We also bought an apple cider donut and an apple hand pie. Both were so good! We were staying in downtown Portland and drove out towards Freeport to check out a few things, which is when we swung by here. It's worth driving out of your way for if you like apples and apple treats!

Location, Parking, Staff, Product…read more I have been driving by this shop for about 2 years and never stopped, because I thought where I was going was the best...well, I was missing out. Primarily, because it was closer to me vs. the 1.5 I was driving....and the Staff! Sooo nice Here is what actually got me to stop, the LAWN SIGNS, a row of them telling me what they have. They had me at Baked Good :) Well, there was another thing that peaked my interest that even got me to pay attention to the lawn signs, the apples - I picked up a bag of their apples at Bow Street Market and was blown away by the quality and I had never tried Red Gravenstein before. It's a delicious snacking apple. This apple is just slightly tart and a medium tenderness, not too crisp or too soft. It is just the right size, that I have never throw away anything but the seeds and stem. I think they had a least a half dozen varieties of apples. The staff will happily recommend types to you as well, depending on what you want to do with them. They will also share their personal opinion if you ask. Not just apples...I didn't have time to look around too much, BUT, I did see....apple cider donuts, that were FRESH ....still warm! They were soft with a slightly crisp exterior. Soooo good. We bought 6! They also have a cooler with pub cheese! If you didn't know, cheese and apples actually are a tasty combo. There is also a table near the register that displays locally made whoopie pies - the traditional Maine variety. More YUMMY! I highly recommend this cute location.

I decided to stop in and order take out. There were a lot of call-in tickets ahead of me and a few tables already waiting for their orders. She let me know it would be about 30 minutes. No problem. I was able to look over everything while waiting before settling into a very comfy leather chair right next to the door. Great vantage point to see all of the amazing treats they sell. They have donuts, scones, muffins, turnovers and dozens of fudge flavors!! I ordered a couple of donuts to go along with a blueberry turnover. SO GOOD!!! The donuts were perfectly fluffy and sweet and the turnover, flakey fruity and perfect! Great - fresh made to order breakfast sandwiches on a biscuit. They are satisfying - so tasty and filling! They are hearty. The couple that owns and runs this business are down to earth and authentic. I loved listening to them work together, it made me laugh when they had a disagreement, she apologized when I went to pick up and pay for my order. I told her, no need, it was like I was at a family home with real people having real conversations. I highly recommend this business and I look forward to using up the rest of my gift card and once that is done, I will be back for more yummy food.

The selection of homemade fudge is truly the broadest I've seen anywhere. They offer a both traditional flavors, and interesting more unique flavors as well. Check out the photos. They also have a refrigerator sections with slices of pies, macaroons, and other treats all packed and ready to go. The service is very friendly, and it feels like you're stepping into a neighborhood shop where everyone knows each other...very welcoming vibe. The day me and my family stopped in, we were hungry for breakfast. We tried the pumpkin spice crumble muffin, the bacon/egg/cheddar on a croissant sandwich, and a cinnamon maple something pastry. All of it was DELICIOUS! All very fresh and made with love. The breakfast sandwich was one of the best I've had...the bacon and cheese was high quality, and the flavors blended so beautifully. There are a few things tables, and a couple of comfy chairs for eating in. We will definitely go back.

It was great - the woman from the distributor was perfect. What made it extra memorable was a calligrapher who added messages to each bottle purchased. This rating is specific to the Deli which I've NEVER had a good experience with. Only reason we…read morereturn is for Boars Head meats which can't be found anywhere else. For starters, they won't permit you to pre-order over the phone and direct you to the app, which also die NOT have an option to order deli meats. When you arrive at the deli, there are typically 4-6 employees standing behind the counter and not one of them will bother to acknowledge your presence. Certainly never any niceties. Instead, you'll find them shooting the shit tucked in the corner snacking on deli meats and cheeses. After multiple minutes waiting, One will come and ask if you've been helped because it's not obvious enough that I'm standing there alone, staring at them and no one has lifted a finger. This deli has to be the penalty box for Bow St workers because they all act like they're in a cage waiting to be let out and want absolutely NOTHING to do with patrons. They'll literally let meat roll off the slicer into a bag that ultimately falls apart when trying to remove a slice. Today, I got home to find a half pound of turkey ends. These guys clearly intentionally try to ruin days. Owners, PAY ATTENTION. This is on YOU.

I feel bad...I feed bad it has taken me so long to shop at this lovely local market!!!…read more I have been a faithful social media follower, particularly during the pandemic years, I was curious to see how local businesses were evolving and keeping an eye on any that might need extra support during the difficult times. They seemed to be doing very well, so I just kept a close eye and watched them build and grow their business to meet the customer needs for local meat and vegetables....and as of the last year or so they have added so many ready made meals, and baked goods and desserts!!! I have been back twice in the past month or so and each time have stocked up on treats for special occassions. We loved the Quiche - very high quality and the taste was buttery and cheesey and eggey - LOVE! I have tried and thoroughly enjoyed their house made, english muffins, muffins, cookies, brownies and fruit bread slices. So so good. They accept cash and credit. They have a great staff/team of workers...they are friendly, and fun. The cat Darla - she was a hit with everyone that was with me...she is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy...don't pet her too long, she will hit you with her little mitten paws. She will rub up against your legs and allow you to provide a few pets...she will reach up with her paws/claws if you stop petting too soon. LOL There is so much that I love about this business..
