A few times recently my girlfriend and I were driving back from NJ and decided on a whim to stop in Monsey. We had no intensions of stopping the first time, but thankfully had a cooler in the car for some other food we were bringing back from NJ. We decided we needed to just stop in and see what it was like. He had heard previously from people that Monsey is a great place do to your kosher shopping, but this blew our thoughts out of the water. As we entered the parking lot I saw nothing but modestly dressed women and men wearing mainly black and white clothing. Although I had my kippah and tzitzit on I still felt like I stood out being in a pair of cargo pants and a t-shirt. This supermarket was probably the size of a regular supermarket however everything in it was kosher. Although we have a supermarket by where we live with a large kosher selection, nothing compared to the option of this place. Really our only question was is this dairy vs pareve rather than is the product kosher, but there was no question on our ability to buy it. The prices here were also simply amazing to me. Here if I wanted to buy a thing of kosher cheese I am looking at 6 bucks a package. At this store it was 3. If I wanted eggs, it was only $1 for a dozen, where do you find prices like that? They had boxes of frozen pizza and fish and everything else you could think of. Most stuff was for the price of the comparable unkosher product. I think the best deal was 1 dozen fresh chicken wings for $1. One of the coolest parts was that at the front of the supermarket was a Mikvah. For obvious reasons there was a sign that it could only be used to items purchased there, but there was at least a Mikvah there for items purchased there. I would have never expected to see that somewhere! This place will definitely be a regular stopping point for us for now on. read more

If you are looking for any kind of Jewish, Israeli or Kosher food this is your spot. I was amazed by how much product they have. Massive inventory. The place is very crowded (especially before the Sabbath) and a total panic in general, but worth a look if you're in the area. read more

I am a fan, although I try to shop elsewhere when I can as their prices are slightly higher than the other stores. They have a wider selection being a bigger store than all the others except Evergreen. Their bakery Shlomy's makes wicked danishes babka and challah and I have lost hope in shopping for backed goods elsewhere. The beef some consider chabad (yea!) however the David Eliot chicken is always one day away from being bad at best... Another downside of rockland kosher is they mostly carry only haimish brands, so you miss out on a lot of options by shopping here if you do eat anything other than glick's. All in all? I am happy with rockland kosher. ps. You should also know that when they opened the store they attached to the building another 50 small stores with everything from shoes to books to jewelry. They are all listed under the same street address. If you ever want to buy anything Jewish or Judaic you can make this place your one stop shop. read more

Horrible customer service. I called in 3 times for a simple answer to Matzah that I had purchased. The box said 'Kosher for Passover ' on the front in large letters,, yet on the side it said' not for Passover' year round only. Last night the woman from customer service said no one is here to help you call tomorrow. I called today, she cut me off on the phone... I called back and she said 'if you want matzah come in. I don't live in the US so that is difficult. She said I can't help you and hung up on me. She was very rude and abrasive on the phone. A huge turn off. read more

It might be a great supermarket, but be warned if trying to order anything online. I was charged $16.63 for UPS Ground delivery in Manhattan of a $50 order weighing less than 0.5 lbs. I'm all for capitalism and all that, but ripping off your customers on delivery charges that at most are $5 is greedy and dishonest. Be warned. read more

This place is HUGE. Very wide isles and typical costumer service. I've never had any issues there.

For the Kosher shopper it's definitely an excellent place to go. Almost all kinds of foods, fresh meat, dairy and fish counters - are all pretty tasty. The bakery is so-so. The only other caveats would be the pricing - compared to other smaller kosher supermarkets in the area. A little pricey on certain items, but fair on most others. One last point, avoid on Friday afternoons - at all costs - it is a mad house. read more

I used to shop weekly at rockland kosher, however I was always unhappy with there customer service. There delivery system tops it off. No grocery in Monsey had such issues with delivery. I used to make an order 11am and receive it 9pm. Since evergreen opened I make there my weekly order. There customer service is great, and delivery is within the 2 hours. read more

If I can give a lower rating than one star I would. They should make one fourth of a star. Although that would still be a generous rating. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. They are dishonest and customer service is non existent. They actually hang up on the customer. Not sure if I ever experienced such disrespect before. I've called many times about an order that was not sent. They do not return messages and when they finally do pick up after several hours of trying to get in touch with them, they hung up on me. They charged my credit card for it though so I know that they are not incapable of using their hands to pick up a phone. You have been warned. read more

I ordered kosher food online from them, very smooth, good customer service. Their shipping costs are on the high side, and their selection is not perfect, but their reliability is well above average, and is worlds better than their biggest competitor (Avigl***). read more
