The Project Manager, Doug Henderson, was personable, professional and extremely helpful. He was always available to answer my questions and did great follow-up with the city inspector. He went above and beyond coordinating everything with the solar folks who had to remove the panels before the roof replacement and reinstall them afterwards. Doug communicated effectively through out the entire project. Doug also provided all the necessary documentation after completion which got me a reimbursement from our insurance company. We encountered issues with roof leaks within 6 months of moving in. Contacted these folks to see what the warranty covered, what it didn't, and wanted them to come see what we needed. Took weeks to get them out, they lied about mailing us a copy of the warranty, finally did come out, fixed something, didn't say a word to us and left. I followed up to see what needed to be done, crickets. Finally had another company come look at- he told us there were super recent repairs. Expert Exteriors then gaslit me and my husband about what happened, saying the tech (the owner I think?) spoke to my husband before he left, when he absolutely didn't. We currently, 3 years later, still have issues we've been trying to get them to come fix to no avail. Our roof leaks in several places. We probably have mold at this point. We can't get them to honor the warranty, or even just come take a look. But we also can't have another company come look and fix it... without voiding the warranty. No idea what we ever did to make them so hostile, but they did shoddy work and won't stand by it and their "warranty" means nothing - at least to us.

The crew nailed the shingles far too low, which compromises the integrity of the roof and can significantly shorten its lifespan. Proper nail placement is basic roofing knowledge, so this was extremely concerning. In addition, they reused materials that should have been replaced, which raises further questions about their standards and attention to detail. We had AVI come out 3 separate times and all 3 times they kept stating the issues was NOT theirs but would not give us a straight answer on the real issues until we had to hire another roofing company to repair their work. To add insult to injury , AVI charged us each time they came out ($500). Quality installation is just as important as quality materials, and unfortunately, that standard was not met. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this company carefully inspect the work and ask detailed questions before signing off on a project. *** 3/3/26 response to AVI about my review*** We purchased our home in December, and the roof was installed in October -- just two months before we took ownership. Within three months of living in the home, the shingles began lifting and coming off. That is not normal wear and tear, and it certainly raises concerns about workmanship. Regarding not being able to find our name -- that may be because we purchased the property after the roof was installed. The work would likely be listed under the previous homeowner's name, not ours. I would encourage you to review your October installations at that address rather than searching only by our name. Both my husband and myself have spoken to your company several times and had 4 different people on separate occasions come to our home. Not once did you mention the error with nailing the roof even though pictures show this poor workmanship. Mathew and his team has replaced the the roof on my primary residence in South Park Hill as well as that of a rental property we own in North Park Hill. Our historic property in South Park Hill included the primary house roof, as well as our 920 square foot carriage house roof. The North PH house is a historic single story bungalow. Despite the presence of older, prexisting damage to the roofing, Mathew was able to negotiate with our claims adjuster for a comprehensive and thorough roof repair for all three roofs. Mathew walked with the adjuster and showed him all the roof damage (both the old and new). He was able to skillfully bolster the argument for approval of total roof replacement, but he also advocated for other necessary upgrades, including new decking, a high quality synthetic underlayment, and importantly, the Class 4 Impact Resistant Shingles, at no additional cost. The main roof on the South PH property had complex framing with hips, valleys, and dormers, as well numerous penetrations, and multiple chimneys. These required exact and intricate cuts to align everything properly. The total roof tear-off and replacement exposed a number of hidden issues with framing, decking, and water damage. All existing issues were addressed and repaired with attention to current codes and skilled craftmanship.
