Their response: "As we previously discussed, we would be able to very quickly and easily send out your orders if you were able to furnish tender in the typical manner; i.e. credit card or e-check. However, your PO system and our shipping season/Mother's Day/home show and symposium season are not entirely compatible, and we will need a bit more lead time to complete your orders." Well, if you take PO's then, you shouldn't come up with excuses like this. Also, as I have mentioned, it was 17 days AFTER Mother's Day. MD must have a really lingering effect, which utterly exhaust every one of the people working for a business. "If you would like to discuss this further, we welcome your call- otherwise, we look forward to your next order!" Nah. That would be a waste of my valuable time. Both discussing and purchasing from. Besides, some of the orchids I received are not well grown, like Slc. jewel Box. I mentioned that these may be virused, and of course, I didn't hear back anything. I wonder why? read more

If you want some of the finest Cattleyas on the planet, you need to shop at Odom's. He has an amazing selection, many of which are his own hybrids. The plants he sends are big for the price, and are often in bud even when not advertised as such. I love Odom's. They're also very friendly and cusomer service oriented. On a couple occasions, they have helped me find a plant I wanted, but was not able to find anywhere. Odom's found them for me. Top notch customer service. Odom's is the best there is. I should have written this review over a year ago. I bought a cattleya probably a a year ago at the Redlands Orchid Show held at the property of R.F. Orchids in the Redlands. I am a novice and have about 30 plants, phalaenopsis, cattleya, dendrobium, etc....... the usual suspects. I've had some healthy success and have had some fatalities along the way. But never had I seen this happen. The plant I bought from Odoms went into free-fall the minute I brought it into my house. The flower fell within two days (understandable); but the leaves, pseudobulbs, root system were all brown and dead in little over a month. I would have taken it as a fluke had THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED to a friend of mine that went with me to the show!!!!! read more

After moving from Fort Pierce to Tennessee 20 years ago, and having to give up my orchids, we recently had a sun room added to our home, and have had success with other kinds of plants. So I wanted to try orchids again. We ordered two Cattleyas from Odoms and recently received them in fantastic condition, way more than expected. I should have known since I dealt with them from the early 70s to the mid 90s and always received great plants, and tons of help and guidance. The shipping policy apparently stated somewhere on the site is to ship on Monday and Tuesday. My card was charged before my order was shipped. A response including phrases like "our policy clearly states. Avoid them. Lot of much better orchid suppliers in Florida. read more

Very disappointing visit. With extremely few exceptions, the orchids I wanted to buy were not for sale, were put aside for shows or were being held for others. I did not find the prices to be especially inviting. Hausermann Orchids in Chicago has mail order - they have a huge selection, prices are good, and the orders are shipped promptly, securely packed and arrive in perfect condition. read more

Have purchased several orchids from Odoms. However, the most expensive one is in serous trouble. First of all, it was suppose to be blooming size, it was near blooming with lots of dead roots, so now am trying to save it. This is the second orchid purchased in a crisis from Odom through the mail. Think would be better to go to the nursery and pick them out. Inspecting for active growing roots. Hope can save the orchid, it was expensive, at least to me. read more

I have been buying orchids from Odom's at orchid shows since my kids were babies. I now have grandchildren. Their cattleyas are superb. I have NEVER gotten an orchid that wasn't in tip top shape. NEVER got any with bugs or viruses. If I could post pictures I would! I write a 100,000 plus orchid page and have been growing orchids for over 40 years. Just be sure and call ahead on the day you plan to go and do NOT go if no one answers the phone. I recently made a trip up the state of Florida and had looked forward to stopping there on the way up. I had e-mailed that morning and mentioned that I was coming and listed a couple of orchid species that I would like to pick up when I stopped. We had planned to pick up a couple of orchids to take to a funeral which we would be attending up the state in Titusville. When I arrived with my 88 year old mother on a Saturday morning, a man came out and stated they were closed and that they had sprayed earlier. Never received acknowledgement of my e-mail nor any concern at the inconvenience. Also, if they are going to spray and be closed on a normal day of sales, why not state this on the website- it would have avoided quite a bit of problems with customers arriving. I live in New Jersey and just received a shipment of Odom's September Seedling Special (five cattleyas, one of which was in spike), which was still available in November. Odom's follows the weather to determine when it is safe to ship to zones outside of Florida so there was a slight delay in shipment. Rob communicated about the delay and also emailed when he shipped the orchids, which were very well packed and arrived as scheduled. I highly recommend Odom's Orchids. read more
