When I arrived at the location on Franklin, can't miss it, Michael who was managing the front desk area was personable and genuine. He was dressed professionally and we joked about my last name especially since it was the same as the day that I was picking up. He went through all the details and I what I liked the most was highlighting all the important details like the QR code for roadside assistance, how much to fill up for gas and when to return it. I got the keys and matched the ID number on the keys to the back of the truck. It was very cleaned and the A/C worked like a Polar Bear's dream. We got a couple of bins Friday night and then the bulk of the moving the following day. We closed out the storage space at the space facility, dropped off the rest of the bins, put some gas in the truck and retuned back to the facility. The team upon the return were efficient and genuine. I was shown what the total was going to be and was immediately emailed with a receipt. Overall, the experience was great, hassle free and fair-priced. Thanks U-Haul Team.

When I booked my installation app on the 28th for the 30 at the Overland location, all was good…read moreuntil the 30th around 1012 I missed a call saying it was double booked. It took 3 or 4 calls to get the same person at the U-Haul location on the phone. I opted to get it done at a different (1030 W Franklin) location. I was told I'd be transferred and then hung up on. I had to call back to get details. I called to make sure and was told i could show up at 11 or 1130 if wanted. I show up at 1145, but the installer is at lunch. He didn't bring my vehicle into work on it until 1220. The staff was very friendly, and I was even given a discount for the weight and the issues. For some reason, they only have one installer and he didn't seem to care that he went to lunch and didn't tell anyone anything and just didn't show up until I'm guessing someone contacted him. I appreciate everyone at the Overland U-Haul except for the dude that's apparently the only one that does installs and I'll definitely be the last time that I go that route. Quite beyond not worth it. Also, he zip tied the wiring closest to the connector onto my tow hitch, so there's absolutely no room to pull the connector anywhere so now I have to look under and see how much slack there is if any and cut the zip tie so that there's at least some give. This dude has apparently been doing installs for like 25 years yet he zip ties the wiring so that the connector is basically touching the tow hitch. The only way I could be less happy with the outcome of this is if the installation didn't happen and I had to reschedule again. Again, Amanda, Abigale and Damien and the other gentleman that works there were awesome. Just not the installer. I really hope that he either get spoken to or reprimanded or even fired so that nothing like this happens to someone else.

This place is substandard aka garbage. My son came in this morning to pick up a car Doly, I flew in…read morethis afternoon to help him finish his move to another state. After he was all packed and I was helping him load the car I looked at the dolly I noticed that there was a ratchet for the wheel strap missing for one of the tires we had no choice because we had to leave the area so we brought the U-Haul with the car and tow only wretched it to one side (very dangerous I might add) I brought this to his attention the assistant manager I don't know his name not and I'm not judging him by this, but he has a piercing on his lip, gave me attitude and said that I have to call roadside assistance, even though I'm sitting in the parking lot of the U-Haul itself. He said that this Doly was sent out with a ratchet, even though he couldn't prove it because they didn't take photos. He insisted that there was a ratchet on here which there was no way in hell because the bolt is wrenched in there at an angle so tight that even if my son and I did see somebody trying to mess with it, there's no way they could've got it off let alone got it off in time. I wondered why he couldn't pull one off another trailer to which gave me a half assed excuse that he will not modify a trailer in his lot and please leave the premises i.e. the building because he was closed, even though the door was still open. He Also reiterated that the only people that can take care of it is roadside assistance now upon speaking to roadside assistance I explained to him the predicament and he said he does not understand because he's gonna do exactly what I asked, the assistant manager to do and pull off a ratchet from a dolly that's sitting here in the lot and he will speak to the manager about this. I don't know what the deal is with the assistant manager, but he had no customer service etiquette. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB about this. **UPDATE***** which is funny because I literally wrote this review five seconds ago but update the assistant manager started yelling at me and threatened to call the cops on me because roadside assistance was putting a new ratchet on my dolly and telling me not to get belligerent even though he was the one yelling at me then he commenced to yell at roadside assistance personnel till he realized he was roadside assistance. Wow if I don't know what screams lose your job and this doesn't and I don't know what's right anymore because he literally does not care about the safety of someone who has one of their pieces of equipment and in fact that belligerent himself when I was doing nothing but sitting here on my phone. If you get BLDG H, then just know that the H must be for "Historic Site"; there are no services. There _was_ an elevator or a dumb waiter once upon a time, not sure. It's been boarded over. Anything you want to put on the second floor is only what you can carry up a flight of stairs with no landing that is pitched steeper than 45 degrees. Furniture? Not likely. The room is not a cubical shape either. It's a Trapezoid (see "rafters" above). There are Zero lights inside the room, so you'll need to bring your own. From the "Historic" theme, it might be appropriate to bring Coal Oil Lanterns or something the British Imperialists might have called a "Torch". Also, it's Rafters with exposed beams. I'm not actually sure what happened when we moved in, because i struck my head (in the dark) on exposed beams so many times that it might have all been some horrible farcical dream i had. My recommendations: after you complete the rental and pre-pay agreements, and sign on the dotted line, check where your room will be. If it's BLDG H on the 2nd floor, cancel the contract immediately. Go with the Climate Control storage if available; even at 50% more price-wise, you'll get an elevator and you won't hit your head so much. My next recommendation: try again somewhere else, where "2nd floor" isn't mentioned anywhere on the site. Return the truck at a uhaul place, and store literally anywhere else. I stopped into this location for some moving supplies and was helped by the manager Ray. When he asked if we had scheduled to pick up a truck at his store yet, he smiled as soon as I said I was going with another company. He started asking for details and typing them into his computer and was able to come up with a much better price along with much better equipment. And easily convinced me to switch reservations. He was super helpful and explained all of the insurances and features of the truck and gave us tips on how to make the move smoother. Needless to say, I was ecstatic and much less stressed about the move. Fastforward a week, and he called to confirm my reservation and let me know he had a brand new truck with new tires waiting for me to pick up. I have never experiences such amazing customer service.
