They both made sure the requirements were clear, I was able to pick out the material over the phone with pictures and the appointment to measure the vanity with waterfall was easy and quick. The person who came to measure had a great suggestion to make a tweak to the vanity to make the countertop look better. Having worked with Aspen Countertops /InteriorWorx Countertops, for several years now, as a cabinet company, I will tell you this. Aspen does good work, BUT their PROJECT MANAGER, Danielle, is very difficult to work with. Danielle is a terrible asset to this company and she is only happy when she is controlling you, in her quest for power. Unfortunately, if you do business here, you have to work with her. My advice is to go somewhere else because you deserve to be treated better. Danielle deliberately hangs up on us repeatedly, when we called. Her attitude needs serious help and I have referred some great clients to this company and a large remodeler, but their referrals end here today. My contractor was also very frustrated with Danielle and her scheduling authorities today and will look somewhere else for their next project. read more

I went to aspen for new vanity counters on recommendation from my finish carpenter. I chose a piece of quartz from their scrap yard, that I was psyched about finding; 1) it was the color/look I wanted and 2) the scrap was big enough to cut two vanity tops from so my bathrooms had some cohesion. The salesman worked very hard at getting me on the schedule (which was very tight) knowing I had family coming to visit soon. The shopping and scheduling experience was great. But here is where Aspen gets 10 gold stars in my book... The template rep came to my house and pointed out to me that the sinks to my double vanities were not centered over the sink base cabinets. He asked if I wanted the new sinks centered. My husband wasn't home to help me with the decision - I feared if the sinks were centered that they'd be too close to the walls, and also feared needing to move plumbing (something my husband would not approve of)...so I told him to mimic the existing template. Fast forward 1 week - The hubs is home for the install and I am not. I walk in the door, and the hubs is having a small nutty over the sinks not being centered over the base cabinets (mind you he had never noticed before)... however, in order to install the new counter with the new under mount sinks (old sinks were over mount), the installers wanted to chop up the insides of the cabinets to accommodate the new sinks. THAT stipulation was was not discussed with the template rep when I signed off on the template, nor would it have been something I would have agreed to had I known. So we spent a little bit of time on the phone with a manager down at Aspen who advised his installers to reinstall our old counter - and had a new counter of the same quartz templated, ordered, delivered and installed within another week at no extra charge to us. The installers were patient and pleasant throughout the ordeal and the manager was eager to rectify the problem, supportive and understanding. And through it all, even with all our little speed bumps, they managed to get our counters installed before our relatives came to visit. Aspen has been a fantastic company to work with. and I would strongly recommend going directly through them for all your countertop needs! read more

I found this company online and had laminate counters installed in my kitchen. Pros: The sales rep was helpful and gave me insight into picking a color that would appeal to many people because I am selling my home. Aspen's price was less than what I was quoted at Home Depot, even with a sale going on at Home Depot. The show room at Aspen was also decent and they had a lot to choose from. The entire process took about 3 weeks from the day I contacted them to install. The counters look great and were installed well. On install day, the counters were installed very fast. Cons: The installer who came to premeasure was VERY late and caused me issues in my schedule due to his tardiness. I'm not sure how often this type of issue happens with contractors, but I think it happens frequently so I'm not sure this is much of a ding against them. However, I did notice a very large dent in my wall where I think the counters hit when being installed. I'm not sure it was them, but I think it is probable. It's a long narrow dent, consistent with a counter edge. About a week before install, I repaired that wall for dings and scuffs with Spackle and paint and would not have missed a dent like that. I didn't report it to them because I noticed later that day after I had signed off on their work. Overall, I think this is a decent company with great prices. Expect any appointment with them to take up your entire day and really inspect your space before and after install. read more

We have used Aspen Countertops twice for Ikea kitchens. We have had granite tops installed in both remodeled kitchens. We have found Aspen Countertops to be a good company to work with. They are easy to get a hold of, they do high quality work, and they correct any problems quickly and free of charge. In the first Ikea kitchen remodel, we had a slab of granite around our cooktop crack at the edge. We called Aspen and they came back that same week, told us why it had cracked (not enough support underneath the countertop), let us beef up the support, and fixed the crack so it was only visible if you knew where it had been. The second Ikea kitchen remodel we didn't have any cracks, barely visible seams and we had a fairly large island installed. We have been happy with them both times we used them and wouldn't hesitate to use them again for a kitchen. We have built a house and used a different installer, NOT Aspen Countertops, for the granite countertops. The seams through this other installer were far more visible and not entirely level. When I called and complained to this other installer, they said that granite tops aren't always entirely level and refused to correct the problem. Aspen Countertops was easy to work with, did a great job, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

We were so excited to get new bathroom cabinets and had been saving up for them for a long time, finally we had enough and decided to go through Costco because they were nice quality cabinets for a low price and for the % cash back. Once we contacted Costco they had aspen countertops contact us and at first they were great with measurements and things being done in a timely manner. Then we ordered and payed for our cabinets, that's when things got put on hold. We ordered them at the end of January and it is the beginning of April and we still haven't got them all the way installed. Some of the cabinets were measured wrong so they had to re-order another and to make matters worse they put the other cabinets that couldn't be installed yet including their long toe kicks and edging in my living room taking up much needed space in my 1100 sq ft home. It has been sitting there for 4 weeks now and I have not heard a single thing about my cabinets since. I wouldn't recommend this place for cabinets unless you had 3+ months to wait on them. Wish we would have paid the few extra bucks for faster cabinetry. On a lighter note the cabinets that are in look good, a few drawer fronts were damaged and they said they would replace them no problem. read more

Installation day was a breeze so fast and the installers attended to any complaints or questions I had. My plumber didn't even properly uninstall the sink and they did it for me just to help out. I bought some countertops through IKEA, and when their installers came out I didn't have the vessel sink for the vanity. Their installers told me that they would come back to drill the holes for the sink at no charge. When I called to schedule the installers to come back, the Aspen PM pointed to a clause in the contract with IKEA that stated any additional trips because of the customer would be a $250 charge. I was at fault for not having the sink when the installers were there, but he should have stood behind what one of his employees told me. It would have taken his crew 15 mins to drill two holes. read more

I paid for this countertop install at IKEA (you get a discount that way). I was told by their own employees that if I would have gone straight to them they would of installed much faster. This is because they have to receive the proof of payment and order details from IKEA, which becomes a blame game because they blame IKEA for not sending the paperwork. I waited for a week for ASPEN to call me. Paperwork says they will call within 3 business days but they never did so I called them. They said they had no record of me in their system. They told me to call IKEA, I tried calling IKEA several times but IKEA kitchen department never answers their phone (got put on hold for 30 minutes and then the call would get dropped) so that was futile. I called ASPEN and asked them to communicate with IKEA for me but they refused. I had to drive 45 min to IKEA, wait in line at the kitchen department for another 20 min to explain to them what happened. They said they would resend the paperwork to ASPEN. I asked them to tell ASPEN to call me the following Monday when they got the paperwork. APSEN called Monday morning saying they didn't have paperwork yet. I called back Monday at business close and they said they had it and would call me on Tuesday. They never called on Tuesday. On Wednesday they called to schedule a template measurement. They said they couldn't do it that week but had to schedule for the following week. The template guy came the following week and did his work and said that he didn't need to take my sink with him because they had all the IKEA sinks in their inventory. I switched to getting an under mount sink because the guy doing the template said they wouldn't put the holes through the IKEA sink unless I got an under mount. So I told him I wanted to do an under mount and he filled out the change order which meant I had to go back to IKEA to pay for it. Drove the 45 min to IKEA again, waited in line for some 20 minutes at the kitchen department and explained to them it was now 4 weeks into this process and still don't have a kitchen or countertop at home. IKEA was sympathetic and since ASPEN put the blame on them for the paperwork not getting sent in the beginning they paid for the under mount cost (between $200~$300). The following Monday I get a call from ASPEN saying they actually don't have the IKEA sink in their inventory and they need me to drive to their office to drop it off. I live a 60 min drive from their office and they are only available during regular business hours, which are the same hours I work. So I told K-- that I think one of your people should come get it because it is your fault that B----- didn't pick it up during his template measurement. She said it could be a long time before someone from their company goes to Provo to pick it up so I would have to wait even longer if I didn't bring it in. I waited a week for them to come pick up the sink and no one ever called to schedule a time. I later asked the installers about this and they said they come to Provo 2-3 times a week so K-- was just giving me attitude on the phone. The following Monday I woke up early, drove the 60 min to SLC in rush hour traffic and dropped the sink off at their office and got to work an hour late. It was 2 weeks from this point that they scheduled the actual installation of the countertop. Two weeks later they show up and installed the countertop but informed me that they broke one of the pieces and would have to come back in a few days to finish it. The install process was very dusty and stinky. I put plastic around all the door openings to the kitchen and vented air to outside. The under mount sink required cutting out parts of the cabinet in order to make it fit. This made the false drawers in front of the sink sag so that they rub against the cabinet doors. The installers said they didn't have the correct drill bit to drill through the IKEA sink metal. I told them your template guy promised to do that which is why I chose the under mount sink. I called the office and they called someone else who talked to the installers. They used their countertop drill to drill through the metal that was another stinky mess with lots of sparks. That tore off IKEA's mounting device so that the back of the sink couldn't be mounted to the cabinet the way it describes in the documentation. Furthermore they left metal there which prevented me from installing the faucet so I had to go buy a small saw and metal blade to clean it up. They came back the following Friday to install the last piece. It didn't match exactly what they promised during the template but was 90% close enough and I was too tired of dealing with them. +2 stars for actually installing the countertops eventually and always answering the phone (unlike IKEA) -3 star because of long wait, making me drive to office to drop off sink, installation issues read more

Pricing is a "joke" to say the least! I found Aspen Counter top online and decided to set up an appointment for a bid this morning. Sales man Jason, was prompt for our appointment also very professional. Showed him the granite I had picked out, his computer was down so he told me he would email me the bid. Not even two hours later I received an email, pretty excited about how punctual he was until I saw the quote. Not only was this the highest bid I've received after already having four other bids. Jason's bid for just labor alone was $5000.00 making the job's total cost with Materials $5,981.92 being that the granite counter tops I selected was considered Group 1 3cm that was quoted by another company for $800-$900 for 2 slabs!!! After taking with Jason at Aspen he told me those counter tops are even cheaper than Group 1 so that would increase his cost for labor even higher then $5000 Let's just say that I decided not to go with Aspen! I purchased my kitchen counter tops from aspen about 2 years ago and LOVE them. The product (Zodiac counter top) is beautiful, we also did a large windowsill and the area surrounding the front of our fireplace. The sales staff and installers were prompt, professional and very helpful. We recently did a small counter top and windowsill in our laundry room. The area required a "remnant" which took quite a while to come in. My initial impression was that the job was not lucrative enough for the sales staff to initiate. We were told that they would let us know when the product was available. It took quite a while, long enough that I called in a couple of times for the status of the job, this was a bit aggravating, but I do understand the circumstance. It would have been nice to have had a "status update" at least weekly : )... I am really not that difficult, but I would have appreciated that. Needless to say the installers were awesome! professional, prompt and friendly. The counter top is beautiful! I love it! read more

I went through Costco to attempt to use these guys and quite honestly had difficulty connecting. I admit I was partially at fault for the difficulty connecting, but I had initially called a week or so before I left for summer vacation. When they finally *did* start calling, we had already left. When I checked messages when we got home, they had called roughly every 48 hours, which I found peculiar and a little overly aggressive to begin with. I had some trouble connecting with the salesman, started over with Costco. After 2 weeks of no response, I called Aspen and was told because they had previously called 11 times, they didn't follow up on my second attempt to get them to come out and do their measurements. When I did get them to reschedule, there was a problem, and I was told very rudely that I should take my business elsewhere. After reading the "preferred" comments here on Yelp, I think I've been saved a lot of trouble. As a business owner, if I ever heard one of my employees speak this way to a customer (I'm quoting what he said, but his tone of voice sounded a lot more like he was telling me what I could go do with myself), I would have fired them on the spot. Reading these other difficulties where the victims-er-customers had difficulties once the installation started, I think dumb luck has saved me from a grave error. I'm amazed that IKEA and Costco employ this company or that two competitors would use the same company where people seem to be finding the same problems consistently. Lowe's, here I come! (And, y'know, it's not like this would have been an enormous sale; just had $30,000 to spend that I'm going to be *really* happy to give to another contractor---and yes, that's sarcastic. What can I say. I got what I paid for. So begins my really bad experience with aspen cabinet and countertop. On a random day in Costco. I was approached by an aspen sales person. At that time, I was going through Chris&dicks in west valley. So I schedule a consultation. So the guy comes on time. Really nice guy at the time. After he does his measurements. We go through some of his sample. Found what my wife and I liked. Got a quote, which was cheaper then Chris&dicks. So my wife and I decided to go with aspen. Now begins our 3 months of nightmare. When we were told by the salesman. It will take a month to complete cabinet install, countertop install, and backsplash install. We write them the full amount. A few weeks have past. Mind you the month of May just begun. And haven't heard a peep from them. So I decided to call them and see what's up. Comes to find out. They haven't even started building my cabinets. I asked them why? They said they've been waiting on me for the microwave measurement. I told them, I didn't know I needed to give you guys any measurements. The salesperson already measured my microwave. And said he will add an additional few inches side to side and few inches in height. I asked them, why didn't you just start building the other cabinets. I just got a B.S. answer. So that conversation is over. Onto the next part. It is now close to July. Here comes the cabinets. 2 of the larger cabinets are wrong, lazy Susan doesn't even fit correctly. So now more delays. A few days have past. The correct cabinets have arrived. So they start, the installer just came and went. As if they didn't just schedule a dedicated time for install. Well since he came and went. It took 3 days to install. Installer knew the lazy Susan measurements were incorrect. But did nothing to fix it. And on top of that. After install of the cabinets. I was going through each one. And noticed there were some issues. The first issue, one of the cabinet door is rubbing against the side of the cabinet next to it. The next issue, rather then fixing the rotating lazy Susan. For some odd reason. He puts 2 pieces of 2 by 4 under the lower rotating lazy Susan. The next issue a bunch of the handles are not even straight. Some of the cabinet doors isn't straight. I tell them about it. Nobody comes out to fix the problems. A week later the countertops arrive. My father is at my house watching over them. And sees that they hit the fridge with the countertop. But they said its always been there. My father in law calls me. I gave aspen a call. They told me that the installer said it was already there. I said bullsh*t, if it was there. I would have sears take it back. But since sears inspected all the appliances for damage. There was none when they left. But they did nothing to compensate. After countertop is installed July is almost over. And I finally have a functional kitchen. Now here comes the installer for the backsplash. He couldn't even get that right. So many issues. I'm really embarrassed when I have guest over. And they just pick out all of the issues. At the end of all this bullsh*t. From spending $9000, I got what I payed for. A very poor experience, very poor customer service. I should have spent the extra $3000 at Chris&dicks. Cause at the end of all this. That's close to how much money I spent on take out food and fast food for 3 months. I would never recommend aspen countertop. If I could give them zero stars I would. But couldn't, so they get an un deserving 1 star. read more
