Great shop, great prices, and very friendly. Would definitely shop there again when in the area.

We decided to stay local this Record Store Day, an event each year where artists release exclusive,…read morecollector vinyl that can only be purchased in local record shops. For this event, the store was open with extended hours starting at 8am. We arrived early to have a good spot in line with other record connoisseurs. Upon opening, the staff came out to welcome everyone who had waited hours for opening and thanked each of us. When we got inside, my dad and I were able to browse through the RSD collections in nicely alphabetized bins. The event was nicely organized and patrons were filed in calmly and quickly. We were able to get everything we had hoped to purchase for RSD-- and more. It was truly such a great time, and my dad and I enjoyed making memories at this event together. While inside, we had the honor of talking to Charlie behind the counter. He is truly the face of Variety Records making us feel welcome, sharing his knowledge for not only Vinyl but the ins-and-outs of Record Store Day, and managing to still converse with each customer during what I would assume to be their busiest day of the year. He was fabulous and even remembered us the next time we came in the shop. They have a wide variety of new, used, and new-vintage vinyl records and cds. We left with seven albums combined and both found things we were excited to listen to. We will be back soon!

Very cool little antique/record/curio shop filled with very cool stuff. Clothing, typewriters,…read moresuper 8 cameras, art, kitsch, and generally awesome stuff that hipsters love. And I don't mean that negatively. Not pretentious or snooty, just a cool little store in a cool little town south of Nashville. This is the awesome kind if store that could never exist in LA or San Francisco or NY because it would be overrun by smarmy fashionistas in overpriced vintage gear. Now, I dropped in to look at records and was not disappointed. Prices are fair and the selection is ... different. Lots of the same common $1-$3 records you see in record store and thrift shops across the country, but then LOTS of rare stuff you just don't see anywhere. Original Patsy Cline on Decca? Yup. A LEGIT, non-counterfeit Introducing the Beatles on Vee Jay? Yup. That amazing first gospel record that Elvis did in the late 50s? Yup. This place has more Beatles, Dylan, Elvis, and Hank Williams Sr. than you and three of your buddies could carry. Seriously. I found a first press Sweetheart of the Rodeo in NM- condition for $16. Again, prices are fair and they have stuff I've never seen out in the wild before (see: Byrds purchase and Beatles LP). Some really serious records in there. TL;DR - This is a great little shop filled with great antiques and records, and has that organic, non-manufactured "authentic" feel that hipster-type folks are always searching for. This store is an absolute gem that deserves your patronage.

A cool record shop in a garage. I've found some of my best records in shops just like this, so cool…read morethat it exists. Picked up a couple of jazz records, a couple of rock records. All fairly priced. Looking over prices, most were fair; some were a tad over or under market value, but solid pricing for most records. Other items were cool to peruse; they had some comics and those were really oddly priced with one issue of the same midlist series in a bag and board for $2, another from the same series out of the bag with a price sticker taped right to the cover (ruining it) for $12. Tapes priced wildly over the place, but no we're in a cassette renaissance or something. Will definitely be back, a solid 3 with a chance of being a 4. No "new" records here, but a great thrifting spot!
