I just had a new cement tile roof installed last week. I had a great experience with Jenesis roofing and the owner, JP, as well as all of the installers. With a project of this size, I had 9 roofing companies out to give me bids. Not only was Jenesis the lowest bid by about $7000, they gave me a beautiful, gorgeous new roof with top quality tiles and an excellent warranty. We got hit again by the hail this year and I had the insurance adjuster come out and inspect the roof for damage. He confirmed that there was damage and the roof would need to be replaced. He also said that whoever applied the last roof did a fantastic job and we should hire them again if we could. Jenesis did the roof back in 2018. Never had my roof looked at from the hail storms but realized I had a small leak posted my project on Yelp, JP from Jenesis Roofing was one of the first people to reach out told me he would call me as soon as he got into the office which he did. I already had an estimate from my insurance company. We went over a few details and within the next two hours he sent someone from his company to inspect my roof. I had some questions about what I needed to do as far as my insurance and my deductible and JP was so helpful and really helped me understand the process. Signed on the dotted line and JP communicated next steps with me from the delivery of supplies to the delivery of the rolloff. They started working early Saturday morning and the job was complete before 1 PM. Great crew. They even cleaned up a few branches and leaves that were in the yard. JP even threw in some extras! I can't say enough good things about these guys. I contacted them because we are concerned about EPDM roofing installed on our new build and sloping of the newly installed roof, among other things. I sent them a message on Saturday, and I got a call about 30 minutes later from JP. At first they could schedule us for Monday (next business day) but when they realized they were going to be in our area that day, JP just swung by that same day. I told JP up front that I may not need any services, but I was hoping for an inspection and some advice, and that we may be able to start a relationship for future jobs. That didn't stop him, and instead he gave me over an hour of his time on a SATURDAY without taking any payment. Such a nice guy, and based on our conversations, clearly tons of knowledge (been doing it over 20 years). Super generous with his time even though he knew he likely wouldn't get anything out of it. I went with Jenesis after the recent hailstorm because of all the positive reviews here. After some initial confusion and delay around the required building permits, the workers sent by Jenesis came out and replaced our roof and gutters. This work appears to be well done, although a couple of the corners on the new gutters are a little ragged. I followed up with the company after the workers left to inform them that ladders had been left up on the house for a couple days following the work, that there was a pile of trash from the gutter work in the yard, and that the skylight work was left partly incomplete. The ladders were removed quickly, but as I am writing this two weeks later the pile of trash is still in my yard and the skylight work remains incomplete. Despite two followup calls to Jenesis in the two weeks after the new roof was on, they have informed me that they are very busy with other post-hailstorm work and don't know when they will get back to finish the job at my house. While I understand that finding a few nails, screws, shingle pieces, etc. in my yard may be unavoidable, I was very surprised by the extent to which the job at my house was left unfinished. The many positive reviews here suggest that Jenesis usually does a great job, so it's not clear what happened in this case. Most of the work was done well, but the failure to finish the job that was promised is disappointing. read more

After talking with several other companies, we chose Jenesis because I didn't feel like I was being talked to by a used car salesmen. Duane was genuine and honest. I knew we were in good hands. Duane showed his professionalism and full support for us when I woke up one morning to the sound of people on our roof working... but they were not from Jenesis! Duane walked me through how to talk to the crew who were at the wrong house, then personally worked with the other roofing company to make sure our home was protected from damage (they had already pulled up about 1/3 of our shingles). Duane was then able to expedite our roofing project so we could be fully protected. Duane oversees every step of the process from the estimate to the insurance claim to personally seeing his crew get started the day of the project. He also came back to ensure the gutters were installed properly. He has always been available to answer questions and help us through the process when needed. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! Keep looking. Interstate Roofing will be the company I work with in the future. It took over SEVEN MONTHS to receive my final inspection. Jenesis dropped the ball every step of the way, they neglected to submit the paperwork to the city, then after correcting that, on the day of the inspection they failed again. I was waiting for the city inspector to come by, it was on my calendar, and he asked, "where's my ladder?" I had no idea. It's up to the roofing company to put up a ladder on the day of inspection. When I emailed Jenesis, they tried to blame it on the city. Although, I had it in my calendar, why didn't then? My permit was posted to my front door for the full seven months. Incredibly unprofessional every step of the way. Not to mention, they attempted to over charge me almost $1,200 dollars, until I caught it. Then the incompetence showed up even in the emails. On a group email, the owner "replied all" when was talking about me, the client! Extremely disappointed with the service and the run around. Keep looking. read more

Was having some water penetration around the exhaust fans in two of my bathrooms and submitted a request for a quote through Yelp. Felipe was great to work with and very professional. When he came out to do the quote he needed to look inside the house at the two fans having the issue and brought shoe covers (other places weren't as thoughtful). He got back to me very quickly with a reasonable quote. Ended up needing to have the roof vents replaced as they were an older style that could allow water to enter. I had to wait a few weeks before scheduling the work due to a series of snow storms. The work that was completed was very thorough. UPDATE: I received a customer service call from the original owner, Jenni, who was very professional and understanding. She promptly sent me a check to fully cover the costs of the repairs, which we very much appreciated. BEWARE! Jenesis replaced our roof in Louisville after the hailstorm in June and everything seemed fine. In November, our tenants who occupy the house noticed that the furnace was not operating properly and they were experiencing health issues. Fast forward, past the diagnostic visits from HVAC technicians - the Jenesis crew had damaged the roof cap for the furnace and as a result, the furnace was not ventilating properly. Hazardous levels of carbon monoxide were in the home so we shut off the furnace immediately and our tenants went without heat when it was in the 30s outside. Jenesis sent someone to repair the damage, but then made no attempt to assist with rectifying the situation with the furnace. The repairs to our 2-year old furnace was $1400 and repairs to the water heater, also compromised by the buildup of heat and moisture, was $285. By the way, our tenants went without hot water in December for a week. We only requested that Jenesis reimburse us for the repairs, with no recompense for our tenants. I feel compelled to write a review of Jenesis because Yelp is how I found them. When my insurance company decided that replacing my roof was just not their "thing" (yes, American Family, you suck) despite all my neighbors insurance companies doing it I started the process of finding companies and getting bids. My criteria was simple, they must have 4-star or better reviews on Yelp, in good standing with BBB and Google/Yahoo reviews that were close to the Yelp reviews. From that I found 14 roofing companies, so I contacted each of them for a quote. First off Jenesis was the lowest bidder initially, which pleased me. The more I dug into the quote the more I realized that it was offering a quality product. I learned a lot about roofing and materials in my process, and I can say the this company uses the good stuff. Once I added gutters to my project and a few other odds and ends with roof venting they ended up being the 3rd lowest bidder but not the lowest. I went with them because I think Jenny was very attentive to my needs and that what they were offering was well worth the price they were asking. Would I like to have spent $5K less, sure, but short of that I couldn't have asked for a better choice. In the end I was right, the roof looks great! They didn't clean up quite as well as they advertise that they do, as I'm still finding roofing nails all over my gardens and yard, the roof itself looks good. read more

WOW. Whether it's hail damage or just routine work, I just don't think you can do better than Jenesis Roofing. In the case of our house, it was hail damage, AND routine work, all of which should have been done YEARS ago. And it was a complicated situation... we were selling the house, and the buyers had VERY particular demands on how the roof work needed to be done (and what kind of documentation had to be shown at EVERY step of the project) in order to close the deal. Not only did Jenesis Roofing deliver... they hit a home run. They communicated brilliantly and patiently with us, with the buyers, and with BOTH realtors, multiple times, and stayed on point until the job was done and the real estate deal was closed. Two of them went out and sent me a quote and Mike @ Jenesis said the only way he can give me a quote is by looking at my scope from my insurance company before he would even go out. I selected Jenesis based on their excellent Yelp reviews, however thus far the experience has been terrible. I left them a message about 2 months ago after they didn't answer the phone during business hours. Then I called again about a week later (1.75 months ago). The lady that answered said "oh yeah I was meaning to call you back one of these days". I scheduled an estimate appointment and she said the estimator would contact me in 2-3 weeks. It's been a few months now and I haven't heard a thing. This is not how a 5-star business operates. I understand they may be busy due to this years hail storms. Hats off to Ray DeLarber with Jenesis Roofing. Ray was professional, honest and on time from beginning to end. No doubt he not only cared about our roof, but our home and yard. Made sure everything was left as he found it. We have quite a bit of flower pots and he took special care to make sure nothing was damaged. He takes pride in his work and treated his employees with respect that were working on our home. It is obvious they respect him as well. When it was all said and done we only found 1 roofing nail, clean up was amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend Ray De Larber for any roofing job. My original review was 1 star because it took over 8 weeks to get someone out to fix the leak that should have been covered under warranty. Jenesis originally replaced my roof after the bad hail storm in 2017. One of the skylights that was repaired recently started leaking (according to the guys here today it was not fixed right the first time). My paperwork states that workmanship is warranted for 5 years so this should have been easy. Didnt have any luck with the office staff when I first started calling. When I did talk to someone they seemed clueless and told me I'd get a call back, which I never got. I kept calling and emailing and finally got in touch with JP, who said they'd get it fixed. After 8 weeks of no movement I finally left a review on Yelp and figured I'd get someone else to fix it. Within an hour of leaving that review JP was on the phone getting me scheduled. Within a week (once the weather settled down) they came and fixed the sun tunnel. The guys that were here were nice and it seems like they did a good job. JP is genuinely concerned about the company image and even came by after the repairs to make sure everything was good and to thank me for my patience. Sounds like he had an employee that gave him bad information which led to the delay, and it seemed genuine, but I guess I'll never know. Communication could have been much better, especially with the office staff from the beginning. After the hard rain this weekend it looks like the repair was done right. read more

I just used Jenesis Roofing to replace my old wood shake shingles. Jim helped me select a GAF Grand Sequois Impact resistant shingle. It looks great, meets with approval from my HOA and will save me $600 a year on insurance. The crew worked quickly, used a truck instead of a dumpster and cleaned up well afterward.
