This seems like a family-run establishment that is a market and deli. They have a variety of dry goods, canned goods, jellies, jams, meats and cheeses. They also have a deli that cranks out sub sandwiches. The deli uses a paper-ordering system. Write your name and your selections (meat choice, dressings, lettuce, etc) and your name and they make to order. They are not skimpy on the meats and cheeses, which was nice. My bread, though, was dry so I ended up just eating the meat and cheese. On the day I visited they also were serving pulled pork sandwiches as a special. I like supporting non-chain restaurants. They have outdoor seating but none indoors. I guess you'll have to eat in your car during the winter or take your Sammie to go. read more

Awesome little Amish market and deli on the main drag in delta. We came in for sandwiches after being recommended by a friend. You go to the deli counter and fill out a paper, then they make your sandwich. The options are wide and the food is fresh. You can't beat the price for the quality and size of these sandwiches. It's not somewhere to hang around and eat but rather grab and go. A lot of great miscellaneous sundries and staples available for sale at reasonable prices. Everyone was friendly. just a heads up if your visiting during lunch (10-2) it'll take a decade to get your deli products. they put the sandwich orders in immediately and will ignore you until they finish them (even if the customers come in after you) it's an unfair system and why i sadly have to choose big lot stores since i can't really just sit around waiting for my products. read more

What a gem! Happen to be passing through the area on a road trip looking for a deli. Everything had terrible reviews other than this place. Thank you once again, Yelp reviewers. This place is an old world throwback. Not sure whether they are Amish, Mennonite, or whatever. The one thing I did find out is they are damn good at making sandwiches. This place is a cute mini grocery with imports from the Amish communities around the country. I kid you not, it's the real deal, I've actually been to the places they are bring this food in from in Ohio. On top on bringing in amazing food from their long lost brothers, they have a knack for making incredible deli subs. Super fresh products, and well made subs, but the bread was what set everything apart. I don't know what heavenly recipe they have been using, but Oh My Goodness gracious, the bread they use for subs is some of the best that has ever graced these lips. It almost had a croissant crust and a softness to it that's hard to describe. Angels sang when eating this bread. People inside were super nice and helpful. Do yourself a favor and stop in, grab a sub and whatever else you fancy. This is a throwback in time that can not be missed. They don't have a large supply but they have some items that I really appreciate. They carry dark rye, flour and the freshest eggs you're going to find unless you have your own hens. I have not tried any of their sandwiches, but it smells delicious. read more

Amazing sandwiches! I was told about this place and wish I would have gone sooner. It is a small shop that has a deli counter, wonderful cinnamon rolls and cookies, refrigerated section with butter, eggs, etc, and bulk prepackaged candy, flours and spices. The shop is very clean, service is excellent and everyone is extremely friendly. The sub sandwiches are to die for! They make their own sub rolls that are amazing! You won't get a Subway sandwich that is all bread and a little meat. No way! You will get a thick sub with a lot of meat! There is an option for double meat, but I can't imagine doubling what they already make! The bread is so light that it just makes the perfect sub sandwich. You can't beat this place for lunch! Less than $11 for a huge (12"x5") deli sub sandwich, made to order with fresh ingredients, bag of premium chips and can of soda or AZ Tea or bottle of water. The breads and cinnamon rolls looked amazing, the bulk candies and snacks came in wide variety and the canned goods made my mouth water. Everything in the store was attractively priced. The people running this store are doing an outstanding job in all aspects. First, extremely clean. Sandwiches. Fresh. Tasty. Great value. You go to the back, grab a menu paper and circle what items you want on your sammich. Two sizes as well. Hubby would've liked double meat which they offer for an up charge. It's clean food instead of a fast food burger. Good staple selections on the shelves and in the fridge section. This place is GREAT! Mennonite owned and operated means you get uncommonly courteous service, a very clean, orderly environment, and cheerful smiles every time. It's is the neatest little shop with the neatest stuff. I'm not sure just how to describe it, but they sell a wide array of candies, chocolates, dry and canned goods, and a pretty good selection of deli style meats and cheeses. Most of the products sold are brought in bulk, and repackaged at the store for resale. This allows them to bring you high quality goods at less-than-brand-name prices. You will find many unique items that you can find only in specialty shops, like birch beer, sarsaparilla, hot pickled okra, jalapeño eggs, or craft smoked Gouda. Perhaps the best thing the Rocky Mtn. Pantry has to offers is found at the deli counter: sandwiches. The Troyer brand meats and cheeses are excellent, and sliced upon ordering, the veggies are always very fresh, their bread is incredible, and the sandwiches are enormous. I can eat but half a 6", which runs only $5.50 with extra meat. Get a 12" with extra meat, and easily feed 4 people for less than $10.00. Where else can you do that? They're perfect to grab on the go, pick up for a picnic, or two people can eat right there. They are definitely worth a visit. read more

What a fantastic little store and deli! The outside is unassuming and easily missed, but they are well worth the visit. The deli counter at the back had the largest 12 inch sandwiches I have ever seen! You might be used to those other fast food chain's 12 inch sandwiches, but you'll be impressed how much good, high quality food you'll get for your money. The store itself is great and sells hard to find items at a fair prices. The cheeses are great and they have butter made from cream! Birch beer is available here too. We stopped in here on our way to Olathe for work. We had heard the sandwiches were delicious and that was not a lie! The bread was so light and wonderful and the meats, cheeses, and vegetables were so fresh! We really enjoyed our sandwiches as did the guys we were taking them too! I loved the bulk foods that were for sale as well. I love shopping that way and I think it's great that they offer that here because it can be very difficult to find in smaller towns. I tried this place for lunch based on the 5 star reviews and was skeptical but pleasantly surprised. The fresh bread was like home made, and the sandwich very reasonably priced with ample meat and cheese with condiments to order. The store is on the outskirts of town so could easily be missed, but worth the effort to find. Also seating is extremely limited as it seems to do more retail business than lunch counter business. One of their large sandwiches will give you 2 lunches and beats Skunkway by a country mile! Nine bucks is a small price to pay for two meals in 2013. I ordered a 12" and figured it would be like any other, no way -- there was a LOT of meat and cheese on it and the bread was so fantastic. It lasted me three days and I eat a lot. Awesome place. Many fun homemade items from jams to pickles. A friend had told us we need to stop in next time we were in town. They have spices and anything you could need to bake. They have a sandwich counter. We each ordered a six inch. 4.99..the sandwich was wonderful and huge. Fresh bread and fresh meats and cheeses. As we drive from Grand Junction to Montrose at least twice a month this will become a regular stop. read more
