The selection/inventory looked to be dwindling somewhat, but just about everything they had still looked good and healthy. Noticed they sold produce to the left of the building on the outside this time too. One star knocked off on this visit because, after much looking around and not seeing anything we decided to ask for help. We were told they supposedly didn't carry many fruit trees, "if any at all", by the older, tall blonde woman at the register on staff during the early afternoon hours. It didn't seem like a very definitive response. The second star is knocked off because she really did not seem interested in interacting or helping us after her 'informative' tree comment. She walked away thereafter, presumably get away from us and our pesky questions. Still a nice place, with nice stuff, but lacking on customer service on this visit.

We often stop into Milford Gardens for our planting needs, even though there are other greenhouses and nurseries that are closer to our house. This place just has such a wide selection! My husband will pick up plants and small trees for certain jobs in Spring and Summer, and I like to grab some random colored sedum or hostas to fill my gardens throughout the season. Everything we've purchased from here has thrived and always ends up looking beautiful! The helpful staff is always there to greet you, as they can usually be found watering trees and plants while tinkering around the property. In addition to the greenery, they have an extensive collection of statuary, fountains, gazing balls, wind chimes, and memorial stones inside the shop. Need a giant Buddha? They've got one. Need a stone for your pet's grave? They've got a bunch. Need a bird feeder? There are plenty to choose from! Big or small, for all your planting and gardening needs, you're sure to find it at Milford Gardens!

That part didn't go as well as it should have, the weather turned up the heat, and for as much as I watered: still the plants were charred by the string of super sunny, hot days. Left with no choice other than to make another purchase-this time I was smart enough to ask Auburn Oaks to add delivery and install of the plants to my bill. WHAT a FABULOUS choice!! Coming here's a pleasure because their not a huge facility like Bordine's or Lowe's. Parking's tight but doable you just have to be careful when backing out since it's literally on Auburn Road, which is super busy and the speed limit's 50 MPH. They have a great selection of items to choose from, and prices are competitive and fair. What keeps me coming back is the staff. Their super friendly and are extremely knowledgeable. They also have regular sales and keep up with seasonal stuff like pumpkins, Christmas décor and other stuff as well. They also stand behind their products so if you buy a tree or plant, I think they will credit you if it does die. Don't quote me on that, but these guys really do stand behind what their selling. Overall a fabulous little nursery in a world of big box stores, we love coming here for just about anything!

There are many, MANY other nurseries in the area with friendly knowledgeable staff and better pricing. I cannot stress enough. Avoid this place at all costs!!! I wanted a shrub for a specific area. Went to them with my very specific needs... shade, soil condition etc. They sold me something, and when I got home, I couldn't put it in right away, because it rained every day for the next several days. Then I did some homework before planting it, to make sure I was doing everything as best I could. I found out that it was actually NOT a shade plant, but required FULL SUN. So I loaded it back in the van and went back up there. They said that they don't take returns. I complained to the owner. I told him who had helped me, and I told him that he had sold me something for full sun, when I told him it was practically full shade. I had a whole conversation with the kid about how hard it is to find something for this particular site with all the shade. I told him that the person helping me had been very nice, but that he maybe needed a bit more training, because he sold me the wrong plant. Even though I had stressed how nice and personable the person was who helped me... He got offended, because apparently it was his son who sold it to me. He grabbed the plant out of my truck, then he started screaming, literally screaming at me, because he said I had neglected the plant and not watered it. I told him it was sitting out in a nice, cool, shady spot, and it had rained every single day since I had purchased it, and that I had soaked it thoroughly on the one day that it had only rained lightly. It had only been a week. So he yanks it out of my truck, and he THROWS it while he's YELLING and SCREAMING the whole time. I told him that he needed some anger management or some counseling, and he started yelling at me again and calling me names and telling me that I was the one who needed help! I'm not kidding when I say that I was a little scared for the next several weeks because this guy had my name and credit card info and was going to come to my house and do something to me or my property. I honestly had my husband set up a webcam and motion sensor lights. I can't believe how bad this guy lost it!

It was "bad enough" that it had reached the tear it out and start over. The Images quote was reasonable for tearing out an area 35x10 on one side of the house for starters. This east side was a total removal of of several "layers" of garden attempts and included some large bushes that were close to becoming trees. In a nutshell.......great price for the work, the work was better than I hoped for, and they were very helpful in followup suggestions and instructions on how to care for areas turned over to lawn.
