Love, love, LOVE this shop and the owner Charlie! Such great selection and great people, and even if they don't have something in store, they are more than likely able to order it online for you (probably only if it's still pressing). I've definitely spent more than I need to here, and I'm not mad because every purchase has been worth it! Charlie is super helpful and kind, and I always have a good experience in Variety. Over half of my collection is from this place. They have vinyl records, cassette tapes, CDs, soundtracks, record players, and much more. Definitely need to head here again and get myself a jazz record to put on while studying (and order Imaginal Disk by Magdalena Bay). 100% RECOMMENDED!!!

Fun record store on Public Square in Columbia. Definitely on the smaller side, so you're not likely to hang out here too long, but the prices are reasonable, and they had an okay selection of vinyl when I was there. Cute shop, but you don't need to go out of your way!

What a cool guy and a cool little shop! Fun easy vibe, great prices, good selection and an atmosphere you want to be a part of. Super excited to score this beauty! We will definitely be back.

Would love to have this sign...

One of the last real record stores in the country. Good prices, great selection, and the vibe is deep.

Very cool little antique/record/curio shop filled with very cool stuff. Clothing, typewriters,…read moresuper 8 cameras, art, kitsch, and generally awesome stuff that hipsters love. And I don't mean that negatively. Not pretentious or snooty, just a cool little store in a cool little town south of Nashville. This is the awesome kind if store that could never exist in LA or San Francisco or NY because it would be overrun by smarmy fashionistas in overpriced vintage gear. Now, I dropped in to look at records and was not disappointed. Prices are fair and the selection is ... different. Lots of the same common $1-$3 records you see in record store and thrift shops across the country, but then LOTS of rare stuff you just don't see anywhere. Original Patsy Cline on Decca? Yup. A LEGIT, non-counterfeit Introducing the Beatles on Vee Jay? Yup. That amazing first gospel record that Elvis did in the late 50s? Yup. This place has more Beatles, Dylan, Elvis, and Hank Williams Sr. than you and three of your buddies could carry. Seriously. I found a first press Sweetheart of the Rodeo in NM- condition for $16. Again, prices are fair and they have stuff I've never seen out in the wild before (see: Byrds purchase and Beatles LP). Some really serious records in there. TL;DR - This is a great little shop filled with great antiques and records, and has that organic, non-manufactured "authentic" feel that hipster-type folks are always searching for. This store is an absolute gem that deserves your patronage.

All fairly priced. Looking over prices, most were fair; some were a tad over or under market value, but solid pricing for most records. Other items were cool to peruse; they had some comics and those were really oddly priced with one issue of the same midlist series in a bag and board for $2, another from the same series out of the bag with a price sticker taped right to the cover (ruining it) for $12. Tapes priced wildly over the place, but no we're in a cassette renaissance or something. Will definitely be back, a solid 3 with a chance of being a 4. No "new" records here, but a great thrifting spot!

This is a record store / gift store / studio owned by Jack White of the White Stripes and others…read more They offer tours of the studio, but they don't let you take your phone or camera with you during the studio tour. So I don't have any photos of the studio and offices, which is a bummer because there are so many neat things to see. I definitely recommend doing the tour, though! Our tour guide was Ben Blackwell, who is an executive at Third Man, a musician, and oh, Jack White's cousin! He's a cool cat and told us lots of stories about the people who have recorded at Third Man, and the things that have gone down. If you have a chance to get Ben as your tour guide, you will be in for a treat. The tour itself was a little under an hour. The Third Man shop is where you CAN take photos, and it's a good thing because there are also lots of interesting things to see in the shop, like White Stripes paraphernalia, a record listening booth, a Wax-o-Matic machine where you can make your own red wax guitar figurine, an area to play guitars, almost every record you can imagine on the Third Man record label, Maggot Brain magazine (which is published by Third Man Records), clothing, posters and lots more. If you're a White Stripes, Raconteurs or Jack White fan, you definitely need to stop in. It's so neat to be in a studio where all kinds of musical magic happens! And even if you're not, you might become a fan just by visiting.

The staff and owners radiate friendliness, acceptance, and hospitality to all whom walk through the door. The shop is located on a side street in East Nashville, in what looks to be an old house. Therefore, parking is limited at times. I have come here 2-3 before, and they have a great selection of wide-stream music and local artists as well. The inside is filled with records and CD's filling shelves, bins, walls, and even the mantle of a fireplace. They also have a small stage and area to host events and live music inside. This year, We came here for Record Store Day 2024, and it was such a great event. We decided to come by around lunch time. They had vendors, food trucks, and live music set up around the shop. They were limiting the amount of people in the room with the RSD Titles; therefore, we waited in line for an hour to get into the store. That being said, this allowed for everyone to look through the bins leisurely. The staff and even the other customers were all so friendly! It was such a great experience, and we made so many memories this RSD! Support your local record store, and visit The Groove.
