A wonderful place in the fall! (And summer!) they have a great selection of apples, but get there early in the season or it's all picked out. The orchard is PERFECT for fall photos, as the vista is gorgeous. They even give you a little wooden commemorative coin each year, to collect. Aside from apples, they have a large field that's full of pumpkins to buy. Plus gourds, mums, decorative corn. They have a whole cafe inside with yummy food for breakfast and lunch. this is such an adorable apple farm! there was a pumpkin patch outside with little carts and baby pumpkins in crates as well. the fresh apple cider ($10/jug) was sooo good, it was a perfect balance of sweet and tart. the apple cider donuts were so light & airy, but the pumpkin & molasses donuts were more dense. the staff also gave us a free donut since they were closing soon :") read more

Great spot for pumpkin "picking"!! This is a very local orchard- it doesn't have the huge crowds that some of the others do. That's what I love about this place! There's a whole bunch of families and some family friendly activities as well as plenty of gourds and pumpkins (in the fall of course) They have a super yummy farm shack as well! I think this one has been my favorite apple orchard. It's simple, there's no crazy rides or any "fluff". Just tons of pumpkins, corn, and a beautiful orchard. They had many, many apple varieties and we went towards the end of September so lots of varieties to choose from. They were all very delicious! It was $1.50 a pound for the apples and $2.50 for honeycrisp apples. Cash preferred but they do take card. Their farm market had some good specialty items and a good selection of baked goods to choose from, but as with any apple orchard visit, we get the donuts. I don't think I've ever had a bad apple cider donut but these were great. If you were to ask me how they compare to other farms, I'm not sure my tastebuds are good enough to tell... I also only go apple picking once a year, but this was probably my favorite experience. read more

My family and I have been annual visitors to Rocky Ridge Orchard for well over a decade. We always go in October for a family day of picking out our pumpkins for Halloween. There is so much to do here- apple picking, leaf peeping, cider sipping! In the past, we also enjoyed lunch, but the grill was closed on weekends due to the busy orchard this year. There is also a small gift shop and bakery full of delicious treats. The place is family owned and operated. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. read more

Such an amazing experience! Families and friends of all ages can be seen walking in the orchard and stopping by the bakery. Everyone wore masks, and the orchard is big enough that maintaining 6+ feet apart is easy. The apples in season right now (the ones that we mainly picked) are McIntosh and Honeycrisp. All apples are $1.25/lb, and Honeycrisp are just a bit pricier (but well worth). They provide you with paper bags and wagons, if you don't want to lug around a heavy bag of apples (or if a tiny kid doesn't want to walk lol). For any high reach places, ladders are available sporadically. The Apple cider donuts from the bakery were fantastic, and they have a half dozen order limit. The ones we ordered were still warm and were everything we expected -- soft, with the perfect amount of spice and sugar. We went apple picking with our family here and bought some pastries while we were there. We bought raspberry and lemon turn overs and a creme horn. These were the BEST pastries we have ever had. They were light and flaky and crispy. My husband just had a turn over the day after we purchased them. This small business is well worth the trip. Very disappointed. First time apple picking in Maine while on vacation. The amount of scabs and black spots on the Macs and other apples made it so we only picked some honey crisps. Really need to do something about this. Many people we encounter in the orchard felt the sane way. read more

Given our temporary lodging proximities and positive reviews, I wanted to stop by and try this place. Food was good, especially for the price. I had a quiche and chowder. The quiche was $3, homemade, and a bit small, but fine. The chowder had nice chunks of meat and came with two packages of oyster crackers. My dining companion had a sandwich. No frills, just a bun with ham, tomato, and lettuce. We also had a pumpkin flavored whoopie pie, which was incredible. Service made me feel like we weren't particularly welcomed. No pleasantries and I felt like the cashier/waitress wanted to keep more than a cool distance from us. That said, another guy, who I think was working the kitchen, came out and made a general comment about the weather. The orchard has a patio adjacent to the store which offers covered seating. They have at least one birdfeeder that attracted beautiful hummingbirds. I would consider returning because I thought the bakery items were diverse. Given how great the whoopie pie was, I'd want to try other items. read more

My family comes here every year to pick apples, choose our pumpkins and purchase cider. The product is fantastic and the people are super friendly. It is a fabulous experience and one that we look forward to every year. That being said, there is one criticism that is almost worth taking a "star" away..... PLEASE figure out a way to make more apple cider donuts!!!! Seriously, the donuts are amazing but they CONSTANTLY run out of them!!! Year after year we stand in line waiting to get these donuts only to find out they do not have anymore. It is almost ridiculous how hard it is to get these donuts! Nevertheless, we love this place and will always keep coming back hoping we are in line when the donuts come out!! read more

Good heavens. I went here twice while I was home. This place is simply amazing. For dinner, I had a steak and cheese, with peppers and onions and mayo. It's, honestly, in my top 3 for best steak and cheeses out there. They don't chop the steak into tiny bits and then throw one puny slice of cheese on there. They LOAD it with onions, peppers, and so much cheese that the bun simply isn't able to contain it all. I had to provide a picture of it. (See pictures) And their strawberry turnover pastry thing with the cream filling... I can't describe it. You just HAVE to go to Rocky Ridge Orchard. We were searching for a place to do some apple picking and has fresh apple cider donuts within a reasonable driving distance to Portland, and we ended up here! Rocky Ridge Orchard has a good selection of apples. We went early October and the trees still had plenty of apples available. (Some places get picked clean fast) I Personally would recommend the honey crisp apples! Even though they cost a little bit more than the other varieties, they were worth it. The bakery crowd / line was pretty long! We just wanted some fresh donuts, but they sold out of the pumpkin. We ended buying the 2 varieties available - the apple cider donuts and chocolate. Sadly, the donuts were a little disappointing! They weren't melt-in-your mouth, the apple cider donuts were rather bland, and the chocolate was unmemorable. The bakery also sells some good looking pies - including apple pie, blueberry pie. Apple turnover, apple crumble. Coffee. However, NO hot apple cider!!! They did have cold, refridgerated cider though. There's also a decent pumpkin selection and a "haunted room". Good for the kids! read more

Wonderful apple picking and Fall activities. Right on 201 near Brunswick. Pumpkins galore with a farm stand with pastries and cider donuts. Apple cider that is hand made that is delicious. We've been in Maine for a few days and this sits in our highlights. We visited on a Tuesday and there were only a few visitors although we were informed that the weekend brought a very large crowd. We started by picking apples by the pound in the orchard, which were crisp and delicious. We then grabbed lunch at the counter; The chicken pesto sandwich was fantastic. The staff was courteous and seemed to know a few of the locals that also visited while we were there. read more
