Referral process: They declined our referral stating that the provider did not have the proper…read morecredentials---they didn't bother to call the provider and try to help. They sent us home. Numerous new referrals were sent via fax and Viera Diagnostic claimed they did not receive any of them when we called to follow-up. We asked if they would let us know when they received the referral and they stated that we would just need to keep calling to see if they received it. Eventually, I had to call the provider and receive a new printed copy through their portal to physically provide Viera Diagnostics. That should've been a sign! That whole debacle delayed us getting the x-ray. The appointment: The x-ray tech was kind and professional. Results: Results were never provided to my son's doctor. The x-ray was needed in a timely manner to make treatment decisions. At the appointment, they said it'd be 2-3 days. I never heard from them so figured they had sent results to the referring doctor, which is typically standard protocol (unless the patient or family is advised otherwise). Over a week later, I didn't hear anything from my doctor and when I called Viera Diagnostic Center to follow-up, I was told it'd be sent immediately (no apology or explanation was provided for the delay). However, nothing happened as our doctor still never received the images. Following a 2nd call and a request to speak with the manager, the results were suddenly received by our doctor. At this point, the x-ray was completed 1 day shy of 2 weeks ago. The results were simply an interpretation that sounded minimal---NO IMAGES for the referring doctor to review!! The manager never called me either. There is also no portal for the patient to access images. For a very simple x-ray, this process caused me a lot of stress!

Anticipated the new pt paperwork. There was quite a few pages. But the older lady look like she was ready for her lunch break. My appt was at 1220. Walked in around 1155. She even mentioned that I was early. Which I responded back with I was asked to come early. Like the reminders say that. Didn't like the attitude. Didn't appreciate it. Get called to the back by a tech. She also wasn't pleasant. Again, a little older. Definitely look like she wasn't having it either. I needed an MRI w/contrast. We went into the locker room area, she was running through the stuff I can't have on or whatever. Did all that. Then I go sit and wait for her to insert an IV line for contrast. Asks which arm and I give her my right. She couldn't get it. 4 pokes later I was fed up. I had to ask for someone else to come do it, I was tired of being the pin cushion. She huffed loud and asked the guy with the long hair to come do it. I gave him my other arm and BAM! First try and gets it. He wasn't any more pleasant but honestly by that point I was fed up. The only good thing here is that before I laid down fully for the MRI. I was asked what music I wanted to listen to and surely enough she at least pulled through for me for that. I'll try another place if I need to get anything done the next time. This place is not it.

Keep careful track of your billing! Somehow they are trying to bill me for a scan from 3 years ago…read moreand they cannot explain why. The only explanation I am given is a vague "your account was on hold" and has "just been released". Just released from a payment plan from 9 years ago. Why? No one can tell me. It really feels like a scam. So hold on to proof a payment and billing for at least 10 years or you may get a shocking bill several years post service.

UTI fit me in for imaging a few hours later. Jennifer at the front desk could tell I was a little confused and she helped me so much, she actually filled out my information. The Ultra Sound tech, took me right back and helped me on the table and explained everything she was doing. I was bruised pretty bad, and she was so gentle and kind to me. I hope UTI will let their employees what an asset they are to UTI. I would highly recommend this Imaging facility.

So when I first got there, it was my first time getting a ultrasound done or whatever and I had…read moregrabbed my phone out my bag and I was about to lay down some white lady snatches my phone out my hand, then says oh there's three signs in here I can't record then proceed to do everything in our appointment and she only printed me out two ultrasound pictures. I just think that they're not welcoming at all and that she was being very rude to me. I didn't even know that I couldn't record and she's just snatches my belongings out my hands. She told me to come back for my 20 week ultrasound but baby I ain't coming back.

She was unprofessional during both visits, watching news on the TV with the sound turned up and talking to me about politics during my scans. It seemed like she paid much more attention to the TV than my ultrasound. I've had several ultrasounds at other facilities and the technicians never talk to me during the scan except to give me instructions, because they are focused on doing a good job. This tech kept telling me during the ultrasounds she didn't see anything and that I didn't have anything, when that is not her job--she should leave that to the radiologist or my doctor. Recently I started seeing a new doctor, she informed me that I will need to get these ultrasounds redone because they were clearly incomplete and poorly done. Additionally, the office staff is disorganized and unhelpful. I called dozens of times throughout the week when trying to schedule my appointments, and they never answered the phone or returned a voicemail. I noticed every time I was in their waiting room, I never heard a phone ring so I know I'm not the only patient who has had these problems. I let this lack of service slide at the time because they were one of the only options available to me with my old insurance and because I thought I was at least getting the scans I needed done. Now that I know what a bad job they did with my scans, I felt like I needed to write a review so that people considering this office might consider putting their trust in a better facility.

Maybe it was a bad day for all involved but I feel that they were undeserved. I want you the reader to know I have no affiliation with Beach Medical other than being a patient. I'm not some paid-for person giving a review - these are my honest opinions: I'm in the process of getting both shoulders and a knee operated on in San Diego but I live nearby Beach Medical in IHB Florida. With this whole Covid thing all my appointments got tossed up in the air including my MRIs which were to take place in San Diego. I had a doctors consult scheduled May 6th and was to get the images done May 4th but my flights got cancelled. I'd driven past Beach medical numerous times (it's right across from Too Cool Cafe which is an awesome restaurant!) so I thought I'd give them a call on April 27th ... first, they were super professional and nice on the phone and were able to schedule not one, but all three MRIs in that week. In my experience it would take a month or more to schedule an MRI! ... so on to the visits ... The office was spotless and they were doing a great job keeping people distanced and everyone (including me) had masks on. Arleen was very professional and pleasant at the front desk, and Terisina was way too eager to take my copay ... lol ... As I saw them each visit we all joked around a little as I came in. Rod and Lizzy were my MRI techs and both were really nice, making sure I was comfortable and got me in and out of the procedure safely and courteously. OBTW the machine used was their open MRI which was much nicer than the closed ones I had been in before. Finally, I met Dr. Beirre. He was very nice, professional and quite courteous as well. All of my reports were sent to San Diego by the end of the week and they gave me a DVD to mail after the end of my last scan. I was able to keep my doctor consult appointment (via video) that following week and my doctor had no complaints whatsoever with the quality of the imagery or the reports. I want to say thank you to all the staff there for getting me in under such short notice, working with my insurance, and getting the results to my doctor promptly. Well done. :) CB
