It is just like any public pool. Locker rooms. Pay at the door. Life jackets to borrow! The water feels fantastic. We went for our son (who was 5 at the time), but he went down the big slide once and refused to again. But I went down it nearly half a dozen times and had THE TIME OF MY LIFE! I have NEVER went down a giant water slide - always too self-conscious as a kid. If you go, whoever you are, let yourself have fun! The fee for the pool was reasonable and also covers access to the hot tubs (one was down when we were there) and saunas. People of all ages were there. There are ring you can use to swing across the pool and a few slides: kid size, a very fast slide, and one that has many turns. We went in the winter time, so the outdoor section was closed. I suspect the place is a lot more fun in the summer. If you happen to stop by Hot Springs, it's an interesting place to check out. They had a AAA discount. Be sure to bring your own towels and swimsuits. I did have a minor issue with one of the lockers not working (took my quarters but wouldn't lock), but I was able to resolve it easily at the front desk.

The breakfast served is also really solid & hearty. My problem is with how things were and are communicated. My wife and I booked this place based on the advertising that said we could ride horses, our daughter is a rider and quite passionate about them. Upon arrival, Laura was unsure of what days we'd be riding. Keep in mind we asked about all this beforehand. Now, the days were hot in July so we figured we'd be riding either early in the morning or later in the evening. Fine. But she gave us no plan. I finally went back up to the house to nail down a time. We agreed to a morning ride the following day. Great! Nope. She later texted saying she had forgotten her husband had some meeting and if we could reschedule for that evening at 6. Cool. Nope. Something happened to the horses and she had to cancel. Ok. I get that. But then, she had some all day thing the next day and thereby effectively killing all options for riding as we were leaving the day after. My wife proceeded to ask for a partial refund as this was not what was discussed or advertised. Nope again. Her excuse this time? We hadn't signed up or paid for that. Cmon. Bad business and advertising. There were also guests arriving who were trying to reach her and couldn't and were quite frustrated with the lack of communication. So, great place in terms of scenery. But be forewarned of what is said & advertised because we did not get what we paid for by any means. Duly noted. We won't be back.

Breakfast was something different every day & served right on time. It was so relaxing to wake up & see the horses or to sit outside by the fire pit watching the horses, deer & sunset with Odie as company. Plus there's a hot tub to enjoy too. The accommodations were clean & perfect with a mini fridge & microwave in bunk house #1. I would definitely recommend staying here 100% & hope to visit again.

This is the opposite of that!!…read more This is no different than going to someone's ranch who lets you ride their horses around their land with them. 2 hours of awesomeness!! Wranglers with personalities, stories, jokes, and just fun to be around. They provided all the guidance necessary for those in our party with no experience, while allowing those with the freedom to control the horse. Beautiful scenery, varying terrain, and even the opportunity to trot the horses a little bit. There's nothing like it in the Black Hills. Hands down the favorite activity of the trip for every member of our party!! Oh yeah...they take pictures the whole time and send them to you for no charge on the spot when you're done!! Definitely on our to do list on our next trip out there.

There are a surprising number of weight machines, weights, elliptical, treadmill, spin bikes and other exercise equipment. Facility is well used but not crowded. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Various classes are offered. No problem if you don't have yoga pads, blocks, bands, etc as loaners are available at no extra charge. For travelers, there is a reasonable daily rate. For long term visitors, there is a monthly rate which can be put on-hold at a nominal charge during the months you are away from Custer. There is an off-sight pool located a few blocks away. Overall, this is an excellent facility and great value. Recommend and will return!

Such a rich historical site in geological formations; will leave you in awe. The cave is so big and such a mystery leaving you with so many questions that go unanswered. The guides give you a good explanation on how things formed and happened in the cave but it still makes you question the answers they give. The planet offers so much beauty and this cave is one of the beauties it offer. Stop by and experience the underground mystery at Jewel cave.
