They had me at Baked Good :) Well, there was another thing that peaked my interest that even got me to pay attention to the lawn signs, the apples - I picked up a bag of their apples at Bow Street Market and was blown away by the quality and I had never tried Red Gravenstein before. It's a delicious snacking apple. This apple is just slightly tart and a medium tenderness, not too crisp or too soft. It is just the right size, that I have never throw away anything but the seeds and stem. I think they had a least a half dozen varieties of apples. The staff will happily recommend types to you as well, depending on what you want to do with them. They will also share their personal opinion if you ask. Not just apples...I didn't have time to look around too much, BUT, I did see....apple cider donuts, that were FRESH ....still warm! They were soft with a slightly crisp exterior. Soooo good. We bought 6! They also have a cooler with pub cheese! If you didn't know, cheese and apples actually are a tasty combo. There is also a table near the register that displays locally made whoopie pies - the traditional Maine variety. More YUMMY! I highly recommend this cute location.

I always run to his booth first - Cinnamon Rolls, Scones, Jams, Babka- You can also order special things in advance of the market - check out his website. Parking can be a challenge as it is shared with the town, police and nearby sports fields. Luckily people don't tend to hang out too long because the market isn't too big. Most vendors accept credit cards.

Every vendor we walked by, said hello and seemed warm and friendly. The area was set up near the main walkway, which was nice - very tidy and organized. There were a lot of different patrons, young and old and everyone seemed so happy and engaged with the vendors. I can't believe it's taken me YEARS to finally visit. I will definitely return, if I can get out of work in time. That's the only downside, they are only set up until 6pm on Thursdays.

They are hearty. The couple that owns and runs this business are down to earth and authentic. I loved listening to them work together, it made me laugh when they had a disagreement, she apologized when I went to pick up and pay for my order. This deli has to be the penalty box for Bow St workers because they all act like they're in a cage waiting to be let out and want absolutely NOTHING to do with patrons. They'll literally let meat roll off the slicer into a bag that ultimately falls apart when trying to remove a slice. Today, I got home to find a half pound of turkey ends. They seemed to be doing very well, so I just kept a close eye and watched them build and grow their business to meet the customer needs for local meat and vegetables....and as of the last year or so they have added so many ready made meals, and baked goods and desserts!!! I have been back twice in the past month or so and each time have stocked up on treats for special occassions. We loved the Quiche - very high quality and the taste was buttery and cheesey and eggey - LOVE! I have tried and thoroughly enjoyed their house made, english muffins, muffins, cookies, brownies and fruit bread slices. So so good. They accept cash and credit. They have a great staff/team of workers...they are friendly, and fun. The cat Darla - she was a hit with everyone that was with me...she is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy...don't pet her too long, she will hit you with her little mitten paws.
