Through years of consistent weekday and occasional weekend walks, Mike helped Goose socialize safely on solo and 'pack' walks. Knowing that Mike has worked with many of the same dogs and owners in the neighborhood for years really speaks to how much he is trusted with our four-legged family members. Renee was very informative and extremely helpful with the situation. We did a private session where she showed me various methods that have proven very effective in helping him with his issues. I also signed up for two leash aggression group sessions, so I could see how he did with other dogs in the class. Renee explained to us how important it was to get the training method right and be consistent for as long as it takes. Zig is doing much better. He has his moments, but many times it's because I didn't catch and correct the behavior in time and I know we are still at the beginning of our little journey. I am confident in Renee's advice because I've seen it work and I know that eventually, with time, Ziggy will be as confident as I am. My favorite thing about working with Renee is that it is obvious she knows and understands dogs and she shares her knowledge in a very unique, funny manner. It's also obvious that she cares. After both the private session and the group sessions, Renee was wonderfully responsive to emails/questions, always inquired about Ziggy's progress and offered additional suggestions if certain things didn't seem to be working. However-- and this is why we removed a star-- he is so busy that he can be inconsistent with being reached. When you're with him, he does give a lot of love and care, but there have been several instances of miscommunication when we were trying to set up training where we confirmed the day before about a training session and because we didn't confirm AGAIN the day of-- he didn't show up and thought our session was cancelled. I also wish he just booked our next appointment right at the end of session, but I think his partner organises everything. Because of this, and maybe this was due to the pandemic: we were sort of forced out of necessity (he wasn't answering emails or text messages) to switch to another trainer. I would recommend Eddie with the caveat that you'll have to be on top of him when it comes to scheduling. Again, he does good work and that should be noted. He just doesn't communicate as efficiently as we like. Maybe it's because his business is growing, and maybe taking too many clients at once (I don't want to assume,) but it got to be too much for us and we had to look elsewhere.
