Stopped in for a few beers. Cool spot with a pinball themed vibe. Waitress was a gem and it was a nice hang. I would be back!

Texas surprises me often when it comes to good food but to find a restaurant/bar that serves vegan cuisine blew me away. The server who also was the bartender was friendly and very helpful! My table was also a pinball machine! And better, the casual ambiance didn't have giant tv screens distracting a gif time. Next time I'm in Lubbock, I'll go back! Thank you Flippers!

Stopped here while traveling because we wanted something different and boy howdy did we find it. Pin ball games everywhere including the dining tables. Classic vinyl LPs on the wall and decent restrooms were very appreciated. I got the Damned Dog which turned out to be the best chili cheese dog I've ever had. Wasn't too expensive either. Great place to go if you really want something different and unique.

Wow! What an amazing place! We chose to go here after our time at the ren fair down the street, and it was such a good choice! The place is so cute, a vintage eclectic theme, lots of pinball and records. All of their food looks amazing, we got the philly cheesesteak and the filthy wizard hot dog. And a pretzel. The mac in cheese is so good too! Our waitress was so kind and conversational, she was quick and so was the food and it was all very reasonably priced! Can't wait to come back!

We were passing through town and I had read a really good review on Flippers. Lo and behold we passed right by. I made my husband flip a U and it was the best decision for our pit stop on our travels. It's a very cool little place. It is well decorated and really unique. The outdoor patio was great and surprisingly cool for an August afternoon. We decided to try three of the dogs on the menu. The Damned Dog (left), The Supersonic Dog (center), and The Sourpuss Dog. All of them were very unique and full of flavor. They use a huge all beef hot dog which had a great flavor and the bun is amazing. It's hard to describe the bun, but it really makes the hot dog. It was very fresh and soft but with a nice light toast making it flaky. The chili on the Damned dog had a great flavor but did not overwhelm the dog. It was a great spin on a classic chili dog. The Supersonic used a garlic pepper jack sausage topped with a bacon jam, whipped cream, Sriracha, grilled onions, and fresh jalapeños. It was so very full of flavor and had a good bite to it with the addition of fresh jalapeños. The Sourpuss was a bratwurst with a pickle spear, sautéed sauerkraut, crushed vinegar chips, and queso fresco. It was very good also with just a very different flavor profile that really works. Our sides were the house made potato salad, the Gouda Mac and Cheese with crispy jalapeños on top, and Boulder Salt and Malt Vinegar chips. That Gouda Mac and Cheese was definitely the stand out of the sides. It had a great flavor and texture. Very nice and creamy and the crispy jalapeños were a great addition. Flippers had a very inventive cocktail and mocktail menu. The Saturday special Chilton had the perfect balance of lemon and was nice and cold. My husband tried a Beet-le Juice which was a blanco tequila, with a Bergamont liqueur, hibiscus syrup, beet juice, and lime. It was great. All the flavors together made a very tasty cocktail. We both would order that again. The mocktail menu was really extensive and looked really good. They also had a great beer selection. The ladies there were slammed but they were spot on with their service on a busy Saturday afternoon. They were attentive to each table and worked at an amazing speed considering I don't think that many people were working. Food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. We will definitely be adding Flipper's Tavern to our rotation of pit stops in Lubbock. I can't wait to try the sandwiches and burger next. Don't sleep on Flipper's they definitely are on top of their game.

I had a lot of fun, even tho I was there only 20 mins or so. The food was good, get just one hot dog to start, get another if you're hungry, they are big enough for one person. The games all around, newer ones next to antique (on the wall) ones. It was fun. Bring your quarters. They have a machine to exchange quarters. It broke while there and they gave us a few dollars worth for free. It was all a different experience but fun.

This is the place to be in Lubbock! Laid back, casual place where all the locals seem to hang out. Delicious vegan/vegetarian food options as well as an array of adult beverages. We tried the jackfruit Torta, vegan chili, deviled eggs, and Mac n cheese. All of the food was excellent and so was the service. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

My favorite night to visit is Wednesday, as they host RUN LBK's group runs. There's a free post-run beer awaiting your return. If that's not convincing enough, I don't know what else is. They host events every night, actually. This includes lotería, trivia, and vinyl night to name a few. They play host often to local and farther flung bands. I haven't returned to Mano Negra since it moved from its old location in Cactus Alley to the heart of Lubbock. Their old spot was very tight but had such an unadulterated charm that made the space feel special. The new location feels a lot more modern, but as its fanbase continues to grow, it needed more space to work with anyway. Inside, there's a huge wall of art and plenty of seating, and it feels like a place that doesn't belong in Lubbock. It feels so mid-city that it almost made me emotional. In the back lies their bar, where they serve their famed sangria, house-brewed beers, and other beverages. Their bartenders are super knowledgeable and will help you make the right choice. In the corner are a few arcade machines, including Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat II, Defender, and Pac-Man. There are also plenty of board games to pick up as well. As for the drinks, the Sunset Sangria and their Sandia Sangria I had were both exceptional. Good sangria hits like nothing I've ever had before. Mano Negra's new spot has a great deal of outdoor seating and patio space. If the inside gets too loud or too crowded, and if there's live music like there was when I went, it can get LOUD. The outdoor space offers a quiet escape and a great conversation spot on a cool night in Lubbock. The overall vibe and energy of Mano Negra are lively. The Brazilian students playing music in the corner brought out a new level of energy to the night, and I had a blast going here. I warn that their drinks are a little strong and the energy can get a little hot, so you may find yourself three drinks deep, unable to resist getting your dance on a little bit. Have a little fun with it. RIYL: Feeling A L I V E on a Friday night
