We rented an alto sax and the nicest guy ever explained what my son would need. When you rent an instrument for the school year, you pay in full up front. The guy made it clear that you won't pay a penalty if it's past the May deadline because schools have end of the year concerts etc. Near the end of the year we got a card in the mail telling us if we paid for next years rental we could keep the instrument over the summer for free. We did that. Also, a rental includes a yearly "tune up". While the sax was in the shop, our son announced he needed it TODAY for school. Of course. I called the store and talked to the woman who was repairing it. "Oh I'm working on it now, I could have it for you in 20 mins." Perfect

First I called about the turnaround time and was told I'd get an estimate on a Sunday and pick up by the following Tuesday. I even mentioned we had a band concert that week and absolutely had to have it back by Tuesday. It didn't seem like it was a problem. But then... I didn't hear back Sunday and I didn't hear back Tuesday and when I called I was unable to reach the store Tuesday and Wednesday. I even called the MOA location and Southdale location, I honestly thought they shut down business. I finally got a call back from an employee who apologized saying Pika had not been in from illness all week. Wow, I felt really bad. The next day I got a call from Pika herself who said she has been in Florida and wouldn't be back for a week. I don't even write reviews anymore but I had to share the poor experience I had with Prince Music Company. They lacked honesty and integrity.

Located in Roseville right off Lexington, this coffee shop services artists, musicians and even yoga classes. There are 2 sides: the coffee shop and the performing side. There are a wide variety of espresso drinks available hot or iced. Note: this is a dairy free spot so there is no regular milk. They do have coconut, almond, oat and soy. I opted for a maple latte with coconut milk. It was lovely. I also purchased a banana orange muffin and I also thought it was yummy. All of the baked goods are sourced via The Grateful Table bakery. The interior is intimate and cozy. There is a larger back area with books and big oversized chairs. I can't speak for the music and activity side as I didn't attend but I did poke my head in. Instead, Groth is the spot to go to when you want to find sheet music. I think there's still a lot of value in this despite e-commerce. A lot of times, the quality of sheet music isn't clear, especially for pop music. It's very useful to be able to look at the pages for yourself. I'm rating Groth 3 stars because no employee felt like greeting me. I was especially disappointed that the guy in the guitar section simply sat at his desk without even trying to engage me at all. He semi-grumpily said "let me know if you have any questions." I genuinely could've bought something, even a guitar, if he took the second to chat with me like many local music shop workers often do.
