Located along the beautiful Duck River--one of the most biodiverse rivers in the world--this park offers the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and family fun without feeling overcrowded. The campground is top-notch: spacious, well-maintained RV sites with concrete pads, reliable Wi-Fi, clean and modern bathhouses, and plenty of peaceful wooded tent and primitive options (including some great backcountry sites for those seeking more solitude). We loved the thoughtful amenities like the camp store, playgrounds, splash pad, and even a nature play area that kept the kids entertained for hours. Activities here are incredibly diverse. We hiked several of the easy-to-moderate trails, including the scenic ones along the Duck River with observation decks overlooking wetlands teeming with wildlife. The 18-hole disc golf course is one of the best we've played in Tennessee--free and well-designed. I would appreciate some wood signs discerning the junctions from one another. There are several social trails that will mislead you and could easily be fixed with a social trail sign or caution tape. I color coded the map attached to this review to show my route. I parked at the trailhead for the fitness trail. I walked the pink line to the museum and walked the yellow line back. Once I took a break, I did the green line. Due to poor planning I didn't realize the bike trail wasn't a loop and so I didn't intend to do two there and back hikes I'm not sure why it's not a loop as it could likely be connected from where it ends at the amphitheater to the 0.40 mile mark on the part of the bike trail headed straight to the museum... The visitor center/museum can be walked to from the bike trail. It's got information and artifacts from David Crockett's life and stuff. They also have several birds of prey outside that you can view anytime. The park rangers are very friendly and helpful when kids want to learn about the birds.

We always enter from the "access trail" side. It is a smaller parking lot but we like coming in from this side. Depending on what time you get there, you may have a slight wait time to park but it is usually pretty quick and efficient. We usually arrive before 8:30am and have had no problem finding a spot. There are I believe at least 2 handicap spots at this entrance. They also have bathrooms available that are always clean and kept up. At the main entrance, entering from (otter creek). There is a welcome center with information and a small gift shop. Before bringing a stroller we would always go on the trail through the park woods but now with our baby and taking a stroller we take the paved path which was just redone and is SO nice!!! Strollers and bikes are not permitted on the dirt path so keep that in mind. There is so much beauty to look at while enjoying a nice peaceful walk. Eagles, owls, deer, frogs, turtles, birds, and more creatures to look at all while visiting Radnor. It is a staple as a local to get outdoors and into fresh air. Great place to take kids or any family that is visiting or even a great place to go on a nice solo long walk.

Visited with my husband and 3 kids (ages 4, 3, and 20 months) on a holiday weekend around 9 a.m…read more There are two entrances -- we used the one off Franklin Rd. This parking lot is smaller, but we were surprised to find a spot easily. When we left around 10:45, there was a line of about 6 cars waiting, though cars seemed to move through fairly quickly. There is a nice bathroom at the top of the parking lot. From this entrance, you can also access the trail along the lake, though strollers and dogs are not allowed on that trail. We chose the lower paved trail instead (part of the mulch trail loop). It's wide -- almost road-sized -- and newly paved the entire way. It took about 15 minutes to reach the lake, and there's plenty more paved trail beyond that. We saw frogs, ducks, turtles, deer, an owl, and even a bald eagle. My kids stayed engaged the whole time. The trail was flat and easy for stroller pushing, and my older kids rode scooters without any issues. There were lots of families, dogs, and walkers out, but it never felt overcrowded. Overall, this is a great near-the-city option for getting young kids into nature without dealing with steep terrain. The other entrance off Granny White has the visitor center and a bit more parking.

The plaza it sits directly behind houses McAlisters, Moe's, Burger Up, PF Changs and more. The main entrance is located on Aspen Grove even though the address shows Cool Springs Boulevard. When you pull in, you pull into a small parking lot, a brick building that houses the restrooms to the left, start of the trails to the right and then a nice brick pavilion that houses several picnic and patio tables, a fireplace/grill and a little free library station. Just beyond the pavilion is a grassy area and playground. The park has one main trail with four off shoots creating 5 paved trails each ranging from .10/mile to .60 mile. If you make a few laps you can make a nice distance out of it. Most of the trails end and start in the park area, however one ends/starts near Core Life eatery. All the paths are paved and 90% of the trails are covered in foliage. The trails also feature a few cool bridges that cross the creek, and there are a few grill/picnic areas along the trails as well. I have driven by this park for years now, and honestly am surprised at the space and trails. I am impressed with the simple layout, covered trails, cute creek and the calm that it brings, even in the middle of retail and office suites!

We stopped in Franklin and walked around Main St, drove through Leiper's Fork, visited the gravesite of Meriwether Lewis of Lewis and Clark and saw 2 waterfalls (Jackson Falls and Fall Hallow). We also stopped to walk a short trail to old limestone mines. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!
