From what I understand it is the oldest municipal course in the city. Staff: Extremely engaging and courteous. Very friendly and are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. A+ customer service. Clubhouse: Quaint little club house. Limited pro shop. Much like you would find at any other small course (golf ball sleeves, tees etc.). An old stone building with plenty of character. Price: Outstanding. 9 holes with a cart for $15.00, with the option to play twice (we will call it the back 9) at a slightly discounted total cost. Condition: Not bad for a municipal course. The cart was in good working order, tee boxes were all for the most part fairly level, fairways were not in the best shape but this could very well be attributed to the changing of the seasons, and it very well may improve throughout the spring. Very nice practice green next to the first tee. They were kind enough to let me practice some flop shots and not chase me off as other courses have in the past. Difficulty: Very good course for all skill levels. Not overly difficult, very little water, small greens that add to the challenge. Not extremely long, with a reachable par 5 and for some, a drive able par 4. Overall: Go out and try it! Good inexpensive course to work on your game and enjoy the great outdoors! WARNING: this course requires situational awareness. If you here "fore" they really mean it. Golf balls sailed past my cart and or tee box a few times throughout the round. Keep your head down or consider playing with a hard hat!

When most people think of amusement parks and coasters in the Kentucky area, they either think of…read moreKentucky Kingdom or the out of state parks Holiday World, Kings Island, or Dollywood. But while Beech Bend isn't as nearly as well known or have as high profile coasters as those parks, it shouldn't be ignored. This is because Beech Bend has an excellent thrilling coaster in Kentucky Rumbler, which is a relatively smooth wooden coaster that is filled with a mix of forces and airtime that will make you want to go on it again and again. Additionally, Beech Bend has some very interesting flat rides you generally only see at fairs, but here you ride them over and over again instead of having to pay per ride. Plus, admission is quite affordable, especially if you buy it in advance, and parking is free, so Beech Bend will not set you back a lot. With that in mind, Beech Bend, while it lacks the high profile coasters of the parks that surround it, is a nice, charming, and affordable small park that should not be missed if you are in the area.

Prices to get in the amusement/water park are $44.99 plus tax for anyone over 48" but there are a few offers that can get you in cheaper. I strongly suggest using a discount, as this park is not worth the full price. You are allowed to bring one water bottle per person and you should because there are limited areas of shade. The two star review is because of the following: First, like many of the prior reviews have stated, the rides are old, unkept, and rickety. A few are even dangerous. The Wild Mouse gave me a bruised leg and sore neck. The main attraction for thrill seekers is the Kentucky Rambler, which was closed when we were there. There were other rides closed too. Second, most of the snack huts were closed. The lines at the opened concessions were long and moved slow. Of course food is overpriced too. I would recommend bringing your lunch/snacks in a cooler and going outside the park for eating. They allow you to go and come with a stamp. There are shaded picnic tables outside the park if you bring your lunch. You can't bring coolers of food inside. Third, the park is overrun with tweens and teens. Ages 12 and up are allowed in without an adult. My 9 year old son rode the bumper cars and got bumped really hard by a unsupervised teenager. I was worried he may have gotten whiplash. Fourth, our experience with the staff was pleasant and the only reason we gave 2 stars instead of 1 star. The staff enforced the rules and took their jobs seriously. Many of them joked around with my son. In conclusion, if you are an area tween or teen with a season pass, this park may be worthwhile. If you have kiddos under 5 years old, there are a number of kiddie rides that are safe enough. The water park also has a nice little kids section. The free parking and free sunscreen is a plus. If you arrive when they open, lines for rides aren't long, especially on weekdays. Again, if you pay full price for your tickets and don't bring your own food, you will probably be disappointed. However, if you pack food and get a discount, you may be able to enjoy yourself if you fancy low budget fair rides. I recommend Holiday World, about an hour from Beech Bend, it's well worth the drive. Holiday World is clean and the rides are safe. If you go to Holiday World in May, your tickets would be cheaper than Beech Bend.

Since four of the five people in our group had never done an escape room before, Katie (Mind Bender employee) suggested we try a more manageable challenge. Boy, were we glad we took her advice! We escaped with just 34 seconds remaining! Katie took pictures of our group when we were done - she was awesome! They have several different options providing for a range in difficulty and for differences in group size. This was a great first experience with escape rooms! It's been a life time of waiting but Nicole managed to finally bring us to Mammoth Cave on our trip…read morenorth to Ohio. We could not get tickets ahead of schedule as they were all booked. We got to the park when it opened at 9am Sunday morning and managed to snag some tickets for the 12:15 self guided tour. In the intervening hours I ran 10 miles in a slow drizzle on a path that was crushed gravel following along the same stretch of road that we took to enter the park. When it was our turn we were called by the over head PA to meet at Shelter for a short talk by the ranger before descending to the cave 200 ft below. A walk way takes you to the mouth of the entrance. We were able to walk a total of 2 miles in the tunnels which had an average temperature in the 50s. Wear a sweater or jacket before you go. The cave system is the longest in the world and we definitely could have kept going but were turned around at 3/4 of a mile into it. The caves possessed an artifact as old as 5000 years but the network of caves had inhabitants for much older. We got our National Park Pass stamped and also enjoyed exploring the gift shop and museum at the visitor center. The park has a great network of trails and camping and a lodge / hotel. We finished up at around 2pm and after about 5 hours in the park. It was a pristine day in the park with so much more to see, so we look forward to the next time.

I came to Kentucky action park so one of my kids could get a horse back ride. I don't remember the…read morelast time they smiled so hard. We did a 1 hour tour, which goes through the woods and circles back to the stable. My youngest was even permitted to take a horse herself (6yo). The staff in the stable were so kind to my wife and infant who stayed behind, even bringing out toys and entertaining them with the horses there. My daughters and wife loved the alpine slide. My go cart throttle broke down on my first lap, but they gave me another with some extra laps. I wish they had yellow horse tee shirts in my size. Those ones were the coolest.

This was our 2nd stop of the day on our family trip from Nashville…read more After leaving KY down under we went here. My wife rode the Alpine slide. It was a quick stop for us. For only $5 she got to ride the ski lift to top of the mountain and then ride the alpine slide down. She really enjoyed both parts. Really good deal for only $5. She was nervous to ride but when she finished she could not stop smiling. The staff were friendly but seemed occupied with each other more than the guest. Looking for something new and different to do for Wifey's birthday, we ended up making a trip to…read moreHose Cave, KY, and our first stop was Dutch County Safari Park. I'd driven down I-65 and seen the signs enough to know that it'd be a cool, fun place to visit. Located no far off of the expressway, Dutch County Safari Park is easy to find (just follow the signs). There isn't so much a grand entrance as there is a road the empties out to the large parking lot. The admission fee (roughly $18 per person) is reasonable. One the morning we went there were a lot of kids (and associated families), but that's to be expected, given this attraction is family and education based. The hay ride is the star of this show. You'll be driven by a tractor through the open field. You'll encounter zebras, camels, oxen, ostriches, and many other animals. Each person gets a bowl of feed, and these animals are absolute pros at eating as much as they can as the hay ride slowly makes its way through the park. There is a petting zoo with goats that's kind of fun. One of them tried to eat one of my show laces. There are a few indoor exhibits with rabbits and monkeys and a few other animals and a gift shop. It's easy to miss if you don't explore a bit, so keep your eyes open. This attraction is run by an Amish family, and I think that it's rather neat that the offer this to the public. Our visit lasted a little over an hour and was an hour well spent in the hot July sun. Most of the park is well-shaded, but bring a hat just in case.

I've never been zip lining and thought why not try it for the first time around Mammoth Caves…read more We found Adventure of Mammoth Cave and were all impressed with the experience. For a first timer, they did an excellent job explaining the safety equipment, as well as the capabilities of the zip lines themselves. Our guides took us out into the forest and got us clipped into the first lines and away we went. The thrill of flying through the tree tops had us all beaming with excitement. 5 lines in total, all at varying heights and distances sent smiles to all our faces. I know I was sad for the ~hour long experience to be over. We will be back if we have the opportunity!!!
