This a serviceable storage facility. There is decent security by way of a gate that requires a…read morepasscode. There is lighting near most of the units, and there are plenty of spaces for RVs, boats, or other large vehicles. When I rented the unit, I needed it on short notice. They were able to get me in on short notice. Also, I didn't know exactly how much space I needed, so they reserved another unit for me in case I found out on moving day that I needed the additional space. They did this without charge, which was appreciated. I would give them 4 stars, but their contract stipulates that any unused rents are non-refundable. This is extremely annoying, and I think cheap. If you rent the unit for 3 days, you pay for the full month. It's clearly on the contract, I'm not alleging I was tricked. But, if you are in need of a unit quickly (as I was), you aren't really in a position to shop around.

The Storage Center lists their origin as "Established in 2021", which is true to the sale of the facility. Originally this establishment was locally owned and operated as Shepherd Self Storage. I never had any issue with Shepherd Self Storage. Since The Storage Center took over operation of the facility service has declined and the cost of my unit has gone from $70/month to $132/month. My unit has been broken into twice since 2021. The lanes between the buildings are narrow and frequently blocked by other tenants accessing their units. There are lots of other places out there and I wouldn't recommend The Storage Center.

Not sure how this makes them a good storage option, but it shows that this isn't some corporate/owned, HR or marketing wonk who's running the show. It seems to be real people at Morningstar Storage and maybe they won't jack their rates 3 months after you put your crap in storage.
