I bought 75 1x6x16 cedar T&G boards from Rocky Mountain Forest Product. I received a pallet of 71 pine boards and 4 cedar boards. I spoke with Riley Zelus, who sold me the boards, and he said he checked with his people onsite and confirmed that that they were in fact cedar. I had my contractors onsite with me (who have decades of experience in T&G install) and only until they got on the phone with him to tell him he was wrong did he try to rectify the situation - by offering me a bucket of stain. He did not offer to refund me for what I actually paid for. I am extremely disappointed with their quality control and the service I have received, particularly from Riley. As a female, I would find someone else to work with. They still have not refunded me for the over $1000 difference in price between the two materials. read more

I have had two (2) recent Orders from Rocky Mountain Forest Product in Wheat Ridge Colorado. The first order was on 3/16/2026 for $1,816.08 and the second order was on 4/6/2026 for a total of $356.73. The first order was discussed, ordered, and delivered with great customer service and response. The second order was an absolute nightmare largely due to: 1. Original invoice/quote dated 4/6/2026 specifically noted delivery as "Free" on the invoice/quote. a. This invoice/quote (noting "Free" delivery) was paid for on 4/6/2026. 2. After 3 weeks waiting for just 3 - 4x10x14 timbers, the "Sales-Rep" sent another invoice/quote requiring $100 as a delivery charge. This order was already paid for 21 days earlier which clearly notes "Free" delivery. 3. I ended up having to spend 2.5 hours and drive 92 miles to pick these items up from "will-call." In response to Taylor's comments, I purchased a few additional pieces that I needed to complete my fence from Lowes. There was much better lumber available than what I got from RMFP, and not only "rejected" pieces as Taylor suggests. In addition, any "rejected" piece is sold at a 70% discount, whereas RMFP sells it at full price to create a "equal & fair buying experience for the customers." Thanks for selling garbage wood at full price, that feels so fair. Buy your wood at Lowes or Home Depot, where you can select your own pieces. Here, they pull everything for you. During loading, I noticed that some piece were severely damaged, and they would not pull new wood even though I had purchased premium. I was told to go back in the store, do a return, and then come back out to exchange the wood. For standard wood, they said I had already purchased it, and I had no choice but to take whatever they pulled, no matter how bad it looks. You can also expect to spend over 2 hours waiting in line because they only have two skid loaders running. Almost every 4x4 post they sold was severely damaged and most of the 2x4s as well. I could not attach photos of the worst pieces because I had already covered them with pickets. read more

The quality of the product is very good. My order ended up being short 2 line posts and one line post was split very badly. I paid $225 to get the product delivered and I ended up having to go to their site to get the missing posts and getting a couple of more posts. The issue was, one; they ran out of stock. I asked multiple times to be notified when stock was replenished. I had to call and email multiple times. Then, when it finally was in stock (which I found out by calling (again!)). I asked them to hold back five posts, then when I got there, no one knew anything about my order and the salesman was at lunch and so was the supervisor. It took an add'l hour or so to finally get in contact with the sales rep to get the order taken care of. Once they had my money, there was little to no concern about how I was going to finish my project. Very poor customer support. read more

I had a bad experience and looking at the reviews here and at other sites, I guess the issues I had (poor quality lumber, poor communication/service) are not as unusual as I might have thought. It's funny how many reviews (even the good ones) mention issues with the delivery, poor quality, etc. The long sordid tale includes many back and forth emails and calls but the bottom line is that they delivered a substandard product and that was what started everything. I would think that if you deliver something poor quality, you take care of it...period. Good luck using these guys. I just look at the better business bureau website and complaints...I wish I had read those before I ordered!!! read more

Terrible! I've been no showed twice on deliveries. When they finally made it over, the order was wrong with missing and broken pieces. Called multiple times to get the issue solved with no success. Took about a week to have 64 redwood deck boards delivered, which was good given current circumstances. John Meitus helpful in arranging everything. All the boards arrived in good condition save one that was broken at the very bottom of the pallet. Will definately order from them again when we need to. The wood was beautiful. read more
