We agreed with everything he said, trusting him as a professional. He finished the treatment according to his timeline and gave my son a retainer to use for awhile. A month or two later we were on a trip and my son broke his retainer. Although we were overseas we immediately went to a dentist to have the retainer fixed. The dentist fixed the retainer for free and told us to go back to our doctor and tell him the treatment is not complete yet! Confused and upset we went back to Dr. Suzuki and told him the story. First he got very defensive and started looking at the chart to tell us how many times we had visited his office and how much we had paid for the visits, and finally when we reminded him that we had paid whatever he had asked for, for as many visits he had wanted, and when we insisted on getting an answer he said "well, this was not a comprehensive treatment"!!! Now, few years later, my son is back in treatment with another orthodontist, and this time I learned to ask for a "comprehensive" treatment. I suggest you use this word when you deal with Dr. Suzuki, or you will have to pay for two orthodontic treatments...
