.

The store offers men's and women's fashions as well as "Crew Cuts" clothing for children. Overall, the store is very attractive and any time I've been in its been well organized. There is a wide variety of items here from screen print tees to dresses for date night. The outlet is definitely less expensive than the regular, full price store but I didn't feel like I got any bargains here. For example, the shirt I purchased was $52. A similar shirt at the Banana Republic Outlet would probably cost me about $40. Plain gray little girls leggings were about $18 and similar leggings at Gymboree would be about $8. The staff here was very nice. I didn't need too much help but from my limited questions and some conversations I overhead they seemed very customer service oriented. Something I learned on my most recent visit is that you can actually shop the outlet online now. I guess that makes sense since many retailers are looking to capture a new market by offering products at a lower price point and online sales are a must.

The store is mainly packed full of trendy and typical beach souvenirs and clothing but there are some exceptions. I put the stacks of Salt Life, Fish Hippie and Simply Southern tshirts in the trendy/typical category. Some of the nicer items that caught my item were Yeti containers, Southern Tide menswear and Cobian flip flops. In the past I have been a big fan of Farmer's Daughters jewelry but that wasn't very shoppable this time around as it was hard to get to the cases. With the challenges that COVID-19 have created for small businesses I tried to give them a fair shake while vacationing in the Outer Banks for a few weeks but Farmer's Daughter left me disappointed. The store was just as cramped as ever with merchandise spilling over into the aisles. And the employees were less than welcoming. One employee pushed past me, literally, to get back to her restocking task at the jewelry counter. And the employee who rang me up only said four words - "twenty-seven seventy-four."
