My dog has a special need, and I stated that from the beginning. Kyle decided 30 days later shortly after she got hurt that they couldn't accommodate to her. Bowhaus did start an open claim with their insurance company. Kyle received the orthopedic vet exam report and he had the audacity to tell me there was nothing wrong with my dog per his own observation. It was very dismissive and he basically disregarded the exam/ x-rays that was performed by one of Colorados top vet orthopedic hospital. Kyle is not a vet or anything close to it he openly admits. I sent him a video of her limping then he stops emailing me or return my calls. Their insurance company is a joke. Out of nowhere the claim adjuster started raising her voice, cutting me off and then hung up on me. I called two different times requesting to speak to Kyle after speaking to the insurance agent. Even stating to his staff to give him a memo of the urgency of the reason of why he needs to call or I would report Bowhaus Boulder to CDA for PACFA violations of Duty of care. Of course, ultimately Kyle never got back to me.

You fill out an insanely long questionnaire for each dog, so I thought that meant the staff would be knowledgeable about the dogs and extremely caring. When I arrived, they didn't even know I had filled it out, even though I had an appointment. The guy working in the little office was very cold and not personable at all, maybe I caught him on a bad day. I had never been there, there were no signs telling you where to go, and I couldn't find anybody, so I called the number and he came out from the play area. He gruffly told me to ring the bell in the office (as if I would know to ring a bell on a wall that you don't even see) and when I said sorry, I didn't know he answered, "That's why I'm telling you!" I was never offered any kind of tour to see the facility, and I was told that at pick up the guy would meet with me to tell me how they did. I wasn't worried because my dogs have been to many different daycares and go twice a week. When I picked up my dogs, for some reason they were in the barn instead of the play area and they were panting like crazy in the car. When we got home they both drank a full bowl of water very quickly. I'm hoping they had access to water while they were there! The gentleman never had that recap at pick up, he just told me that they did well they didn't hump any other dogs. Maybe I'm just spoiled because my regular daycare has cameras and the staff are super friendly and treat my dogs like their own. I just got a weird vibe from this place.

Rouge's has a nice clean play area for the dogs to play all day with other dogs, artificial turf and nice big mature trees for shade, a small pool and plenty of water to drink. The sleeping kennels are nice and clean and have elevated sleeping cots, they said he went and stood by his room each night waiting to be let in for his sleep, we felt very comfortable leaving our fur baby here, we also bring him over here for play dates on occasion so we can get a break and he can have a good time playing with other dogs, he is always happy to go there.

They don't sell much of anything, there's few high-end dog food and cat food. I didn't even browse canned food, wasn't much selection. There's some bags of treats, none my puppy was interested in and today, is her 9th birthday! I thought, we could pick up party hat and some treats...hmm, we only picked a Happy Birthday cookie. No birthday hats and I took a free leash (aqua), which I use for training. My only purchase was the birthday cookie and unfortunately, not much else to purchase. *My apologies, my pup made a mess in store and appreciate the employee that cleaned up. He has always been well-cared for and very much enjoys spending time out in the yard with the other dogs. He's getting older now and the owners are very caring towards him. They always accommodate his special diet instructions and indulge my need to send his favorite blanket with him to have in his kennel at night. We live very close by and I often hear him barking to no one from our back deck only to hear far off barks coming back and I can't help but wonder if they are his friends at the kennel.

You can tell they play, pay attention to, and LOVE their guests. With a good price too! This boarding facility stands out cause it's not "big company" owned. Mom and Pop shop type of feel here. They are not doing it for the money. They are doing it cause they truly view animals as family members (like how we do with our own pets). They offer bath before pickup (which is great/needed). Grooming, cuts, nail trims, GIANT suites etc. The most important key factor to take away is that my dog came home ready to go to back inside the facility... I am scared to drive past here with the windows rolled down cause he may take the mighty jump and make a run for it to re-experience his good ol' memories. I worked at an Mom 'n Pop AZ dog boarding business for 2 years and this place beats it by long run. This place is NOT the enclosed city like boarding experience. I had my…read morefirst issue here over the weekend and was able to see firsthand how little they value customers and care about the dogs. My dog was severely injured and almost lost her eye due to negligence on their end. After speaking with the animal hospital I was advised that MANY dogs come to the hospital with a variety of injuries and that CO Dog Academy is not transparent when injuries occur. The Kennel is known as having a "sketchy" reputation and the fact they don't have cameras is a huge red flag. Pat the owner was incredibly combative with me when I asked him to pay for the vet bill. He offered $500 and I asked how he came up with that amount when the cost of treatment was triple that amount. He said I had no proof they were responsible. What I believe happened is that the old rusty door that leads to the outside kennel fell and trapped my dog by her neck (they found grease all over her). As a result, eye proptosis occurred (very painful injury where the eye pops out) I'm so disappointed with how CO Dog Academy handled this matter. I'll Post pics on yelp. I can't express how grateful I am for Dan at Colorado Dog Academy. My daughter and her family…read morerecently rescued a 5-year-old Pit Bull named Maverick. He has been a wonderful addition to their family and has excelled in obedience training. However, he is quite reactive around other dogs. My daughter had been working diligently with a professional trainer for some time, but they weren't making much progress with Maverick to help him around other dogs. I encouraged my daughter to contact the Academy and speak with Dan, who I have known for 40 years and has trained several of my own dogs. I told her, "If there is a trainer who can help Maverick, it's Dan." Dan did not disappoint! After two weeks of board and train for Maverick, I met my daughter at the Academy today with my two dogs, which Maverick had not yet met. Dan facilitated a greeting and interaction between them, and it went even better than we could have hoped for. It was important for our entire family to spend time together, and that includes our dogs. Dan has made that possible for us. I cannot thank Dan and Colorado Dog Academy enough for helping us get on the right path with our pack. We will be forever grateful.
