Their large, air-conditioned main hall seats hundreds, while a massive outside tent offers covered festival space in their parking lot. A makeshift midway runs between the two, lined with food, clothing, jewelry and artwork vendors. We chose to dine in the main hall, which was set up cafeteria-style, with two separate service lines. The menu included a nice variety of Greek specialties, such as seasoned, roasted chicken, braised lamb shank, gyros, fish, moussaka, stuffed grape leaves and Grecian seasoned meatballs, accompanied by an a la carte selection of side dishes and beverages. Greek beers and wines were also available. The dessert area offers quick boxed baklava, but take time to walk through and linger over the divine selection of over a dozen varieties of sticky, fruity, chocolaty, honey-nutty homemade Greek pastries. Their volunteers are more than happy to help you make your selections. This is the real deal, if you appreciate authentic Hellenic cuisine and culture. Both indoor and outdoor areas featured live bands during the evening, with a large group of young adults engaged in a lively line dance outside. Parking is tight, but they have an overflow lot nearby with shuttle service all evening. Major credit cards accepted in the main dining hall, along with most of the vendors. Delicious food, awesome desserts, great entertainment and a fabulous venue combined to make for a wonderfully pleasant evening.

New generations turn backs on the traditions that defined this city. No official recognition or PR efforts have been directed toward the Eastern European immigrant soul of Cleveland. But that soul survives. It is the churches and ethnic organizations that pass on the traditions of the muscle that created the wealth of art, industry, sports, parks and identity called Cleveland. For one day every year the Scouts recreate a neighborhood where Hungarian is spoken, bands play folk music and rhapsodies, and dancers entertain. Hungarian cuisine differentiates itself from all others in that much of it is prepared outside over open fires. After all goulash was beef cooked by cowboys in lard flavored by chilies. In Texas the same is called chili. On the grounds of the German Central Park volunteers prepare chimney cake, pork steak sandwiches, grilled kolbasz, palacsinta and the fried bread called langos. Most likely the beer garden is overflowing when the Irish or Germans hold their events but Hungary is a coffee society so the cafe is favored for pastry with strong coffee. In the restaurant the home cooked paprikas, stuffed cabbage, and sausage is endlessly served. A mass is held as well as a Protestant service. The parking lot is filled to the overflow lot across the street as Hungarians and guests come from all over the region. Like all Eastern Europeans, Hungarians are self sufficient, proud and loyal. We like life as Hungarian Americans living in the Great Lakes. Our culture endures thanks to organizations such as the Hungarian Scouts. Our influence remains whether at a stall in the West Side Market, a small restaurant in Avon, St. Emeric's defying the bishop, or the haunting music of Cleveland's Harmonia band. We are still around.

We enjoyed the contortionist show before we walked the festival. The little ones like seeing the elephant and some of the other animals that were out. We also partook in the bubble teas and some other beverages. Hands on activities are the best! We have so many exciting memories and pictures I can't share them all! I liked the drum that lit the tree up, it reminded me of the tree Ewa on the movie Avatar. You get exercise and steps in while observing wonderful art. It's a win-win. Tip: park close to the exit so you don't wait forever to leave when the festival ends.

I arrived with 2 friends after leaving church. We arrived just before 1:30pm. They had some activities for kids such as a jumping castle. FOOD -- There was one big food line. There were starters (such as grape leaves, fatayer which is a spinach pie, grape leaves, kibbie - seasoned ground beef in a ball like shape, hummus, etc) and there were pita sandwiches (such as chicken tawook and beef shawarma). I had the Kibbie ($10) and then I tried the beef and chicken pita sandwiches that my friends had got. I enjoyed the kibbie alot because I've had it before so I knew what to expect. It's very flavourful. It has seasoned ground beef, bulgur, onions, and pine nuts in it. The pita sandwiches were tasty too. The food tasted authentic enough. I don't like onions but the onions inside the Kibbie were finely chopped so I could barely taste it. My friend Rachel commented that she would rate the festival 3/5 and her friend commented that she would rate it 4/5. Rachel said the food didn't taste authentic enough (the chicken pita sandwich that she had plus she mentioned that the sandwich wasn't worth $12). They also had a dessert table where bakalava was sold but I decided not to buy any dessert. Music is played most of the time under the picnic grove. Overall, this was a fun and family friendly festival. I'll be back next year. Denyse was kind, helpful and insightful. She gave me suggestions, directed me to videos of her classes that would help me and even followed up!! So much encouragement, I feel like I can do it. Pedal For Prizes is an annual free event open for participants to bike to 22 places throughout Old Brooklyn including famous-on-yelp businesses Jack Frost Donuts and the Sausage Shoppe and lesser known entities like the community garden at Benji and the nice houses on South Hills. Beginning at Loew Park, you're given a map of the locations and a card to be stamped at each of the locations. You or a group of your friends can visit as many or few as you want, in any order, as you explore Old Brooklyn. 3 hours later, return to Loew Park and exchange your stamp card for Chinese raffle tickets to be used on some cool prizes (gift certificates to Old Brooklyn businesses, bike stores, and other random items like Ambiance gift cards - haha). In 2010, PFP's first year, I won a bike helmet. This year's turn-out of nearly 400 [of all ages, it's kid-friendly] was impressive, only 60 did last year. With the overwhelming turn-out, the event ran relatively smoothly although the staff had to push back the raffle a half hour to accommodate all of the returning riders. I had a warm, fuzzy feeling in me all day by seeing so many people in Old Brooklyn and seeing what it has to offer. In only its 2nd year, Pedal For Prizes is becoming the signature event of Old Brooklyn.

The sales tactics, marketing methods and vastly overpriced products became increasingly more astonishing as I researched this company and its distributors. The worst component is the borderline fraudulent lead-generation tactic used to get the salesman into the home. As if that slimy approach was not enough, the products themselves are misrepresented and incredibly over-priced. The salesman quotes a "world class" warranty, but does not tell the customer that the warranty only continues as long as the purchaser buys new filters at a price upwards of $155 dollars a year. Low-ball Poker or Fraud? I received a "Scratch & Win game" card in my newspaper, the Spokesman Review (3/23/16). One side of the card has "Casino Night" a festive font. It also displays "$10,000 Grand Prize!" There is a scratch-off section similar to a Lottery ticket. I scratched this section and exposed the text WINNER showing a poker hand of four Jacks in my five card poker hand, which is clearly one of the highest poker hands available. On the reverse of the card is a listing of the possible poker hands and a list of prizes. The four Jacks hand is the second best hand displayed, just under the four Kings hand. The second most valuable prize is an Apple Mac Book Air with a retail value of $999. There is a note in small print which states, "Order of winning hands does not match the order of prizes." The list of poker hands is in the familiar order; three of a kind at the top and four of a kind at the bottom. The list of prizes is apparently in random order, but has the $10,000 grand prize matched to the four Kings hand. Unless you are playing a game of low-ball poker, the best prize should logically be matched to the best hand and the same on down the hierarchy of poker hands; the three of a kind (three fours) is the lowest poker hand and should correspond to the lowest value prize, which happens to be a kitchen serving set. To cut to the bottom line of the marketing scam, I believe the vast majority of the scratch cards display a winning hand of four face cards: either Kings or Jacks, and I also believe there are no three of a kind hand cards available. In the perverse scheme of this marketing promotion, the recipient of the four of a kind poker hand sees that he or she has a great hand and is willing to put up with a short sales presentation to "earn" the prize which rightfully should be one of the high value items in the list, a Canon camera, an iPod Touch or an Apple MacBook Air. However, the clever scheme is actually topsy-turvy from what the average layman should expect. The lowest hand apparently wins the grand prize; the high hands win the BBQ tool set. The genius behind this "Low-Ball" marketing scheme is that the person who receives the low hand, say the three of a kind, realizes he or she will never beat the four of a kind hand, and will most likely throw the card away, thereby allowing the marketer to never deliver the most valuable prizes. I suspect that the company only provides the lowest value prizes - the BBQ set or the Kitchen Serving set, both worth below ten dollars each. The BBQ set is available on line for $9.20 each in a twenty pack. I experienced this scam presented by "Rick" from Hayden, Idaho and felt rather stupid but in awe of the marketing genius behind the scam. If the products presented in the sales presentation were of value it might make the embarrassment worthwhile, but sadly, that is not the case. In addition, the salesman told outright lies, total fabrications and simply seemed to make stuff up as he went along. Sales Tactics: There's a Sucker born every minute. The sales presentation for the Defender Filter Queen is an exercise in "FUD." That is, Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. The salesman uses an electronic device purporting to suck in and measure the contaminants in room air. He makes statements that the air is foul, contaminated and probably deadly, causing all manner of pulmonary and sinus diseases. He quotes from happy customers who swear the filtered air cured their various ailments. He measures dust and attempts to use a scare tactic to make the potential buyer believe this household dust is particulate matter that causes disease, which of course contains a particle of truth, pun intended. He also stated that our home suffered from "sick building syndrome" by EPA standards. The EPA does not use that term, which is used for buildings contaminated with chemical agents (Gaseous pollutants), not dust (particulate matter). The EPA makes no mention of "sick building syndrome" on their web site related to indoor air quality. I've got a place fairly close to me in Allentown, PA that's been doing a driving light display like this for years which is $10 less or I could go to the one at Hershey Park which would be more lights than here but is still technically cheaper. 2. In a sort of, it's not their fault category, the day prior it snowed and several of the displays weren't fully visible due to being some version of snow covered/snow obstructed. Overall this one is nice but small and before you know it, you're done. Is it worth it? For a Grinch like me, it's a waste of money, for someone who loves their Christmas, they might see this as a good investment.

My birthday was coming up and seemed like the perfect opportunity for this idea, so I contacted Feels Like Home Farm to set up a private "snuggle session" for six people. I expected to meet the baby goats, pet some alpacas, and be on our way, but the experience was so much more than that! Marcus (one of the owners) gave our group a full tour of the farm and told us so many interesting things about the animals there. Marcus is a great tour guide and really made the experience for us (and has great travel tips). We all walked away knowing a lot more about the animals on the farm and what taking care of them entails. While I was there, I didn't think about law school once! We all had plenty of opportunities to hold the baby goats, which were even more adorable than I imagined they would be. We also fed the alpacas and met a lot of other animals (adult goats, guard dogs, guard geese, and various cats). If you love animals but cannot have your own farm, or if you are up for a unique experience in the Cleveland area, I highly suggest booking a tour and snuggle session at Feels Like Home Farms! I will be back for goat yoga :)

I'm a huge adventure junkie and....this goat yoga party was one of my favorite adventures to date....This farm is literally a utopia... Feels Like Home Farm is AMAZING for: a) Private Parties - Reasonably priced and SO MUCH FREAKING FUN! Also so unique - you're never going to have another party like this! b) Goat Yoga Events - they run community yoga classes on a somewhat-regular basis throughout the year (schedule is on the farm's website!) and they're a great way to get out and try something new with friends. Their instructor, Deanna Black, is an excellent teacher and make the class very unique. I've been doing yoga for years and I'm kind-of a yoga snob....and I freaking love Deanna. Great way to support a local farm! If I could give Alissa (and her family), Deanna, the farm, the goats, the class, and the entire experience 1,000,000,000 stars, I would. I'll call out a couple things, although the list of positives is far too long to write: 1) The farm: Is STUNNING. LOTS of land and very peaceful. They have ~50 goats, primarily 4 different breeds. All are happy, healthy, ADORABLE, and super friendly. They also have 2 awesome dogs, a CUTE LITTLE PIG named Dottie (omg!), and happy ducks waddling around. Their neighbors let us meet their CRAZY-COOL mini donkeys, cows, and pigs! I honestly never wanted to leave. Alissa and her husband took us on a tour of the farm and taught us all about their animals!! It was AWESOME! 2) The people: Alissa, her husband, and her daughters were unbelievably passionate about what they do at the farm, loving towards their animals, and so excited to share their farm with us. Alissa was INCREDIBLY responsive to all of my requests, and personalized literally EVERY little thing about the party. She was very creative, and thought of ideas I NEVER would have (like bringing in a local food truck!). I interact with a lot of business owners through Yelp, and Alissa has been by far the most fun and passionate one yet. 3) The Yoga: If you want a good workout, Deanna's class is great. She is also EXCELLENT at leading guided meditations. I was so relaxed and present by the end of class. Deanna is also AWESOME at incorporating acro-yoga into her classes. We did some CRAZY moves I've never done before (see my pictures!) 4) Convenient location - The farm is only about 25 - 30 minutes from Ohio City and an easy drive. We had no issues with parking at all. HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for making this such an unbelievably unique experience that none of us will forget!

I don't buy into macho-hotter than hell to prove who a man is. That's childish, I just want a little sweet heat to let my mouth know that it's alive. Cover charge was reasonable, there was also pierogi, chicken paprikash, roasted corn, fried foods and sweets vendors as well.

I recommend doing this so you can sample a bit of each vendor! Each vendor has a slightly different taste in their BBQ sauce. My favorite was Johnson's! Their ribs were really tender and the sauce was a bit tangy and sweet, just the way I like it :) We also tried Porky-N-Beans, Pigfoot, and Gator BBQ, all of which were unique and delicious! I recommend getting a side of corn bread and sweet tea to finish off the southern experience! :) This is definitely an event you don't want to miss! There are certain times of the day where admission is free, so make sure you check their website for more details.

We roamed the tents on both sides, sampling lots of garlic goodness, and buying items that wowed us. There were also cooking demonstrations using, of course, GARLIC, as well as live music on two stages. Here are a few of our favorites: * Sergio's Sarava's Garlic Shrimp: Sergio's really took the theme to heart and made a savory shrimp with big garlic flavor and presented it on a bed of garlic rice to boot! This one really hit the mark on celebrating garlic. Loved it! * Most interesting - Garlic Ice Cream by Mitchell's: we had to try it... everyone should try it... it actually did work! As a side note, they also had the most unbelievable caramel and salt ice cream. Just go try it, your jaw will drop. * Roasted Garlic Salsa from Blaze Gourmet (so big and flavorful - one of the best salsas out there, and it's local!) * Garlic Expressions Salad Dressing (yep, it's local too - we've been buying this for years.) * The Olive and the Grape's many Garlic Olive Oils, Cooking Oils, and spice packets. The spices they incorporate are not the basic stuff, these delightful blends are carefully scrutinized with a passion for the highest quality, healthiest ingredients from all over the world. * Whole Foods' extremely pungent, spicy garlic hummus. That says it all. Whoa. Our only criticism is that there were some who showcased their regular fare without doing something creative with garlic. We expected everything to be garlic something. Hence, Garlic Festival. One of those things that's basically implied, if you don't love garlic, then don't come. So we challenge participants next year to bring out the garlic. The lines aren't as long as I would expect, and 90% of the trucks take credit cards which is a huge plus! Get there early because parking is just like anywhere else in downtown Cleveland IMPOSSIBLE! I'm not sure if they operate rain or shine but I sure hope so cause I would get soaked to have these food options again. My only little minor gripe is that I wish there was more tables available, that's more so on the city of Cleveland and not the food truck owners but I thought I should put it out there that there is very limited seating if you plan on soaking up some sun I went with the good ole fired up taco truck and I wasn't disappointed. Three tacos for $10, can't beat that. I wanted to try the donut truck as well but their line was too much for me, I will definitely be back though it's definitely a lot to soak up in one trip!
