Wide variety of quality baby items! They offer used and new clothing, toys, all baby needs & more!…read moreI love it because I prefer my baby's items to be new while I'm ok with some used items(example gently used clothing). The two ladies working were very pleasant and helpful with holding my items at the front since I was holding my son while shopping. I could spend hours looking through everything! I feel that the prices vary - they do have name brand items that are pricer (reasonably so) but also offer things for cheap (example - used bibs for 25 cents). They have my favorite swaddle blankets! They also offer rental items (strollers, baby bouncers, high chairs). Maternity clothes are also available. There was no restroom at the store - but they do have a key for a restroom for the plaza. One of my favorite baby stores I've been to!

They even offer rental baby supplies and maternity gowns. We spent a good amount of time there and still didn't make it through the full store. The employee working during our visit was enthusiastic and welcoming, but she did come across as a little pushy. I don't buy baby items often, however, they seemed to offer a decent variety at fair prices. I would return when back in the area and recommend this shop to others!

The store is mainly packed full of trendy and typical beach souvenirs and clothing but there are some exceptions. I put the stacks of Salt Life, Fish Hippie and Simply Southern tshirts in the trendy/typical category. Some of the nicer items that caught my item were Yeti containers, Southern Tide menswear and Cobian flip flops. In the past I have been a big fan of Farmer's Daughters jewelry but that wasn't very shoppable this time around as it was hard to get to the cases. With the challenges that COVID-19 have created for small businesses I tried to give them a fair shake while vacationing in the Outer Banks for a few weeks but Farmer's Daughter left me disappointed. The store was just as cramped as ever with merchandise spilling over into the aisles. And the employees were less than welcoming. One employee pushed past me, literally, to get back to her restocking task at the jewelry counter. And the employee who rang me up only said four words - "twenty-seven seventy-four."

The girls working there are constantly working hard to keep everything clean and nice looking. I even got a free shirt for spending a certain amount. You have to stop here!

OBX as a whole isn't big on chains. You don't see a lot of chain anything on the island or if you…read moredo it will usually be one of the store and then the next closest location will be either a considerable distance away or back on the mainland. There is one huge exception to that and it would be Wings. It boggles my mind to understand how this chain stays in business. In certain locations there are a ridiculous number of stores and it seems like they are there for no other reason then to cannibalize off of themselves. While I despise shopping in all its forms the kids wanted a few OBX trinkets to take home with them so we gave this location a shot. Why here? In our travels during the week we passed by probably 8 or 9 different Wings-Super Wings-Double Decker Wings-Wing Dings (excellent font to type in) from Corolla all the way down to Nags Head and this location easily was the most dead. It probably has a lot to do with its location. Unlike most Wings locations which are right on the road, this location is in the back of a small strip mall pushed a good distance off of the road. Sho'Nuff the entire time we were in the store we were the only ones there. While this location is not as "Super" as some of the others it more than fit the bill with its large array of Chinese plastic and bloated priced cheaply made clothing. The only good thing was that compared to the two Wings up in Corolla this one had a lot more items marked 50% off. That will make the sting of wasted money be a little bit less next year when the kids want to give the shirts away to Goodwill when even they realize how this is pretty much the temple of poor decision vacation impulse buying. If you have to come, this chain has tons of locations and in season they all keep insanely long hours until 11pm or Midnight daily. Also note that the local Sunny Day Guide plus a few other websites have some small coupons that will get you a dollar or two off of some things.

it's a great place to get your beach accessories and souvenirs for your friends and family.read more

The Pit has now become a long-time fixture in Kill Devil Hills. I remember when it opened. In the…read morebeginning it was just a club that would let kids under 21 so they had somewhere to go listen to bands, play games, and hang out. Then they expanded to the surf shop and built a separate building. Now they have Boardriders Grill. In the main building you'll find the "hang out" part. Downstairs on the ground floor is a stage and venue for bands and parties. On the main floor, there's a dining area and small bar. On the top floor there's some video games, pool, and chairs to chill in. Sunday is Euronight with electro/house music spinning and Thursday is Mug Night. At The Pit out back the surf shop keeps expanding so I can't even keep track of all that's offered. I will tell you that they keep up to date with all the rad stuff locals and surfers need to keep up with the island image and life. They offer board rentals, surf lessons, lots of cool stuff. One thing that's really cool is that they're home to "Skim City" which is a sick skimboarding brand. My brother used to be sponsored by them and my family was never short on encounteres with the Skim Crew! A boardsport lifestyle comes as naturally as going barefoot on the beach and The Pit acknowledges that. The Boardriders Grill has come a long way to have a following of its own. $1 tacos from 4 to 6pm and all day on Tuesdays always draw a crowd! I don't know how else to describe it but how they do -- a surf-inspired menu. My Mom loves their fish tacos and my friends and I can barely handle their burritos! Spice and gargantuan size with fresh fixin's. I love that you can eat inside or out on the front deck and the service is friendly and fast. You never know you'll run into at The Pit. Steve Pauls and Ben Sproul have done a pretty good job at keeping it up for locals and visitors alike though. Stop in and hang out...you'll have a good time.
