On a roadtrip home from New Mexico we saw this authentic drive in and just had to stop. The best decision ever. These burgers were nice and fresh! Very juicy and tasted just nostalgic giving true to the name! The fried also were fresh but could use salt and pepper but they did give some on the side. Service could have been better because they lady wasn't too enthused by our stoping by but besides that it was a great experience. read more

Everything we had was delicious and fresh. I had a cheeseburger, and my husband had a bacon cheeseburger. Much better than what we would have gotten at the fast food burger place a bit up the road. We shared a chili cheese dog which had real chili and a good quality hot dog. My only reason for knocking off a star is that I ordered a banana malt, but there was not even a hint of malt flavor. However, if I was looking for a tasty banana shake, I would have been quite happy with it. You won't get your food as fast as you would at a burger chain, but the food is worth the wait. A lot of the orders seemed to be call ahead orders from locals, so if you are in a hurry, phoning in the order might be an option for you. read more

Ok. YUM YUM YUM YUM. OMG YUM. We drive from DFW to New Mexico a lot so we drive half an hr out of our way just to get our Rocky fix. I do not know what the do to this burger but it's old school delicious. They are fairly small so I'd recommend the double meat patty. My hubby loves the tots but I like the fries they seem hand cut and are greatness. Do not let the outside scare you. It's more than a whole in the wall and there is no inside. This is just a walk up and order place, or you can call ahead on the phone to place an order and pick it up when it is done. I went up to the order menu, but there's a drive thru where you can go and give the lady your order, and they can make it right then and there. I will say it's an old fashion place with no seats to sit down at, but there is good food. I had the double burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise. The meat was really juicy, and didn't taste like those frozen patties you would find elsewhere. These burgers, I am told, are homemade, and have a really good taste to them. I really did enjoy all the condiments added to the sandwich. The mayo was really tasty, and the rest of the burger was a good texture and not too hard or soft. The burger also comes with fries and a drink. The fries were delicious, and cooked to a perfection. Some fries are hard to beat, but these were delicious with the sandwich. Even though it may take a little while since there are only a couple of people working here, this burger place has been a favorite of Lamesa residents for a long time, and still is a favorite for kids to get burgers. I will say I enjoyed this place very much, but they are closed on Sundays. Come on by and grab a burger! read more

Everything is great here except for the BLT. The bacon was old. Vegetables were fresh, and the bread was not greasy. All other food can't be beat in Lamesa. read more

Unfortunately found this place the last day of my two week stay or they'd a broke the bank on me. Super delicious double cheeseburger and tots for 8 bucks. Heck of a deal. Fresh patties not frozen saw the man inside rolling them out himself. Only advice I'd give is call ahead since it's so fresh to order there will consist of a little wait. Hubby and I stopped for supper coming through from Hobbs, NM to Brownwood, TX. This was a very busy place. Lady at the window took our order. She was very nice. It took a bit to get our cheeseburgers and fries as there were only two women working. It was well worth the wait. The meat on the burger was super fresh, not a frozen patty.French fries were very good. Tasted like fresh cut potatoes. So thankful this team took over the old Spurlocks. Food is amazing just like it has always been. Only thing I wish was different is if they had the chocolate 800!! We're heading from Midland to Amarillo and needed a quick stop for food. Read good reviews about Rocky's and thought we'd try it out. They did not disappoint! The first thing we really like is that you can call ahead and order so it's ready by the time you get there (truly fast food if you can pick it up and go with only 2 minutes wait like we had). Called about 3 minutes before we arrived and it only took them 2 more minutes to finish cooking our food. My wife and I got the Double Meat Cheeseburgers and they tasted like old fashion hamburgers loaded with flavor that was perfectly balanced. Our kids had corn dogs that you could tell were battered and hand dipped right there. They loved them. The only reason this is a 4 star review is that the bag of fries had a lot of over cooked pieces (like they were the last of the last batch they made and had been sitting there a while - the fresher french fries tasted awesome and were definitely made fresh from potatoes in house). The bag of tater tots seemed a bit too small for the price. The great taste of the burgers far outweighed the slight disappointment with the tots and fries. All in all we would definitely go back for at least the burgers and corn dogs. You should definitely give this place a shot! read more

Food is very good. The chicken strip plate is delicious. The chicken strips are very crispy, which I love. It comes with a side of fries, gravy, Texas toast, and a salad. The fries are homemade and they have bits of the skin from the potato left on them, so I can tell their homemade. I didn't get the salad, I actually got extra fries instead with cheese. But I'm sure the salad is delicious anyways. read more

I love these old hamburger stands and I really had high hopes, especially for the fact that I would rather spend my hard earned money at home grown and home owned restaurants. Ordered the cheeseburger basket even though I had no idea what it would cost as there are no prices on the outside menu board. About 10 minutes later, the man behind the window motioned me to pick up my order. The fries, although greasy, were like the old ones I remember from the old days and they gave you plenty. The fries deserve 3 and a half stars out of five. Now, the main course. Cheeseburger all the way. I normally pull the top bun off and put ketchup on the meat and rearrange the vegetables but to my surprise, the meat was barely there. If I had to make a good guess, this was a junior burger size Patty from What aburger but with a quarter pounder price from McDonald's.
