I was initially helped by an optometrist for some preliminary screening before the doctor came in and she was great. Personable and kind. Then I met with Dr. Pingree who was able to diagnose the problem. He is very personable as well and easy on the eyes and I felt like I was well taken care of. Going back in 2 weeks for my clogged oil gland to be drained. It could have been a much worse problem. I really looked like hell.

I got LASIK yesterday afternoon. The level of information and care is incredible…read more I was a little nervous because of how blind I already was and those "what ifs" start creeping in about what if it gets worse or I end up completely blind instead of the already mostly blind. Everyone there makes you feel so at ease. Dr. Passi is awesome. You can tell he has the experience, knowledge to get what needs to happen done and forethought of everything you may ask, answered. One of my favorite things about Dr. Passi was his complete honesty, just enough fluff to make you comfortable but at the same time, made sure you understand what's going to happen, what needs to happen afterwards and realistically what to expect after treatment and that's ultimately what he's logically there for. The expertise in this area, and he more than knows his craft. Last night oof, he was right, I was wrecked but after following directions of medicated eye drops every 2 hours and wear the covers with the correct amount of ibuprofen- Tylenol ratio, I was totally fine this morning (I took melatonin too because it never hurts to want to not wake up constantly) I'm sure Hoopes is great BUT I also would say there's definitely not just a single place to go and don't rule this place out. I personally loved loved it.

Tried to charge us a cancellation fee for wasting her time. Before booking, I knew they were separate from Costco and I used their own website to confirm insurance, co-pays and all. This girl refused us and was completely wrong and so rude! Later when I yelled at the manager about her behavior he was defensive until he looked it up and confirmed that our date of birth and plan matched their own system and previous records to see we were correct and he apologized for her behavior. But this is beyond ridiculous to be treated the way she does every time. I'm stupid for returning hoping it would be a different person, but not anymore. He has lost our business and that of many other people by the looks of it just because of her behavior and lack of attempt to even look into the one single insurance they partner with to see we were covered there.

Dr. Howell immediately identified the issue and got to work correcting it, having had years of experience with children and this condition. My little boy thinks Dr. Howell is his best friend which is very telling because my son likes very few people, ha ha. Dr. Howell is patient, kind, and makes the exams fun with "games" and prizes at the end to the point that my little guy requests I make more appointments. Additionally it is obvious that Dr. Howell truly cares for his patients more than his payout. I trust 1000% that my expenses are fair and necessary- something I've questioned at other places. The staff is kind and skilled, I don't have to wait weeks and weeks for appointments-I just can't say enough good things about this office!

Turns out Dr Howell has training with migraine day head injuries and possible eye traits that can make that occur. He checked things no eye doctor ever had and told me because of my specific eyes I had been over prescribed and it lead to headaches. When I left there I finally had faith restored in at least one eye doctor! If eyes could breath a sigh of relief that's how my eyes felt. Also, NO headaches with my new prescription!!!! I was told something like $29, but I ended up being charged $172. One of the itemized charges was $69.00 for a prescription, which Dr. Martin said I didn't really need. It was for night driving, which is still a very minor issue, and the correction was optional. I should have been informed that just writing an optional prescription was $69!!!!

My family has been going there for years and our last pleasurable visit inspired us to tell others here in a review. All the staff there are warm, friendly and very knowledgable. The exams are always very thorough, the consultations are honest and clear, the service level from initial greeting to walking out with your perfectly adjusted new glasses is top notch.
