Amazing facility that our dog family members have enjoyed staying in for years. One of our dogs in particular was VERY challenging. Blind but blessed with amazing abilities to escape from any enclosure and cause tremendous havoc and mayhem-Mike and Heather tamed the beast. Medications were dispensed with pharmacy precision and we were able to escape for a few days with complete peace of mind. We used to go here for our boarding needs. Never felt so welcoming. NEW owner is awesome! Can call during hours and get a friendly person answering the phone. Our 90 lb white lab seemed to do very well. We were actually on a waiting list for the long holiday weekend and got a call they had a space. We didn't realize there were new owners but were pleasantly surprised. We will be going again and are discussing some training. Best boarding experience! read more

This is a great kennel! I'm not afraid to go out of town anymore because I know that both my dogs will be well taken care of. We had a house fire and arrived with VERY short notice with a very scared kitty,Timmy. We had no blanket or food for him - just his cat-carrier. They set him up with a kitty condo and a soft blanket and bought the food he usually eats. Timmy stayed for 10 day while we got temporary housing settled. The lovely couple that runs The Grateful Dog Boarding was so nice and took such good care of our pup! Our dog has never been boarded and we were supposed to have a family member watch her but something came up last minute so we called The Grateful Dog and they were able to fit her in even over Christmas holiday. They took really good care of her and even sent us a cute thank you postcard a few days after with our pups picture on it. So sweet! Really good rates too. read more

Grateful dog boarding is absolutely the best hands down. The owners and caretakers are genuinely friendly and kind people. Our dogs have been there many times. When our older dog passed into heaven then sent a heartfelt card. Unfortunately we have move out of state and we can not find another boarding place as good as grateful dog, so he stays with a relative when we leave. Best care EVER! Mike and Heather are such wonderful caregivers. This doggie hotel is not only affordable but the love and care they give is awesome. First, the kennels are roomy and dogs can stay inside or go outside as they desire. They also go out to the play yard twice per day, weather permitting. Mike and Heather adhere to most special requests without charging extra and your pets will never be exposed to other people's pets. One of my favorite things about TGD is their flexibility. Mike and Heather operate a top notch kennel. I have been taking my 3 Dalmatians to board with them for close to 10 years; they have never once failed to exceed my expectations. The dogs love to go and stay with them and I have never once worried about leaving them there. On several occasions at the last minute, Mike and Heather were able to accommodate the dogs which is truly a blessing. The kennel is clean, bright and airy and whether just overnight or for a longer stay, the dogs get to be dogs ! They are truly spoiled by "Uncle Mike and Aunt Heather" and in fact my male dog swears that he and "Uncle Mike" stay up at night and play poker. :-) I wouldn't trust anyone else to care for my dogs ! read more

I have always shied away from boarding my two cats and relied on friends. Their needs became such that I needed 24 hour care. Our 2 dogs were boarded for 5 days last week while we went on vacation. It was our first time boarding any of our pets so we were really anxious about it. When I had called a week or so prior, Heather was kind enough to rearrange the dogs to accommodate ours. This eliminated so much stress for us since it was all so last minute. She explained the process and mailed paperwork to expedite the check in process. When we arrived, both Heather and Mike greeted us in the lobby. They helped with the paperwork and bringing our dogs inside. They reassured us that everything would be great and we had nothing to worry about. Upon our return, we couldn't wait to see our dogs again. Everything was ready for pick up, Mike brought them out and our dogs were so happy to see us. He gave us a quick recap of their stay and sent us on our way. Today we received a post card with a picture of our dogs thanking us for our business! We are so impressed with their customer service, we highly recommend them. The prices were VERY affordable compared to other locations. Mike and Heather are the best! Because of their diligence, my Akita survived an episode of "blot" that can be fatal to a big dog. They payed attention to the subtle signs that she demonstrated in time for her to go to the Vet and have life-saving surgery. I knew how attentive they were to their clients but the the level of excellence in this situation was above and beyond as I was 3000 miles away on the east coast.
