He told us about frozen lake, and even showed us the route on a map, which not many people know about or go to, and it ended up being one of our best hikes. One great item in the store is their 1$ trail patches. For every big lake, waterfall, or peak you climb, you can get a patch to remember it. They make great inexpensive souvenirs for hikers. They also have a wall of last minute hiking essentials like first aid and survival tools. All together an amazing place, would give it more stars if I could.

I happened to be in front of The Mountain Man Outdoor Store and one of the owners, John I believe he is called, brought me an elk jerky from his shop. So good! Even good enough to start my bum ticker a-tickin again. I immediately stood up and felt good enough to punch a trust-fund street urchin standing nearby (I didn't though.) What I did do was proceed immediately to the welcoming interior of the store, only to find an outdoor Nirvana, indoors. Somewhat greatful to owner John, I started to avail myself of the offerings- Shirts, jackets, flashy things, maps, snackages, socks, a knife (for cutting), stickers, postcards, a rope and everything I needed to begin my life anew in the nearby wood. You can do this too! The shopping thing I mean. Not the woods, or heart attack. Or maybe you could! I don't know! How did you find me??
