Kimberly still would not accept my Groupon. I followed ALL of the many listed exclusions and she still told me to get a refund. (Even tho its says no refunds for 3 days of purchase and im sure she knows that.) Sad because I wanted to try something new and fun and she has great reviews. But without seeing me said she would have to charge me for a color correction? So bottom line either be prepared to pay full price for her or go to one of the million other salons in Encinitas and save yourself the hassle. Unfortunately for me It will take years to get my hair back the way I had wanted it. She doesn't like certain highlights just so you know. I like dimension to them. Took me years of working towards my own hair with the highlights as my friend would do my hair and I let her do what she wanted with color. She also doesn't like it if you ever had color in your hair even if it was 5-6 years ago. I debated whether I should write this as she didn't charge me all the extras at the end she added on only the base price. Though I'm really unhappy. She offered to put low lights in to fix it though she was really emotional and doesn't like the highlights I love saying I should get them hand painted in when it's always been acceptable before? So why should I trust her to fix something when she doesn't even like it. I even thought we were getting along well and apparently she said I didn't communicate it well and she was going to do what she wanted anyway as she's not a robot. Though most people you would think would follow the highlights there at least to some degree right? I went on a date after and was embarrassed. Also my mom freaked out when she saw it. Now it's going to cost to add low lights in for years until I have it grown out again. That's going to cost me way more for years read more

Got my hair trimmed and colored by Kimberly. I LOVED LOVED LOVED my color. I originally wanted to go black but I'm so thankful that she talked me out of it. If I could put zero stars, I would have. I just called Kimberley to ask about her Groupon deals and she explained that lightening my roots (1/2in outgrowth) was not covered by her haircut root touch up. This would have been fine if the explanation was not delivered with such a rude tone. I have done hair and am licensed, I know it's hard work. My friend and I had Groupons for blow outs with Kimberly. We appreciated that she accommodated us for back to back appointments and allowed us to catch up and chat while getting our hair done. What we found disappointing was that not only did she not ask what we wanted, she made us feel bad for our requests. Before getting my hair washed, I asked if I could have it curled as well which she noncommittally acknowledged saying she would charge more (which I was okay with). She then finished without doing so and then insulted us for using a Groupon and requesting anything more than a blow dry. She even made fun of another customer who bought a Groupon with her to get her daughter's hair done for her graduation. 'What do you expect for the price you paid?" She made it clear that any discount with her was equal to a discount service in addition to price. We will certainly not be back. read more

This review is long overdue. Used a Groupon for a cut and highlights after I had the worse haircut ever months before. I was scalped and had to wait til some hair finally grew out. Besides having little hair, it is also very fine. Kimberly studied my hair for a while first then she made some suggestions. I liked that she didn't chit chat about nonsense like some do...like questions about family, work, blah, blah blah. The talk was all about MY hair. The blonde highlights turned out beautiful. After the cut she taught me how to blow out my hair to give it fullness. I could not believe it looked like I had so much more hair than when I walked in. I was so happy. Kimberly was good at guiding me to a realistic new haircut. I wanted a new style after a couple of years of long hair in a ponytail but told her my limitations of wanting to keep my hair off my face and an easy to maintain style. She gave me a slightly angled cut (longer in the front) with layers in the back for movement. The length is still long enough to put up when I want and she explained how I could work with the natural wave in my hair. Kimberly also expertly explained how to color correct my hair to blend in my grays and colored my roots.
