Cute clean coffee shop with a simple menu. They do a really good mocha, which I ordered half sweet and it was perfect. It had a nice foam and latte art on top, the coffee was really good quality, and had a nice smooth finish to it. Stopped here while waiting for brunch plans, and there was plenty of open seating inside. They also have beans and little trinkets available for purchase. Bought coffee, chai, an huckleberry frosted donut (note that the employee there was not sure of the flavor, but it was definitely huckleberry), and a banana oatmeal muffin. So let's just start with the most important thing here: the donut was amazing. Generously frosted (this totally satisfied my sweet tooth) and packed with flavor. I went in here for the first time today to study and get coffee, and I thought the atmosphere was nice and there are tables to work at. The coffee was pretty good although slightly overpriced, but every place is so I was okay with that. After an hour or so of doing homework, a man working here approached me and told me that tables are for paying customers only. Now I'm really not sure why he just assumed I wasn't a paying customer, but regardless, his tone was very hostile and rude. When I informed him nicely that I had paid for a drink, he began questioning me, "You bought a drink? What did you drink it and throw it away?" as if I was lying?? I'm not sure why that is so hard to believe, but it ruined my vibe and made me not want to come back. A perfect stop on a chilly day! We stopped in here for the first time yesterday as a break from the cold. 3 people in our party had mountain mochas- a mocha created with Andes mints. It was fabulous! The Andes sweetened the latte without all the syrupy taste. Several people in the party also got baked goods (chocolate chunk cook, banana bread, Gf banana loaf, and a berry muffin) and all were impressed. My family and I came into this place to try it out on our way back home! The atmosphere is nice, and it could for sure be a good place to just vibe. But the baristas were not welcoming at all. They never smiled and were honestly pretty rude. Why I give this place a low rating is for that aspect and how they made the coffee. I ordered an americano and she put ice first, water, cream then the shot and flavor last. Not my preference but if that's how you like your coffee then this place is fine! I went there for the first time today, excited when I found out they carry oat milk-I am a vegan, and prefer oat milk-because I have had to drive to Belgrade for coffee due to no other coffee shops carrying oat milk. I stated all this before ordering 2 drinks, excellent mood in hand. I went to pay, only had a $100 bill. The female would not take that big of a bill. Dear Rockford, Although you may be thousand of miles away from me, I am a moth to a flame and come back to you every time I am in town to visit family. Again, you did not disappoint hubby and I on our breakfast run. We specifically were craving, well to be honest, sort of drooling thinking about your bacon pepper jack panini and a chai tea latte. Can you tell? We have ordered this a few times before, but this is the first review that others must know about! As we patiently waited for other customers ahead of us, each order carefully made on this dreary, cold, wet, spring Sunday morning we reveled in the warmth and coziness of your adorable corner shop located at the northwest corner of W. Main and N. Seventh Avenue. While the wait might be a few minutes longer than a New York minute, trust me, it's worth your wait. Unfortunately we had to get the sandwich and latte to go but as soon as I was buckled in I dove right in to a heavenly panini. Maybe a seven grain bread lightly toasted filled with melted pepper jack cheese, scrambled eggs and oh yeah, yummy bacon! The chai tea latte was a perfect blend of chai and not too strong or too sweet. A light topping of whip and cinnamon were nice touches. So, Rockford, dadgummit (isn't that what they say out here?) You did it again! Keep us coming back for more! And remember that cranberry scone? Neither do I, but I still have crumbs in my pocket from eating that later on the plane ride home! This place is a solid coffeeshop. Mostly coffee but they do have a few tea options in the menu. The space is small though so it does lead to a lot of crowding around your space. Also, they don't seem to follow a strict mask policy with customers walking around without them and people carrying conversations for awhile without them on as well. Love the French roast here it's very similar to Caribou's French or Panera's dark roast... VERY powerful yet somehow SMOOTH at the same time
