My advice is to go somewhere else because you deserve to be treated better. Danielle deliberately hangs up on us repeatedly, when we called. Her attitude needs serious help and I have referred some great clients to this company and a large remodeler, but their referrals end here today. My contractor was also very frustrated with Danielle and her scheduling authorities today and will look somewhere else for their next project.

I emailed them and got no response. When I called, I reached someone who repeatedly said, "I only work in the showroom," but was able to check the order and told me, "It hasn't been processed yet" (read: nobody even looked at it for ten days). When I asked to be connected to the right department, I was told that person was "out of town." But the showroom person was able to cancel the order. Thankfully, this was a small purchase and not a critical part of my home remodeling project--but that's beside the point. Tip for Lighting Specialists in Utah: If you accept people's orders and money online, be prepared to process or respond to those orders within a couple of days--not 10 or more. It's not just bad service--it's irresponsible.

I hope I just had a rare situation this time My bedroom celing fan had an integral part go bad. I had no light, no fan, nothing. I identified the problem part and we sought a replacement at Lighting Specialists. They took our money and said the part would be in around two weeks. A little over two weeks later we call asking about the status of our replacement part. Turns out they just charged us and never placed the order. No part was on its way for over two weeks. They said they were sorry and would order the part for real this time. Said it would be a couple weeks. This is when I got a bit angry and explained I had no light in my bedroom and why, since this was your mistake you couldn't overnight the part. Another week and a half later the part came in. Went to go pick it up and they wanted to charge us again, saying we didn't pay the first time. Another mistake on thier part. Finally a month later we are up and going again. I may have to look elsewhere for my next purchase.

We are in the process of a pretty big remodel and was happy to walk through the doors. The receptionist was pleasant, greeted us, and asked how she could help. We told her we were looking for design ideas for tiling our new fireplace. She sent Chanelle to meet us in the tile area. We really enjoyed our time with Utah Design Center. Chanelle showed us some awesome tile and advised we visit DalTile and Esmer for samples. While at the Utah Design Center, we also got excited about lighting because of the various displays about the store. We asked Chanelle about various lighting options. We also asked Chanelle if the Utah Design Center offers general design consultancy. She said yes, they offer by-the-hour consultancy services - very cool! When we got home, we talked about the myriad of options and decided we really do want professional assistance to help establish a cohesive vision across textures, colors, shapes, designs, etc. So, I called the Utah Design Center, spoke with the receptionist, and asked for Chanelle. I left a voice message. A couple days later, I hadn't heard anything, so called again. I spoke with the receptionist, asked for Chanelle, and left a voice message. We never received a return phone call. I don't mind calling a second time when my first call is not returned, but there will not be a third. I have to say, there is no excuse to not return phone calls, let alone two. I mean, isn't this where it all starts? My wife and I were really excited after our visit and, frankly, we were surprised we did not hear back. Thank goodness there are a lot of really good designers in the area. I ordered a custom ratchet strap cover in July of 2025. In September some of the stitching on the…read moreback was coming undone, there was a tear where it goes around the boat tower, the Sugarhouse patch was sewn on upside down. And some of the gray coating on the cover was coming off where we pull on it, to put it on. Then we took it to Lake Powell, both plastic clips on the side broke 30 min into the drive home, the flapping dented both sides of my boat. But it also made holes in the cover and ruined the fabric and took the coating off. (30 min of flapping while driving) Also the cover was supposed to be waterproof, I went out to check it in the rain and found my boat soaked with standing water in all compartments and on the seats. I contacted Sugarhouse Industries. They are working on the problem. They started to claim I should have taken the cover off when the clips broke to prevent damage to the cover. Flapping in the wind shouldn't damage a travel cover. Ill update when the solution is solved. At almost $3,000 for a cover none of this should be happening on day 67 of owning it.
